The funny thing is all these quarterbacks would immediately thank their fellow players for their success. Teams should only be evaluated as a total unit.
Why does Tua have to be among the top 5 or a bust? He's playing great and is helping the Dolphins win. If he gets them into the playoffs and get a win, then this convo should held. Let the man do his thing first.
All I gotta say is in every season the best QB has always been #1 in QBR, Dude keep saying its the weapons around him, but Teddy and skylar ain’t did shit with them, Did we forget that mahomes had both hill and Kelce when he got there, Herbert had Williams and Allen, People forget Tua is one of the fewest rookie qb’s, to throw for 10 TD’s and 0 INT’s, and one of the fewest nfl players to have back to back 80+% games, People forget his amazing stretch of games when Dolphins went on that 7 game win streak last year, Tua had 8 TD’s and 3 INT’s on a passing % of 75% and higher, Had Tua played 17 games his 2nd year he’d easily put up 20+ TD’s and 3,000+ yards
Joel obviously doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Hill himself has said on multiple occasions that Tua is the most accurate QB in the league and Tua has the stats to back him up.
Herbert is over rated, he was drafted into a great situation with being surrounded with weapons and yet league the league with 4th quarter ints and most ints returned for a touchdown. Tua on the other has done nothing but win.
Lamar couldn’t play in this offense. Herbert couldn’t play in this offense. Burrow couldn’t play in this offense. This offense is predicated on getting the ball out fast. You guys no nothing about football.
Its crazy cause everytime tua proves hes that guy theres always something to say, he leads the league in important statistical caterogires like QBR and passer rating, like wht more do you want him to do to prove it?
95% of all passes are within 25 yards of thr line of scrimmage. No, Tua doesn't have a Cannon arm like a Mahomes or Allen, but it doesn't matter. Even on the undedthrown balls, have mostly been caught or draws a pass interference. If any other qb were putting up his #'s & ranked #1 in so many of the most important statistical categories you all would be giving praising that QB, and not giving credit to everyone but him. Just as a sports fan how can you not appreciate what this kid is doing, after all the negativity surrounding him from the haters in msm sports shows, the debacle of the Flores & Ross situation,,the distractions around his concussion, Yet, he still carries his head high & continues to prove doubters wrong.
Just a Herbert can't be in another stratosphere when he throws late game interceptions for pick sixes and can't win you a game on his own when the offense isn't working Tua doesn't do that he does the opposite plain and simple
How soon we forget Herbert has played with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams. Yea they are banged up now….. but we give Herbert so much credit for his first two years but completely ignore those two weapons.
Tua was in the worst situation his first two years. Put Herbert and Burrow in Tua’s situation in the first two years and we would be questioning Herbert and Burrow. Tua will ball.
Everyone of those QB have elite receivers, yet only one got 2 of them on the top 5 in receiving yards. One might break 2000 yards this season while the 2nd is about to break 1500 .
Here’s my take: the last two seasons for Tua the scheme and playmakers around him were no level of what is finally on the team. Waddle came last season but before that it was just Gesicki. His running game is still non-existent. Now they have added Armstead to help this line and they found a gem in Shell…. I like the way the offense looks and I give Tua just as much credit as I give Hill. That combination has taken the league by storm and when u add Waddle, Gesicki, Wilson, Mostert, Sheffield, and others this offense is by far one of the most dangerous. Not to mention Tua is taken a huge step this season especially at the midway point.
They can't give that man his respect. If you take Tyreek out and insert any other top 6 WR Tua's numbers would still be the same. The offense may not be as explosive but it would still be potent. GIVE THAT MAN HIS FLOWERS
Can’t blame Herbert because the Chargers are failing him? Why isn’t there the same energy for Tua? He was 13-8 in his first two seasons despite having a HISTORICALLY bad oline, wide receivers with the least amount of separation, no consistent running game, and a coach who didn’t believe in him. Yes Herbert would ball on this Dolphins squad. He also would’ve fallen flat on his face with the hand Tua was dealt.
We keep giving Herbert all these free passes because of what he's done statistically despite being In a bad situation and that's fine I get it he's a good qb.......but his team hasn't been winning for all those stats(atleast not as much as teams tua has started on there's the difference tua's stats might not have been the most impressive but his game managing is top notch it induces winning) I think people just don't like the way tua gets it done it's ugly to them despite it working both are good qbs though
Ppl don't understand tyreek amd waddle are open bc of Tua's anticipation and eye manipulation. Tua makes it look easy bc he possess qualities that Mahomes don't, hence the reason Reek will get 2k
I don't know if you can say Tua isn't the system in Miami that offense avg 16 points a game with him out and looked meh. He comes back and it's been 30 every week. Tua is the system in Miami. His anticipatory skills, accuracy and ability to manipulate the defense makes this system elite. No other QB has those skills on this level outside Brady, Warner, Manning and Bress.,....... Pocket passes without elite arm strength. I can't agree with this narrative after seeing Tua rip through defense for nearly 3 months straight.
The Tua hate is real. I use to think he wasn’t the guy but when you surround a QB with a coach that wants you to succeed and talent he’s shown he’s that guy from Bama. Y’all will eventually come around like I did
By the way Justin Herbert has the most pick 6 in 4qtr among all Q.B he'd lost close game throwing pick 6 he is always been the same Q.B ever since collage.
And to say herbert had a great season with a terrible Oline and not mentioning the weapons he had is crazy. Ekler, Allen, Williams. Tua had a terrible Oline playing with receivers like Malcom perry the navy QB and other randoms. Tua finally has two great receivers and a slightly below average Oline and is ballin. The disrespect will never end…..
Asking your qb to do everything for you , including doing sweeps to try & get 2 yards for a 1st down is NOT a well run offense. Josh Allen & lamar smith
Tua will never be good enough for these guys. They judging Tua from his first two season yet making the same excuse for other qbs. Every good qb needs a number 1WR. Every good qb has a system built around their play. Not every qb can play in this system. If the system is tgat successful and easy to run for a qb, every team would be running it.
Joel literally sounds like a Skip Bayliss with his takes. He was taking Drew’s points and twisting. Herbert hasn’t made it to the playoffs YET and has had his WRs, RB, OL etc there. Tua’s first two seasons, worst OL, no running game and oft injured Devante Parker never available when it mattered. Yet, they were one game outside of the playoffs both seasons. Herbert has had a better supporting cast in his each season than Tua. No more excuses for Herbert. Tua is playing great and McDaniel catered this offense this season to Tua’s strengths. Stop moving the goal post and respect his development.
Joel rating real world capability based on "what if" scenario only makes sense if he isn't also completely ignoring what actually is happening (the stats). Living in a fantasy world.

At this point if Tua don’t win the super bowl he won’t even be thought about as a above average quarterback not even good no matter what and that’s sad because people are really moving the goalposts for Tua every week and that’s wild to me……
Even if he wins a Super Bowl they wont give him credit, it'll be can he win another one or do they need a new QB so they can win multiple
They say Tyreek is the reason the Dolphins look good ask them how many games did Tyreek win without Tua this year
All I gotta say is in every season the best QB has always been #1 in QBR, Dude keep saying its the weapons around him, but Teddy and skylar ain’t did shit with them, Did we forget that mahomes had both hill and Kelce when he got there, Herbert had Williams and Allen, People forget Tua is one of the fewest rookie qb’s, to throw for 10 TD’s and 0 INT’s, and one of the fewest nfl players to have back to back 80+% games, People forget his amazing stretch of games when Dolphins went on that 7 game win streak last year, Tua had 8 TD’s and 3 INT’s on a passing % of 75% and higher, Had Tua played 17 games his 2nd year he’d easily put up 20+ TD’s and 3,000+ yards
How did Teddy and Skylar do with the same talent... Tua is the guy
One thing I learned a long time ago is haters gonna hate.
Joel is so bad at football takes man. Jets fans are so delusional.
All the memes that were made about tua not fully utilizing his weapons c'mon now...give him some credit
Are you saying Tua had the same weapons Herbert had the first 2 years? C’mon man.. joke! Plus Herbert had a run game his whole career so far!
It’s McDaniel than the weapons than Tua… but they’re 0-3 with McDaniel the weapons and no Tua 🤔
Just as a sports fan how can you not appreciate what this kid is doing, after all the negativity surrounding him from the haters in msm sports shows, the debacle of the Flores & Ross situation,,the distractions around his concussion,
Yet, he still carries his head high & continues to prove doubters wrong.
Tua is a baller!! Now they mad...
Just a Herbert can't be in another stratosphere when he throws late game interceptions for pick sixes and can't win you a game on his own when the offense isn't working Tua doesn't do that he does the opposite plain and simple
So if aaron rodgers first season was this year? does that make him elite? QB’s need weapons to succeed! They need a Good system to succeed!
Let me know when Herbert wins a playoff game... Or qualify for the playoffs.
TUA BEST 3rd down passer rating in history right now
The offense wasn’t built for Tua? Then why couldn’t Teddy get a win and Tua is 6-0?
Joel is a wish version of Colin Cowherd
Can’t blame Herbert because the Chargers are failing him? Why isn’t there the same energy for Tua? He was 13-8 in his first two seasons despite having a HISTORICALLY bad oline, wide receivers with the least amount of separation, no consistent running game, and a coach who didn’t believe in him. Yes Herbert would ball on this Dolphins squad. He also would’ve fallen flat on his face with the hand Tua was dealt.
Tua just keeps winning
Y’all will eventually come around like I did
Guy in the red clearly doesn't know systems 🤣
He clearly is not seeing how Tua is THROWING guys open
Idk who has the worst sports takes Joel or Skip Bayless 😂 they just be saying anything
Y'all realize that Cincy won that game against KC purely on the back of their defense almost completely shutting out KC in the second half.
All you wish for is Tua haters to admit that nothing he does will change their mind about him. They will just create another excuse.
so mahomes had tyreek and the best T.E plus one of the best coaches? why arent we bashing him? Tua’s balling right now
Tua’s team in 20/21 wasn’t holding him back?
By the way Justin Herbert has the most pick 6 in 4qtr among all Q.B he'd lost close game throwing pick 6 he is always been the same Q.B ever since collage.
Time will prove Tua right
You can win with Tua more than you can win Herbert. Look at their records.
Nerds talking like they can throw and play fb.. acho was right some folks want beauty pageant QB contests Smdh
Now they want to every QB in this Offense
Asking your qb to do everything for you , including doing sweeps to try & get 2 yards for a 1st down is NOT a well run offense. Josh Allen & lamar smith
Tua will never be good enough for these guys. They judging Tua from his first two season yet making the same excuse for other qbs. Every good qb needs a number 1WR. Every good qb has a system built around their play. Not every qb can play in this system. If the system is tgat successful and easy to run for a qb, every team would be running it.
even if dolphins were undefeated at this time or win a playoff game, people would still be putting tua down. unbelievable!
The year San Fran went to the superbowl they had a KILLER defense.
Bridgewater and Skylar had their shot…combined 0-3 with the same system…how strange…TUA IS HIM…😎👍🇺🇸
Joel rating real world capability based on "what if" scenario only makes sense if he isn't also completely ignoring what actually is happening (the stats). Living in a fantasy world.
Haters always gonna hate no matter what he does they always find a excuse.
I LOVE HEATED DEBATES!
The guy in the red just tried to talk over people as soon as they start making a valid point. It’s so annoying.
The problem is drew keeps agreeing like he saying something right he’s discrediting and moving the goal post to the point tua will never get his respect
Dude the goalpost moving is crazy
OMG
Pls get me on this podcast I just have sun facts lemme get 20 min
Got the goalpost doing the cha-cha slide.
