In H/S we all made friends with the Police. When we asked about one we hadn't seen in a few days, we were told he took a leave. A few weeks later we were told he left the Dept. Reason why, he and his partner were called to a car accident. When he approached, he saw a child who was not buckled in properly half way thru the windshield. It literally destroyed him.

I think the issue here is the multiple substances. I have had times when I was so genuinely tired, just for a few minutes, something unsafe had the potential to happen. For instance, I fell asleep on the couch, after two days of exams, absolutely exhausted, at about 4 PM, only to wake up at 1 AM and realized I needed to put my kids to bed. I’m sure we’ve all had a moment when some instinct kicked in and we all of a sudden realized we needed to check on our kids, or dogs, or Cats, or partner. And I think those instincts are pretty powerful. But when you take one or more substances, those instincts can’t work the way they need to. I think if they had simply been extremely tired, that, for instance, the mother, might have fallen asleep for an hour or so, and then something would’ve prompted her to wake up, feeling that something wasn’t right, check on her kids, and go out to find her sleeping toddler. Any warm, but not deadly car, and bring them in before any harm is done.

Imagine the extreme pain and panic and terror these babies and toddlers feel upon waking up because something is wrong! …I’m in a hot car, and no matter how much I try, or how loudly I still have the energy to cry, NO ONE is opening the door and NO ONE is getting me out of here!! 😮😢😫😖🥺😢😭😣😵‍💫😩😭😰😱❤️‍🩹
This is truly a horrific death!!!!!! The sheriff is correct!!!!! 😢😭😢😭😢😭😢😭😢😭

I found a dog 🐕 dying from heat exhaustion in a hot car in a mall parking lot; he was prostrate laying on the floor. I had the car owners paged through the mall, but no one came so I bashed the window in with a rock and pulled him out.
I had taken him into the air conditioned mall and staff brought water; we soaked him down and was giving him some water when the people were walking out. They were angry that I had broken the window to SAVE THEIR DOG! RCMP arrived and arrested them for animal cruelty.

And it doesn't matter what the temp is, it could be a mild cloudy 70F and they go nutty. 🙄
But what these parents did is sad. The pain of losing a child is immeasurable, and to have that happen at your own lack of judgment, weakness, addiction, whatever they want to call it. I can't fathom the added weight of pain that is added because they were the direct reason for their child's death.

@@TwitX2007 I'm not defending them, but clearly these two didn't grow up in the best environments. So they likely both became normalized to drug use, which normalized addiction, which led to them thinking it's all normal and their child would be fine growing up in this environment.
It's sad that this becomes the norm. But I've told my children and others looking for life advice. You are who you associate with. Hang around people who care and offer you something, and that you care for and can also offer them something. If you hang around thugs, you shouldn't expect to become the CEO of a top company, become a full partner of a law firm etc.

I looked into the truck they were agitated about and there was a baby red and SCREAMING, the temperature was well over 80 outside, truck door locked, no one in sight.
I called the police...even though i was told they had already been called.
I was told they were aware and would be there soon with a great deal of irritation on their part.
5 minutes later I called back but THIS time told the dispatcher that there was a woman smashing ALL the windows in a new truck and she seemed upset about something and SOMEONE should do something about it.
Then I hung up and got my tire iron.
Police arrived for THAT call...and the officer had NO idea there was a baby involved. I was almost arrested until the rest of the women started screaming at him!
And then the mother strolled out with shopping bags.
Believe me, it was a good thing for HER the police had already arrived when the rest of the women realized who she was!

So before going to sleep, neither “parent” felt the need to check on the baby, feed her or give her a bottle, change her diaper/clothes before putting her in bed? Each of them just assumed the other parent had done it, didn’t bother confirming or checking with one another?? And this was after taking their 3 young children to a party where people were doing drugs, staying out until 2am despite the kids probably being exhausted, and driving home intoxicated. With the level of negligence that just seemed to be the norm for these people, it seems like it was only a matter of time before something tragic happened to one of these kids. It would’ve been so much better if these idiots had been pulled over and arrested for driving drunk & high that night and had the kids taken away from them then instead of their baby girl dying an agonizing death in a boiling car while these so called parents slept in. I know there have been cases where tragedies like this happen due to genuine mistakes or miscommunication, but this is not just a tragic mistake. If either of them had cared enough to check on their 1 year old and make sure she was at least IN THE HOUSE before they went to bed, this would have been prevented. Rest In Peace little one.
