Almost of every stadium in Asia was built and owned by government, unlike in Europe or South America when the clubs themselves build and own the stadium. And since it was owned by the government, they want it to be used as more often as possible. So decided to build stadiums with athletics track in hope the stadiums could be used to host not only football matches, so it'll give them more income. In fact only a few countries in Asia use them properly. But there are numbers of professional football clubs in Asia who build and own their stadium with their money without any help of government like the European and South American clubs did, but mostly of them are in more advanced country like Japan, South Korea, and Thailand because most of the football clubs there are having stable financial condition unlike the rest of Asian clubs.
