Seeing my home town like that gives me all the feels :) Würzburg is a really old and beautiful city. If you liked it here you should visit Rothenburg. Also a very old city it has a lot of museums and little shop's that are so cute.
well Rothenburg is like the stereotypical german twon. Like what people from outside of germany think of when they think of a german village. So yeah its kind of nice but if you go there and you are a fan of festive decorations go there during the Holiday season to visit the Weihnachtsmarkt. If not then Rothenburg isnt really worth seeing. It seems kind of surreal to be honest. But dont let me keep you from going there. Just thought I´d share my opinion on it :)
That wine drinking on the bridge thing is a rather recent "tradition". It something that was started by some of the restaurants in the area and then became very popular. It also causes some issues with bike traffic when there are too many people
Fun fact: Würzburg is about 100 km north of the limes, the roman border wall and therefore no romans were there to grow wine. So you might be right with only 1000 years of growing wine.

I keep constantly travelling to Wurzburg and i think it is one of most beautiful places i have seen. You should also go to Steinburg schloss hotel to catch the view of entire city!!
As someone who lives in Würzburg but is originally from a smaller city nearby, I'd suggest hitting up a Weinfest in a smaller town. They are nicer than Weindorf, are open until late at night and the wine is cheaper and often also better. But Würzburg is still a great place to start if you want to get a feel for the area.
At 3:36 those bottles are called Bocksbeutel, because they look like the "Beutel" - a (dangling) body part - of a "Bock", a billy goat. See what I mean? I'm not kidding! I like your travel videos! Keep up with the good work. There are still plenty of towns and fests to visit in Germany, especially during summer. You should also visit northern Germany which is very different to the south. Maybe go to Hamburg - it's a fascinating town.

A nice to know about "Frankenwein". It's bottle is a traditional one. The form of that bottle has got her own brand. It's called "Boxbeutel" . Only wine from river Main area is allowed filled in this kind of bottles. All the other wine of germany is forbidden filling up in Boxbeutel. A few years ago, all the glasmanufactures won't produce Boxbeutel any longer, because of the small number of bottles each year. That is why the winemakers became the situation, running out of her tradition. But they managed this crisis in buying her own glasmanufactures, near the boundary to the check republik. And now, they have got their own complete constructionline of wine.
Take a side trip to Bad Kissingen, enjoy the mineral spas and say hello to the remaining GI's at Daley Barracks. Very nice area of rolling hills old architecture. Nice video, you guys are awesome!
The KissSalis Spa in Bad Kissingen i really nice! I've been there quite a few times. If you've got no problem with nudity, you should try it. Although the also have a very beautiful area textile area, where you don't have to be naked. Water is real nice because they use almost no chlorine. Not needed because of all the minerals in the water.
I encourage you to explore more of Wuerzburg, there is so much more, and so many festivals, a nice place to live, and visit. Hope you go inside the residence, it is once in a lifetime opp. Rent some bikes in Veitshochiem from Stephan at SundS bikes, ride along the river to many different cities and stop at the beer gardens for drinks and food, and the lake for swimming and bbq... really nice culture

We visited Wuerzburg one time, there was so much historical architecture there it made my head spin, I wanted to explore everything but we were running out of time.
Almost all of these historical buildings were rebuilt after WW2. It is astonishing, how much love and work was invested to make Würzburg great again! ;-)
My wife and I are headed for Würzburg Sunday and can't wait to explore! I was born there and never had a chance to visit so I want to learn everything I can while we are there. We are staying in an apartment in Randersacker and have a vehicle. Besides the MANY obvious sites to see, does anyone have any interesting things to do or places to check out while we are there?
I really love the stramu (music and other art is performed on the streets in the city. The umsonst und drausen is also awesome it's free(umsonst) and open air on the Talavera, a lot of different act's good food and so on.
