By the sound of your reeling you appear to have a no-stretch line. You appear to have no snubber on your line. Your dodger is not a sliding setup. For these soft-mouthed sockeye you've probably experimented with stretchy monofilament, and/or a snubber on your line, and/or a sliding dodger. Great video.
Nice. You inspired me to make my first attempt at fishing the Brewster Pool this last weekend with all these videos. I was fishing from my little fiberglass boat solo; launched in Pateros and was able to anchor up overnight to avoid the saturday morning boat ramp chaos. Had a quick limit of 4 fish on Saturday morning and picked up another couple in less than 2 hours of fishing Sunday morning before it was time to load up and get on the road home. I felt like 6 fish in less than 4 hours of total fishing time on my first time there was a great success; your videos were a big help. I learned a few more things while I was there and will return next year feeling much more confident. My best producing lure this weekend was a pink micro hoochie with a small pink bearing bead in front of it and a small silver smile blade in front of that; used columbia basin bait coon shrimp from Wrights Dollar Plus in Pateros for bait. Had a foul hooked fish snap off that smile blade/micro hoochie setup right at the side of the boat first thing on sunday morning and struggled a bit more without my best producing setup, but now I have a better idea what components to have backups of next time. Anyway, thanks for all the great information; it definitely helped me have a productive weekend of fishing.
@@abeabe9000 I stayed on my boat, it's a 16.5' boat with a small cabin just big enough to roll out a sleeping bag. I anchored part way between Pateros and Brewster on the south side of the river where I mapped out a shallow anchorage outside of the main channel. You have to be careful anchoring there as the current and water levels can change dramatically depending on what the dam is doing. I launched the boat at Ives Landing park in Pateros and left the truck and trailer overnight in the overflow parking next to the train tracks. The bugs were all over the place on the water; I wouldn't want to anchor out like that without a cabin or a screened-in canvas to keep them out. At 25mph, Pateros to the Brewster Pool is like 15 to 20 minutes or so. In my opinion it is worth it for a less hectic experience than the Brewster ramp. The park in Pateros has some docks and a nice little fish cleaning area when it is time to process your catch.
@@abeabe9000 Pateros city hall has information about overnight parking, camping reservations, and all that stuff. The park has a nice restroom and shower facility and the camping/parking costs were very reasonable.
Change of subject, Follow up to your previous videos. Struggled for a bite early. Added a 1oz snap weight to my lead core. Used the shuttle hawk DR trick you taught us on the other line even though I have electric DR's. SO MUCH EASIER. Couldn't get love on a hoochie that I shortened the leader on to 8 inches. Switched to the moon jelly spinner. Long story short, Koke LIMITS to the boat. Oh, I had easy access to all my gear with the Wesley series lure jackets from Mauk Fishing Stuff. I fished smarter, not harder today!! Thank you Tyler!!
Great video! Nice to see Sidra out there with you!! I made it out there last Sunday and went 1/2! Great time. Will be back! Thank you for all of your help and wisdom, I’ve learned so much from your channel!!
Got me inspired to try the kayak at the Pool. Couple of questions, since my kayak is electric powered do i need to register it and get numbers and is there a better place to launch the kayak other than the Brewster launch. Thanks for sharing all your videos.
I like your videos I think they’re awesome i’m going to be ordering some lures from Paulina Peak tackle. Is there something to add to give you the credit for advertising for them? Thanks again.

Same. We fished for hours, got only one Sockeye and one nice wild King. Despite having to turn it loose, the King was the best part. All in all though, it wasn't worth dealing with the idiots and a-holes in the other boats for such little return. Very disappointing.

Yes you need to register your kayak for the Brewster if motorized. This video will address your other questions Kayak Fishing Brewster Pool Sockeye Salmon th-cam.com/video/eJ1Fvt4e2zU/w-d-xo.html
110 degrees. Good news - you won't have to dodge MY boat there this year.

Great video.
I like Sidra you had to bleep her out that was funny. thanks for the show.👍👍👍
We fished Brewster last Friday, 08-02. 3 limits in just over 1.5 hours. There were boats, but not all that bad.
Well done!

@@drewthayer4905 where did you stay/camp with your boat anchored up? How long did it take on the boat from pateros to the pool?

Congrats! Glad to hear of your success. One of the things I’ve learned is to always have two setups of everything
Been a loooooong time since I’ve salmon fished - my poles are just hanging out in my garage - need to replace all my lines - Keep fish guys
I like videos with Sidra in them.
I've also had good luck this year with small smiley blades in pink and green
I love the Prey Together, Stay Together line. In the 90s my father in law had a paintball arena and he advertised with that same line.

There is a small kayak launch at the mouth of the Okanogan. Try to find it on Google maps
What spinner was that? You make it look so easy😊

None but you can make a note on the order
How deep were you fishing?
What's the best setup to target kokanee at 50-60ft deep? Weight, set back & line out? Please help?
just curious what rod holders are you using? are those the folbe holders ? and if the are is it the juniors or the big ones

3 or 4 oz at 30’
