I have only 2 singular gripes with this masterpiece of a game=. 1. We didn't play this section of the game, we could really use a victory lap of "redacted" carrying Mad Rat. 2. This game is one of the most underrated and unheard rhythm game in the entire industry, it's a downright crime. This ought to be remembered even more than Hi Fi Rush.
I join the list of lucky people who got to play this to the very end. It's one of those tunes that evokes a feeling of sadness and at the same time some bittersweet joy to at least spare them from a worse fate. It has been ages since I have felt so connected to a video game's characters. A true masterpiece.

The visuals help bring this point across, too, but I can still make out that meaning just by listening to it! Also a vocal cover of this track by TOPHAMHATKYO would slap.
In all seriousness, I’ve never cried at a video game. I’ve cried at movies, cartoons, everything except games. When I tell you I BAWLED at the ending of this game, I mean it. This game seriously has amazing character development, the plot is really creative, and the characters themselves are just- MWAH. The art is super pleasing for my artist eyes as well. I never thought this game of all games was going to be the one that made me sob, but great job game creators, y’all have made an INCREDIBLE game.

when i played this game last year i genuinely didn't think a game about a rat would actually make me emotional. i remember being reccommended this game because everyone knows i love rats and mice, but i kinda went eh, and forgot until it released. played it, and needless to say i fell in love immediately. it's been almost a year now, and i think about this game still.

tfw you expect funny rat game but then you get an actually really well-done and emotional narrative about the value of life, the bittersweetness of mortality and the power of friendship. and cheese u_u jokes aside, I love how this song really does have the vibes of the credits rolling and the actors leaving the stage, it's a perfect wrap-up for Heart and Mad Rat's tale. I really wish this game was more popular, not just for the music but for the amazing story, visuals and characters. Also, thanks Mr. Iwasaki
I’m still thinking of the lyrics but how this song goes in my head Spoilers obviously 0:00-0:16 - Mad Rat talking to himself as he prepares to die 0:16 - time rewinds to the start of the story 0:16-0:32 - Rat God appears and tells him she’ll give him a second chance and how to rewind time 0:32-0:47 - He tells her he's made him mind his he’s gonna get revenge on the scientist 0:48-1:03 - she tries to convince him he’d rather go outside, tells him to listen to his heart 1:03-1:18 - Heart talks (to the beat of course) and tells him to do what he wants, he’ll support him 1:19-1:33 - Mad Rat announces he’ll get his revenge in a way that betrays his descend into insanity 1:33-1:50 - Chorus of the song about being trapped between the choices of our minds and our hearts 1:50-2:12 - Asking Mad Rat who he really wants to be, as he remembers the mob rats, watches (and saves) the cat, the girl, and at the last part, watches the scientist do his work 2:12-2:28 - Mad Rat fighting the Rat God arguing it's wrong others should die just so they can live 2:28-2:45 - The chorus again about choosing between your mind and your heart 2:45-3:05 - Back to the start, Mad Rat decides he made the right choice even if it sucks, Heart (the piano) comes in and asks if he can spend Rat’s final moments with him

im pretty sure but not certain that this contains mini moon wich would make sence simce both are the final song mini moon without rat god turning back time mad rat would have died after this song outside is the true final song where mad rat and heart enjoy their last day togheter
It makes sense, really. The parasite was living in Heart, but the IRL description is that it's harmless to cats. When they transplanted it into Mad Rat, it affected him and made him hallucinate.

I seriously don't know how this song can make me cry so freaking much... I've gotten teary-eyed at shows and movies before, but never have I straight up cried. It's just- they way mad rat comes to terms with his own death, and passing on the opportunity to live forever by just rewinding, knowing that this isn't the point of being alive... the way the music keeps being so melancholically upbeat instead of going full cliché world's smallest violin. It's almost as if the game was giving you a gentle pat on the back, saying "it's ok to be sad, bud. As long as you move on." I'm so glad this stupid silly little great game exists. It literally defines Cape Diem.

I’ve been trying to boost it by making short lil animations, and it’s actually kinda working! I’ve heard a lot more people talking about this game and hopefully that continues, Alexia Bobadilla gave it a boost and I’m happy about that, see you in a year when this game is huge, *partner*
