The first heist scene was the best shit in the world I remember watching this movie in the theaters and the whole crowd gasped laughed & started clapping when the black civic coupe went under that trailer
Connoisseur Of Cars & Tig Ol Bitties The first Cars movie uses the same shots when the Delinquent Road Hazards show up. I think they even use the same sound. Love that too
Don’t let this video distract you from the fact that Hector is going to be running three Honda civics with spoon engines, and on top of that, he just went into Harry’s and bought three t66 turbos with nos, and a motec exhaust system. 👀
It would be fun to replicate those 3 Civics. Get some friends to drive the other 2, And pull up on all 3 of them to a local car meet, And see everyone's reaction
No joke when this movie first out I went to the theaters 5 times in a row I was driving a 92 Honda civic hatchback I felt like a million bucks back than....now on almost 40 years old have kids and drive a minivan lol!
The green neon is essential for a heist car. It helps you blend in the traffic at night, LOL! Joking aside, great video and thank you for sharing! :) I love your car stories.
Craig, I just got a 2014 5.0 with 23,000 miles. I’m 21, and it’s people like you and what you did with the franchise that got me into cars! Love the videos!
My first car ever was a 95’ Civic Dx coupe and yes it was black. Bought 17” chrome wheels and whole car got stolen two weeks later 😒😂 .. Awwww memories 😊🤗
I owned the gold civic @6:06 i bought it for $2,500. The dealer i got it at had a few civics used in 2 fast 2 furious a red eclipse 3. All were sold or later junked.
As for the dealership i got it at they whent bankrupt. They had about 6 cars used in the warehouse scene in 2 fast. 4 civics the gold . green . brown w a nopi sticker on the hood all had bodykits. 2 different eclipse based on the first movie . and a Toyota mr 2 .
The shop I worked for during the time of the auction, ended up with two of the civics and two MR2 spiders. We used them as showroom and parking lot eye candy. The widebody MR2s were yellow, and the other was silver. I dont much about the yellow car other than it stayed at another store location. The silver was in the showroom at my location. They were sold off after about a year. The silver ended up with a blown engine quickly after we sold it. Yellow car I have no clue. The civics.... We had the car that ended up orange, and I think the other was light blue. The blue car stayed at the location with the yellow MR2. I don't know much about those two. But the orange civic we kept in the parking lot. It was an actual good running car, and we would use it as a hotshot for parts and take it for lunch breaks. It was driven almost every day and was put in the showroom after the A/C clapped out and, the silver MR2 was sold. After only a couple months the same guy who bought and the silver car also made an offer on the orange car. And he also bout it. Sadly that car would be seen on the 5pm new on HWY49 south. It had been smashed at an intersection. News said he was hauling ass, ran a red light. I'm not sure about the guy. Last I knew, he was airlifted from the scene in critical condition. I believe he lived tho. I'm sure I would've heard if he died. I know it's not a lot of info, but you can document at least knowing where those 4 cars ended up.
Crazy to think that they were the first iconic cars that everyone remembers when you think of the f&f franchise and yet they have disappeared with no trace.....one day hopefully someone will find one.
first thing that caught me was the exhaust note when the 3 Civics first appeared. Was only let down by the blow off valve sound as I was expecting them to be NA tuned. The 3 Civics hunted and highjacked the trailer like a pack of raptors.
My cousin lived in Hemet during the filming of the hijacking scene, and we were all really into Street tuning at that time, it was always fun to drive down that road and see where everything took place. Sure do miss those days.
Thanks for sharing man! I still remember everyone burning out of the parking lot leaving the movie theater! Oh.. the memories! It's what really got me started loving imports. Hate I sold my 89 Si Prelude.. didn't know what I had.
Thanks Craig, love these stories, and all your efforts at preserving the history of the franchise, you're definitely appreciated my friend! Rest in Peace Paul, we all miss you!
I think the best part about the Civics is that your average civic these days is like, under 5 grand? Usually? Not always in the best condition but if you want a Civic from the movie you can replicate they are so easy to find. It's just they're so old these days it'll probably be a fixer upper job, but a hell of a fun one. I'm saving my money right now and buying one to replicate when I can.
Although I didn't end up with the same year - those black civics fueled my love for not only the tuner scene and cars from the release of this movie until now..but they inspired me to create my youtube channel and document my builds! Thanks for all these videos Craig keep em comin!!!!
I do have to say, I agreed with a statement you made Craig in your earlier video about how the movies have kind of strayed from the original F&F. I understand the fact that each movie has been bigger and badder than the one before it but I wish the franchise would go back to its roots. Because sometimes its the simpler things that make the bigger impact and mean the most. Yes the first F&F had allot of things that were laughable with the tech talk and some of the scenes didn't make sense like the floor board flying off. But the movie was still grounded in a way that wasn't over the top and you could actually see something like it possibly happening in real life. But the movies as of late just keep getting further and further from any realm of reality. I honestly believe if F&F went back to its roots, where it all began, grounded and set around what the car scene is today as compared to what it was 20 years ago, then it would make more of an impact than any over the top almost super hero level movie ever could. I can't tell you how many car enthusiasts I've talked to at car meets and car shows all over that have said they would love to see F&F go back to something more simple like the first movie. And that they haven't even seen the newer ones because they are way too far fetched. The original was almost like a movie that was based around a car culture that had never been in the spotlight. It felt we were finally getting recognition for all the hard work people do with their cars to show the freedom of expression and the talent of those owners, the imagination of the human mind and the dedication to the art whether it be looks, performance, or both. And though like I said some of the tech talk and scenes were a bit wrong, it was still close enough to feel as though yeah some of us make mistakes like with street racing, but the most important thing is that 95% of us are like a family, and we stick together through the best and worst, and we come together with a common passion, cars. What was done with F&F 1 was ground breaking and is amazing to me and many others to this day. I and many others just wish the franchise and the characters would go back to that somehow. Back to the roots. Now lets take a moment to thank the car gods. :-) I know I am, I take delivery of a new 2015 Civic Si Tuesday. hehehe Big plans.
@@a240life2 Classic what? A classic is anything under 1970. A honda civic will never be considered a classic anything, but if you want to classify them as classics, fuck well throw the 91-96 ford escort GT into that mix, since it came with a 1.8 BP mazda motor.
What’s funny is if one of those Civics did turn up - good chance it would be a DX with automatic. A car a tuner wouldn’t want anyways. And if restored and shown at car shows, lots of people would be disappointed by the stock DX engine, trans, and lack of actual high performance mods. Awesome video - thanks!!

Those civics will live on forever on film and in our memories. When the first film came out I HATED imports. Mostly because all the rich kids in high school drove modded civics paid for by mommy and daddy. But after watching this movie I changed my opinion on them. My first import was a 97 Jetta 2.0 I modded it and have had imports mostly from then on. I want to buy an old civic like the ones in the film one day and do a proper rebuild on it. Great video.
The Civic had great fuel economy. When I first saw people ricing up the Civic, I was quite surprised, I always thought of the Civic as a civilised car.

Love it. I know for a fact that the car engines were from other cars because my buddy Ronnie’s civic was used for sound effects used in the film. I believe it was done near the LACR or in the middle of the Antelope Valley.
I’ve always wanted to clone the three civics and then go out on a drive with my friends to try and get some reactions out of people. Make truckers nervous for a second.

Cars from the movie sold for $1k-$3k and most of the people probably didnt really care they were from the movie...I haven't heard something that sad in a long time
Those black civics are the reason I love EG until today. When the move came out, I was 11 y/o, played GT2 and my favourite car was Evo 6 but then when I saw the movie, those EG has different vibes from normal EG I've seen on the street.
I love Fast and Furious you are the reason I love tuners today lol. Im a huge fan of the movie. There was some cool cars in this movie and my favorite car was Letty Burgundy 240sx.
Hey I'm a fourteen-year-old new-found car guy and you know it's relieving to finally see one of my favorite movie cars that I can actually make on a relatively cheap budget I'm actually going to try and do this by the time I'm 18 wish me luck people
I loved those scenes in the first movie those are what made me really like Honda's when I was young I probably wouldn't have the 95 coupe i have today if it wasn't for the movies.. it is sad they didn't have more modifications but I will still always remember them. Thank you for another video Craig!
Nice vid Mr. Lieberman I remember trying to get a 1992-1995 in those days on the cheap 2-3,000 it was impossible unless it was a no a/c poverty spec cx with a ton of miles. The green one actually doesnt look bad.
I sae this in the theaters when it first came. I remember how people clapped and cheered through out the movie and how it got everyone hyped up! We all hit the streets after, itching to race!😆 I had Mitsubishi Station 2.6 turbo, man I had fun! Everyone street racing after watching the movie made headline news everywhere.
When this movie came out I was just entering high school and I was already into cars. The Fast and the Furious movie just exploded my love for the automotive world. I'm more into motorcycles now but every vehicle that I have owned has been modified in some way. My love for automobiles will never die.
I have a black 1999 Honda Civic DX coupe. I have modeled my car after these heist Civics. I have the ViS Racing GT Bomber body kit, and the Veilside style Kombat dual deck universal spoiler. I also have the green neon under glow lights. I don't think Axis makes the Neo wheels anymore, so I had to settle for a close look alike, the Enkei RPF1 wheels. The only thing I've done under the hood is added a K&N cold air intake, nothing else. I have black tinted windows. I also have a NRG quick disconnect steering wheel hub and steering wheel. I also have a car alarm. I'm saving up my money to do a B18 VTEC engine swap, but that will be awhile. I'd like to get the exact exhaust that is in the movie, but I have no idea which one they used. Everyone and their mom tries to race me, but it's only a weak 4-cylinder stock engine (sad face), so I don't race, just for show. No one understands and I get clowned on, but I don't care because I love the first Fast & The Furious movie. If anyone has any suggestions on which muffler/exhaust that looks most like the movie, please let me know! Thank you for making this video! I really do love and appreciate it. You don't know how long I've been searching for this information! I'd also like to replicate the Eclipse and the Supra if I can ever afford it. Probably never afford it (sad face).
If Craig still has the VIN's, it would be nice to see whatever Carfax or DMV Records he has of them and post them online, and maybe be surprised one car might still exist somewhere waiting to be found and restored.
Would love to see a specific video about the graphics used on the cars in these films. I know some were disliked at launch, but it's hard to argue that they've gotten a better reputation over time.
I bought a '95 Civic EX, 5 speed coupe in '06 & put another good 10 years/125k miles on it before I sold it. That car, if nothing else, was hella reliable & handled pretty decently for stock. As for your Civics in question, years ago one could check a VIN on Carfax to at least see if it was alive & kickin' & what town it's registered in.
There’s a guy that lives in my hometown that actually bought the 3 civics and he had the 240 also. I got to sit in the one with the massive rollcage. His daughter use to work for my family.
I wish someone like you worked on the mad max movies because there is so much missing info about those cars But also because it gives us a better look into the creative process within these movies
Those civics were my favorite, I was 5 when the movie came out... my dad had one at that time, then another, then another one, then another, 19 years later im running my 11th civic... cheap fun

Why not mugen?
I always heard a rumor they were stock d16z6s with a Greddy d-series turbo kit but when he said they only used a 50$ fart cannon it broke my heart lol
Lol i laughed when he said that😂
thats what i thought too , i guess a greedy turbo kit would have been a top setup back in the day ,in my heart they where still boosted
I’m actually relieved that it’s just a fart cannon. It’d hurt more if the engines were actually built/modded only to be destroyed.

I love Fast and Furious you are the reason I love tuners today lol. Im a huge fan of the movie. There was some cool cars in this movie and my favorite car was Letty Burgundy 240sx.
Very well done video. The intro of this movie still gives me chills to this day.
Finally someone who isnt ignorant! Good video
Johnnny tran s2000 video highly requested plz ;D tnx
I second this, it's a legendary tuner car.
Trap Lions it’s basically identical to Suki’s car except the paint and seat covers.

These movies had a big impact on me, and these civics were some of my favorite
Hey I'm a fourteen-year-old new-found car guy and you know it's relieving to finally see one of my favorite movie cars that I can actually make on a relatively cheap budget I'm actually going to try and do this by the time I'm 18 wish me luck people
Very cool. Thanks for sharing the information!
Those civics were awsome! 👍👌😎
I’ve always wondered about these things! So awesome to finally learn about all this stuff after all these years. Thanks for these videos!
Great video and info as always Craig! Thanks a ton for putting these out for us!
Love the VCR in the background!
Love your channel and learning about these sweet iconic cars... :)
Craig thanks for the inside of the movie never knew that put this much time and effort and money to build these cars for this movie wow
If Craig still has the VIN's, it would be nice to see whatever Carfax or DMV Records he has of them and post them online, and maybe be surprised one car might still exist somewhere waiting to be found and restored.
Love these videos. Thanks Craig!
Some true history of a classic film
Crazy enough this was my favorite car. My "beta ark" scooter was inspired on the civic
I have over 200 subscriptions and I look forward to your content the most.
Thank you for these videos!!
This is awesome. Not that bs CGI we get nowadays. This is so genuine.
Man i love the body kits on these civics, 6 year old me was in love with the aggressive look!
Awesome video as always!! You broke my heart when you said they sold for $1K-$3K....I woulda been all over one (or more) at that price
My favourite video from you yet!!!
Would love to see a specific video about the graphics used on the cars in these films. I know some were disliked at launch, but it's hard to argue that they've gotten a better reputation over time.
You know this footage is legit, when the original name Redline was used. I got to be on set for a day it was awesome
Awesome !
Thanks for sharing!
I look forward to more videos.
Those were by far the only civics I'd buy, very Beasty
I bought a '95 Civic EX, 5 speed coupe in '06 & put another good 10 years/125k miles on it before I sold it. That car, if nothing else, was hella reliable & handled pretty decently for stock. As for your Civics in question, years ago one could check a VIN on Carfax to at least see if it was alive & kickin' & what town it's registered in.
Just got a 95 Civic just to make it like these cars! Loved them as a kid. Engine mods...well i’ll just make it what I thought they should have 🤣
There’s a guy that lives in my hometown that actually bought the 3 civics and he had the 240 also. I got to sit in the one with the massive rollcage. His daughter use to work for my family.
Street's closed pizza boy!! Find another way home!! Goddamn street racers.. That was this guy as the pizza man lol
Great video man!! Do more please
Great Content as always! Thank you for these Videos and the effort you put in making them
I wish someone like you worked on the mad max movies because there is so much missing info about those cars
But also because it gives us a better look into the creative process within these movies
Those civics were my favorite, I was 5 when the movie came out... my dad had one at that time, then another, then another one, then another, 19 years later im running my 11th civic... cheap fun
I LOVE your videos, Craig!!! You are the MAN!!! Thanks for doing this for us!!!🙏🏼
These were my favorites. Of the Tuners. There is no replacement for the Charger.
Thanks again for the video, I love these things, such interesting insight into one of the most influential films of my generation.
Literally one of my favorite parts was when he pulls the U turn and peels out!
A Honor watching your Channel! You got a Sub!!!
Love these civics, I'd love to modify one to a movie condition replica.
