@@aussie870 I think you mean "Bayerischer Defiliermarsch" by Adolf Scherzer. This Defiliermarsch (version AM II 168) is by the Prussian/Silesian Carl Faust. There are a ton of works that go by the name "Defiliermarsch"!
For me helenenmarsch is the best and sedan-marsch also i do like ,admittedly, koniggrazter especialy the one this chanel has but the one that marschliedkanal had was also really cool oh and that unique one dr.Ludwig had and now reichspunker has it on his channel i believe.

In the Frank Capra "Why We Fight" series, a rather protracted version of this march serves as background music for Nazi newsreel films of marching storm troopers, etc. (The beginning Da-dum Da-dum Da-da-da-da) is played over and over again, with no respite.
Capra’s brilliant use of this march in “Why We Fight: Prelude to War” repeating over and over, to mind numbing effect as endless columns of nazi troops march past is, I think, his way of leaving the viewer overwhelmed like every man woman and child in nazi Germany was a zombie in uniform and coming for the American viewing audience. The combined effect of the picture and music edits is to leave the viewer dazed and uneasy
I agree. Having watched it many times, the fade out from a crowd of Germans watching a parade fade to a blackened globe, in which the narrator intones: "And so it is in that other world". Very effective.
As a former trombone player you are absolutely correct. They have to be CONSTANTLY moving those slides to the exact positions they need. That takes lots of energy in addition to blowing all the time.
Mmmmmm Western Propaganda marching videos ❤️ I think I watched the VHS tape about this so many times it broke. Three cheers for war! And something else along that line lol. Man I'm a sucker for old wartime newsreels.
@ruhrpottkanake the glockenspiel that they use for parades is miniaturised it is carried in one hand and then the other hand has little Mallet that you hit it adds a certain flavor to the music
Don’t try so sell facts, if they are simple not true. It is indeed a Prussian march by Carl Faust (AM II, Nr. 126). Bayern has it’s own Defiliermarsch, called Bayerischer Defiliermarsch by Adolf Scherzer (AM II, Nr. 146). Your last point has no correlation and makes no sense, Prussian marches were just the most influential.
Bruh how'd these guys come up with such catchy marching songs, the Prussian military culture was just something else.
This march isn't even really Prussian, it is actually a Bavarian march. It does sound very Prussian in nature though which is great!

There are also russian, french and plenty of other marches that sound similar to these.
That Glockenspiel though. Most badass instrument of the German military.

this is probably the most iconic Prussian march other than Preußens Gloria, you can hear this march a lot, especially in newsreels
