Didn't know you were touring and missed you. Come back and play in your own backyard again please! I did see Elise Trouw at the Troubadour. Thanks for that introduction!
It has been a joy to see my former guitar and drum student Elise take over the world. She was always super focussed and had her eyes on the prize. You go, Elisey.
What I love about this version is that Elise was being Elise and Dave was being Dave. No one tried to be someone else. Loved the Daryl Oates feel on this song!!
Thing I notice instantly with Elise’s vocals is how impeccable her timing is. Guess this is what you get with an individual who’s equally talented as a drummer and vocalist. Great stuff. 😊🤙🏼
When I saw this video in my YT feed, I think I clicked it before I even finished reading the title. My instincts were right. What a fantastic version of this song. Elise's voice is so captivating, and Dave is phenomenal as usual. One of my favorite parts of watching Scary Pockets videos is how much fun the musicians are having. The joy of music.
Anyone comment on how great the drummer is? The fact that he's playing the drums dynamically to fit the room and the band, instead of just bashing away loudly like most drummers.
This 80s kid was dancing and singing harmonies to this one!!!aaaaaaaaaah so good! Also please tell Elise he transitions into the lower notes are *chef’s kiss* flawless. So smooth!
So great to see one of my all-time favorites Dave Koz with the incredible Scary Pockets gang. Elise's perfectly measured vocals are sublime as always. Could you please do more of this great combo.
I feel so unsure As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor As the music dies, something in your eyes Calls to mind a silver screen And all its sad good-byes I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should've known better than to cheat a friend And waste the chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you, oh Time can never mend The careless whispers of a good friend To the heart and mind Ignorance is kind There's no comfort in the truth Pain is all you'll find I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should've known better than to cheat a friend (should've known better, yeah) And waste the chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you, oh Never without your love Tonight the music seems so loud I wish that we could lose this crowd Maybe it's better this way We'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say We could have been so good together We could have lived this dance forever But now, who's gonna dance with me? Please stay And I'm never gonna dance again Guilty feet have got no rhythm Though it's easy to pretend I know you're not a fool I should've known better than to cheat a friend And waste the chance that I'd been given So I'm never gonna dance again The way I danced with you, oh now that you're gone (Now that you're gone) was what I did so wrong, so wrong That you had to leave me alone?
Love this. Jack always looks solo happy grooving with other musicians. So ask watch this, I also think Elise could play all the parts on a live loop except the sax (and I wouldn't be surprised if she could play that too).
when I saw this video, I was immediately drawn in, wondering how you would 'funk up' a song with such an iconic musical number. But I was soon grooving along and loving everything I heard. Great job.
I’ve started learning piano playing this year but one day I definitely want to become a part of such a band and play such a masterpiece!! Absolutely incredible!! ❤
This is a great example of "the company you keep". IMHO, Elise is a much better singer when she has a great ensemble backing her. Thanks for an excellent performance and for pulling together a wonderful group of musicians.
Different to the original but a great version still! Michael was such a talent - such an accomplished song for such an early period in his career! I'm pretty sure Michael was only 22-23 when he wrote this masterpiece. Sounds like a song an artist with decades of experience would write.
I was not a huge fan of this song on first listen, which is surprising to me because I love the original, Elise and scary pockets. But now I'm really feeling the groove and loving that Koz is here killing it after being "sax guy" for postmodern jukebox. Keep it up everyone!
Funk me!!! I remember having a copy of Dave Koz's promo tape - NOT FOR SALE Dang, I'm feeling old watching this. Dave, you're killing it. Elise, you're killing it. Pockets, ya'll are killin' it! Thanks for the funk cover; help a man feel a bit younger. God bless and keep up the awesome collaborations.

Don't worry, I already have mine. See you in Tivoli, the Netherlands
We want you in Mexico! it will be an awesome experience!
Please do a concert in Colorado. Red rocks would be amazing
This sax player is a master of his craft.
you should see his solo battle with chris tile at Vulfpeck MSG, insane shit
That sax player is just so God damn cool.
Yes. Lilting, lovely, languid, luscious longing.

Just watched it and it really gave me the chills! So amazing!!!! Ty for this!

And yes, she is taking over the world ❤
She's getting around and up and coming!!
The interplay of Elise's voice and the saxophone is gorgeous, just as is this whole performance.
He's so good. Made it his own medoly
This is what I wanted to write. Your words just said it so much better.
@@gregtomamichel973 Haha, we have he same mind i guess
the sax player is simply incredible
You know Koz has been around with many albums?
Elise and Dave have a sound that fits so well together it's CRAZY!
YEAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
my two favorite SP collaborators
This is the second time around!
Seeing how everybody is just vibing and having a good time genuinely makes me happy
I didn't know I needed a Careless Whisper / Ducktales mashup until now.
No ta. Trashed.
lol 😆
I was thinking Careless Whisper / You Make My Dreams by Hall and Oates
The accuracy of this comment had me chuckling, LOL
😂👏👏
What I love about this version is that Elise was being Elise and Dave was being Dave. No one tried to be someone else. Loved the Daryl Oates feel on this song!!
Thing I notice instantly with Elise’s vocals is how impeccable her timing is. Guess this is what you get with an individual who’s equally talented as a drummer and vocalist. Great stuff. 😊🤙🏼
Her sense of timing is probably due to all the live looping songs she does. Timing must be precise otherwise it all goes downhill with digital looping
It feels like it’s another one of her instruments.
Dave Koz playing the most instantly-recognizable sax riff of the last 50 years? Iconic! Great version, Pockets!
I see Elise, I see Careless Whisper. I hear a funky Carless Whisper. This day is blessed❤
Dave's soloing relentlessness coupled with Elise's simplicity is the perfect match! Bravo guys&gals
Sound like it could be mixed with 'Maneater'!
Oooooo it does have Maneater vibe, good call!
Pomplamoose should get on that!
I thought the same thing and checked the title 10 seconds in to see if they were going a mixup since Elise was singing.
This girl is amazing! She sings so relaxed! It's really awesome!
Is it weird how happy I am to see how happy the piano player is???
My first thought was "I'll have whatever the keyboard player is having" lol
No appropriate 👍
You should see how happy Jon Batiste gets
The joy in that room is contagious.
Elize Trouw and Dave Koz are both in my Scary pockets dream lineup. Her voice is spine-tingling and goes so well with the sax!
All Instruments were Sounding Grand. Voice was Astounding. Thank you
RIP. GeorgeMichael. Elise a talented instrumentalist with a flexible lowered voice, all with the great Dave.
You know Scary Pockets hit the big time when they're pulling Dave Koz into the studio!!! Bravo
Epic ensemble, Dave Koz & Elise Trouw... this version hit the spot like a cold beer on a hot day!
Anyone comment on how great the drummer is? The fact that he's playing the drums dynamically to fit the room and the band, instead of just bashing away loudly like most drummers.
Careless Whisper happy version.Wish George could hear this.I love her smooth voice.Greetings from Shanghai.
Ryan's guitar tone is so gnarly on this. Love it.
I thought there was a bari sax at first.
Yea, it’s awesome… I wonder how he got that tone… so laid back funky
Please never stop these colabs with Elise
Been following Elise Trouw since 2016 and so happy to see her with Scary Pockets ❤️✨🙌🏻🌷
George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley wrote the original when they were 17 years old... Incredible
I am from Brazil, and I love listening to these songs.
Dave and Elise together is pure magic!
Dave Koz is a legend.
Hadn't seen Elise in forever and when I saw she wasn't on drums I was surprised to say the least but look at her sing! Awesome!
Elise.... top notch of Scary Pockets. Permanent member now !
Aaaaaaaaah! Elise!💗💗💗💯😻 & Dave👏👏👏❣️💖 Thank you so MUCH Scary Pockets🙌🎉👏👍💓😀😁😄😂😊😉😍😎🤓😜😝🤗
Elise Trouw and Dave Koz LET'S GOOOO! I'm going to need a lot more songs with them
They also recorded and published "The Less I Know The Better ".
@@tubekrake I forgot Dave Koz was on that but I know that song it's another jam
YESSS! I NEED TOO!
Trouw Koz would be a dope name for a group too
Elise voice 😮 😮 😮
great performance, and of course beyond the nice voice from Elise... that way to play from the "teacher" Dave Koz, its amazing
This lineup is fantastic. Loved the Tame Impala cover by this group too... the vocals and sax are just perfect.
Awesome!!!!!

I feel so unsure
As I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
As the music dies, something in your eyes
Calls to mind a silver screen
And all its sad good-byes
I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should've known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you, oh
Time can never mend
The careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind
Ignorance is kind
There's no comfort in the truth
Pain is all you'll find
I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should've known better than to cheat a friend (should've known better, yeah)
And waste the chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you, oh
Never without your love
Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say
We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But now, who's gonna dance with me?
Please stay
And I'm never gonna dance again
Guilty feet have got no rhythm
Though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool
I should've known better than to cheat a friend
And waste the chance that I'd been given
So I'm never gonna dance again
The way I danced with you, oh
now that you're gone
(Now that you're gone) was what I did so wrong, so wrong
That you had to leave me alone?
Delightful as always. Y'all have a knack for taking songs that I don't really care for much and turning them into something I very much care for.
Been listening to Mr. Koz for decades, discovered Miss Trouw last year. Both are amazing - awesome to see & hear them together!
Superbe reprise, des souvenirs inoubliable.merci beaucoup
always love jack conte energy
Jack's pure joyous smile after Dave's solo @ 2:28 was so glorious
I don't think I've seen anyone enjoy music as much as that man. Ever.
Yep! I wish everyone that feeling. Looks amazing.
Pointer Sisters vibes! Great job EVERYONE!👏👏👏👏👏
Dave is a very nice addition! Wonderful choice! ( Elise is, of course, a given!)
Dave Koz and Elise are always a win in my book
Beautiful view of Dave Koz his reed in that last shot. His reed maintenance doesn't seem to be in the same ballpark as his hair. Very fungy
Wow….Elise is fantastic 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Another sensational version! They play a lot! And Elise is my favorite singer!

Elise Trouw and Dave Koz Together again. Always epic. Saw Scary Pockets this weekend in Denver. Awesome show.
I never thought I'd say Careless Whisper is such a toe tapper that I can't stop listening to!
YASSSSSS!!! LOVE the improv..let those awesome musicians you know loose!!! Thank you so much, that was wonderful...top notch music.
Elise is breathtaking. Again in love
Very nice! Dave Koz is the BEST! I really miss the whole Smooth Jazz scene. It used to be the only radio stations I listened to.
This is a great example of "the company you keep". IMHO, Elise is a much better singer when she has a great ensemble backing her. Thanks for an excellent performance and for pulling together a wonderful group of musicians.
love that happy beat/groove, also the singing and sax. the irony of a sad song with a happy beat.
Elise Trouw is so wonderful.
I enjoyed this quick whisper.
Nothing careless about it!
Very fresh.
Scary pockets = good

Grew up listening to Dave Koz when everyone else was obsessed with Kenny G. Missed the 90s.

Ok the sax is the star of the show here!! Love the sound - thanks for the new tune!
My favorite singer singing the most sentimental song ever. What's not to like?
The post recording edit is spot on. Sound room guys knocked this out of the park. Good looking recording studio.
I knew the song had more potential than a pop song. Scary Pockets realized it and knocked it out the park
Elise is back! And crushing it, as usual.
This is the best son cover I've heard from them
This is just so good. It's like you added Duck Tales to Careless Whisper with the amazing Elise Trouw.
That was amazing, what a brilliant arrangement. Love Elise Trouw singing. More, more, more... please
Somebody get this sax guy a trophy please
