    Assuming disease is caused by imbalance, then the goal is to achieve homeostasis. By restoring balance -- via herbs, lifestyle, food, and/or a zillion possible interventions -- then the body is theoretically able to heal itself if, in fact, healing is possible. This rarely, if ever, happens overnight. But our society wants everything not now, but yesterday, and herbs usually don't work like that. Getting patients to follow a healing regimen can be close to impossible here in the U.S.

    I would say pharmaceuticals can suppress quickly, and herbs will support more slowly. So we can choose: suppress a response to something unhealthy quickly, or support overall health slowly, in balance, and thoroughly.
    Thanks for the good info and insight. Been using herbs for 50+ years.

    I am very interested in your upcoming course on using herbs for health. I am a registered nurse and just retired 2 weeks ago, and I have taken an interest in learning about herbs for health. Better late than never, right? Using herbs just makes sense, rather than always rushing to use pharmaceuticals. Thanks so much for your videos. I signed up on your web site for notification of the upcoming herb course. Blessings to you and greetings from central Florida.

    I met my husband 8 years ago, he suffered from Crohn's disease..
    After I adjusted his eating habits, he went into remission, until last year.
    He suffered a brain injury 2 years ago at work. Due to some of the medications he is required to take, it's reared its ugly head again.
    Now, he's back on Crohn's medications 😪😪..

    Hello I’m a herbalist and I agree and disagree with some of things she is talking about as far as why some herbs doesn’t work we have to remember that all herbs aren’t good and we as herbalist don’t really take the time to really understand what herbs are hybrids and which ones are natural we just go by what the health claims are about that herb and understand why hybrids herbs are not good for the body

    I found a mullien root that had a ring of purple between the inner root core and outer root. I first thought awe cool, red veins in sorrel and dandelion are good so maybe this is good too. It was only one in a bunch I was/am tincturing. I have searched and asked and received no answer. I want to know if this tincture is safe to use or if I have ruining a whole batch 😢 the ring turned blue after a couple days in the alcohol and now nothing. The tincture doesn’t look too much different in color from my dock tincture. My eye is highly sensitive with color right now, I’m picking a white pint color, who understands me?! Lol
    Please help with and answer or resource if you can!

    Do you think herbs can help people with heart failure

    • @foggylog19
      @foggylog19 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure, but have heard of cases helped by low carb, can't recall the name of the doctor from UK who comments on some patients who for comfort he changed to low carb as near end life (geriatric and heart failure, not tolerating side effect fluid meds) and they improved. Speech was at low carb down under and was I think called black Swan

  • @davidmcmanus4751
    @davidmcmanus4751 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    I really don't think you explained this correctly. In fact, I'd almost say you explained why natural medicine is the wrong way to go. Herbs don't work slowly. It is your BODY that has to TAKE TIME to HEAL properly. You are correct when you say that people have to focus on their diet, as natural medicine focuses on cause and pharmaceuticals focus on effect. But your explanation on how pharmaceuticals are created and used, is also only partially correct. Pharmaceutical companies extract one substance out of a plant, but fail to realize that it is the rest of the substances in that same plant that prevents side effects of that first substance from existing. They then mix that substance with other extracted substances from other plants, and many other things (such as lethal chemicals found in cleaning agents, poisons and venoms from deadly creatures, and even bacteria from proteins grown in a lab) to make the "medicines" that they prescribe to their victims. Because "victims" are EXACTLY what all of those unknowing, willfully ignorant, people are, trusting their "doctors". People don't seem to realize that those same "doctors" are not healers, but murderers, prescribing mismatched substances and proclaiming that their victims will be cured. How much more trustworthy could a road peddler with a "Powerful Secret Elixer" be compared to a modern-practicing doctor prescribing random pharmaceuticals to their "patients"? The similarities are astounding.
    .
    Natural medicine is a true science. It's not hocus pocus witchcraft or hippy bullshit. It is the true study of plants to be used as both food and medicine for the benefit of healthy diet and well-being in our world. It is only the truly ignorant who willfully rely, believe, and depend on pharmaceutical companies to tell them what should be considered medicine and what shouldn't without EVER putting in the slightest effort at all into learning even the very basics of plant life in our world.
    .
    For anyone who is interested, try herballegacy.com. It is the collected works of Doctor John Christopher, a medical doctor and Master Herbalist from the 1930's, that you can read and learn, and share free of charge. His son, David Christopher, and his wife Dawn, are both also Master Herbalists, and run a school out of Utah, called the School of Natural Healing. You can enroll online or take a correspondence course. I personally, am enrolled in this school and I can not express to you how much I have learned in such a short time. I have studied and pursued herbalism over the course of several years with the intent to be a Master Herbalist, and considering how this world is quickly turning into a train wreck, it may not be a bad idea for any of you to look into learning Herbalism, yourself. You can enroll in their school, here. moodle.snh.cc/ Best wishes to all who pursue this field of study. May Christ be with us all.

      @@TheFewellHomestead It wasn't intended to be. I tacked that last bit on as an after thought. But as long as people are interested, they may as well know what is available for them to learn. I don't know anything about you or what you're offering. I've only seen maybe two of your videos. I have subscribed! As you may well teach me something that this school won't. It's good to have numerous teachers. They may not always coincide in curriculum, and will definitely have their own opinion, but that's where the treasure's at. Small slivers of information that one person says and you learn something, may be something that no one else has thought to say. And then you have one more piece of information that benefits you in the field which will make you a better forager, a better herbalist, and in the long run, a better teacher, passing your knowledge on to the next generation of herbalists.
