Yes!! I got those from a girl last summer and I cut all the arms off to sell them and I figured by now it would have made more arms but so far nothing. I expect that this summer/spring they will start showing up.
You can buy regular potting soil and then a bag of perlite and mix it together, both of those are usually at Home Depot or Lowe’s. You can also mix in chicken grit and get that at Tractor Supply Store but it’s heavier. I have a video on how to make a good soil mixture if you’re interested.

You don’t even need soil til later.

I actually have a video on how I make my soil mixtures but most of the time I just make my own mix using 50% potting soil and 50% perlite
