There's a whole other dilemma here too. Carl's whole plan was contingent on the director and Candy believing in a 'Ape-man'. If they never accepted that as a possibility, how long was Carl going to pretend to be this 'Ape-man"? Imagine him trying to terrify Candy and the director just keeps yelling at Carl to knock it off. How long will Carl keep up this façade? He's standing there growling at them and the others are just yelling at Carl to knock if off. (Carl's inside the suit just thinking and sweating "Do I keep this up or do I come clean now and play it off as a bad joke?") Then 10 minutes later, he's in the office getting scolded at by the director. And then he gets fired

@@tfordham13the problem is there were only four people. Candy, the director, a random pa, and Carl. They'd know it's him. Heck they essentially called him out for shaking the bridge. Also gives Carl a LOT more interesting reason to care about not getting a lead role(though since there’s no obvious male or female lead besides him maybe it wouldn’t matter?) cause if he’s the one who drives the plot into porn he’s the one not “getting any” which would I guess in a creepy way make more sense to care about than being a random stunt guy on a movie that looks as bare as can be. Of course no matter what it really does raise questions of why the Scooby gang would even be there if it is an adult movie since daphne’s parents are rich and so are shaggys entire family so it’s not like they probably need to work as long as they can convince even 1 person on any side of 2 families to help them ESPECIALLY if they say “help us or we’re gonna have to become adult actors for money to live.”

I feel like we’re not giving enough credit to Scooby and Shaggy being the episode’s MVPs. Scooby has proven to us that he is the bravest dog ever. Even though he’s not even a real gorilla, most wouldn’t face someone trying to kill you, especially if that person is bigger and stronger than you; yet Scooby defied all expectations by making quick work of the “Ape-Man”, and while cartoon physics were clearly giving him the upper hand, Scooby still had the scooby snacks to punch the “Ape-Man”. And that’s not to mention Shaggy who caught him on camera. This episode is my favorite, not because of the mystery obviously, but because it’s one of the episodes where Shaggy and Scooby play an active role in courageously fighting the monster. They may be cowards, but clearly they are braver than they themselves know..🥰

Me neither, but then again, a lot of older horror films seem to casually include rape scenes, so maybe Maxwell was making a horror movie with a rape scene. That still makes the whole “involving the Scooby Gang on set” very uncomfortable, so they should’ve just said no. Like Joe said, let the production shut down..

Carl's court case must've been a thing of beauty. The ridiculous nature of their crimes means that most Scooby villains would have really interesting trials but this one takes the cake, the thought of lawyers needing to have a serious discussion about Carl leaving a half-eaten hamburger on the floor or locking himself in a trunk is absolutely hilarious. Even Phoenix Wright couldn't get Carl out of this one.

Not to mention, while Carl’s defeat was stupid, an argument could be made that at least he put up a fight, whereas “Charlene” literally walked into an obvious trap and didn’t even try to escape. Carl may be the worst Scooby Doo villain in history, but “Charlene” Wilcox deserves that spot period..

To be fair, Scooby wasn’t scared of Joker and Penguin dressing up as skeletons either during the crossover episode with Batman and Robin; even worse, he thought their “bones” were delicious. Unlike Carl, the duo were smarter enough to run away from a hungry dog, though they shouldn’t have needed to since Scooby is a cowardly dog. It’s honestly pathetic too, cause Joker and Penguin are well known career criminals who committed multiple crimes not the least of which involved mass murder, terrorism, and orchestrating gang violence. For them to not scare Scooby Doo, where most people would be justified to pray to not be found by these two, they really dropped the ball on their terror factor. I know that the Joker and Penguin from the 60s are a different breed from their current counterparts, but the original Joker from his first comic appearance was a gangster so there still is a bit of violence in his list of crimes in his silver age appearance. The way I see it, Scooby is clearly underestimating his own strength: if the Joker and Penguin can’t scare you, then nobody should..

So either John’s film crew are bigger cowards than Scooby and Shaggy or they dipped for better pay and safety measures somewhere else. It's a good thing this channel is just a hobby.
I'd hate to be at the mercy of TH-cam's algorithms if this was my only source of income.
Most of the content creators I follow have been hurt at one time or another by how badly TH-cam promotes their channels.
      Thank you for the view!

Where can I find the cover of the Scooby Doo theme you used in your "Crimes of the Scooby Gang" videos?

If it's the track I'm thinking of, it's from a sadly out-of-print release of the "Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost" soundtrack album.

@@JoeGoesOver can you do more videos of dumb Scooby villains? For example Sarah from Foul Play in Funland. She cost her brother and herself thousands of dollars in damages with Charlie and only because she didn’t want him to replace the workers. And Scooby and the gang were literally able to get that point across with just one conversation! Did it not cross her mind to just talk to Mr. Jenkins?!

Oof, twice in the stomach. Dude is lucky his ugly bald head isn’t in Super Mario, cause that injury would probably cost him his life as simple as Mario jumping on a Goomba’s head, or that he ain’t in Roblox, cause that stomach hit by Shaggy would probably be enough to produce the iconic death sound effect that any Roblox player will tell you they know all too well (if you didn’t get the reference, the Oof at the beginning of this comment should give you the answer)..😂

If you're that interested in the Oof sound, and you have two hours to kill, this is a fascinating and hilarious video about it:
