    I love your watercolours. You have inspired me, I was always scared to try them, I have been watching you painting for days now and I can't wait to try........thank you so much...and I'm glad it's not just me who fills my on-line shopping cart and doesn't press the button !

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha, yes. it's called the shopping cart syndrome! a serious disease that could lead to permanent damage such as "empty pockets" (which you never recover from). as for your watercolor painting, don't wait anymore. just do it! the worse that can happen is that you have fun doing it :-)

    Hi Ceecee I love looking at what people buy for art for themselves! I have brushes in my basket for a long time! I recently bought an eraser called Four in One by Vanish. It works incredible good. I put a whole bunch of Faber blue pencils and did the eraser test with a stripe through them. This eraser is SOFT. It gently wiped away the various blues and I penciled them all in from hard to medium. With the ultramarine pencil I was left with some vary faint staining. I compared that to my usual white eraser and the usual one seemed to get up more of the staining, but it can ruff up the paper. The 4-1 smells stinky so it has a little box it comes in that you can tear off the top, but I keep mine closed. Works nice too on dry watercolors but I don’t rub hard to see if it gets up a stain color. Thanks for-the tip to jetpens. I will look around your sites and see if there are better art shops than Blicks, and Artarama. Bye!

    Here in upstate NY I buy most of my watercolor supplies on Amazon, much cheaper than in the one art store half hour away, plus free shipping on Prime. I also buy online from Jerrysartarama and Jetpens, again, free shipping if I meet a required amount, so of course I have to force myself to meet that level. Lol. As far as Canadian prices vs here, it really varies with the value of the dollar. My husband sells used tractors and done years we go to Canada to buy, but the last few years our Canadian customers are coming down to us for machines and parts. glad you enjoyed FL, which is an acquired taste, one I have yet to acquire, preferring the southwest states for warm vacations. Love your work, this is for sharing.

    Ah another which dropped in. I hope artists dont give up Youtubr and move solely to IG. I wouldnt have a clue about that as YT is all I follow. Pleasure listening to you show your shopping trip goodies. Its always fun doing that especially as in Australia you have to wait weeks to get anything and postage is horrendous!!!! I googled your Prismacolour magic eraser and its for lifting graphite and erasing India Ink... loved that pink flower painting CeeCee pity YTubers wont get to see it. Thanks so much even 2 years late with my comments🥰🤗

    Yes, Gum Arabic in liquid form. Gum Arabic is the binder for watercolors, so the watercolors have no problem adhering to it. Just a light brushing of the page, then let it dry. That should help you out.

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh, i see! thank you for the tip. i'll try it.

  • @miriammoore1261
    @miriammoore1261 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    For your coloring book, if you want to watercolor the page, give the page a light wash of Gum Arabic. This will protect the paper and keep it from being a "blotter of the Watercolor". Be sure to let it dry before you paint.

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      gum arabic in liquid form? never would have thought to use that. and the watercolor adheres to the gum arabic?

    CeeCee that breath journal is sooooo you!! lol I went to Ohio to visit my daughter and grandkids. I have a few Hobby Lobby's here in my area. They have been pretty cleaned out since Creativation ended and HL Clearance started before inventory. Anyway, when I went to Ohio I got almost every single ink that you showed. I couldn't say NO to that price. It was insane. Here, I got LOADS of paint brushes that were on clearance. I can't wait to play with them all! OMG I love that 2nd painting starburst flowers. Being in a confined car for long periods, toxins build up in the lymph nodes and lack of movement keeps them from being stimulated and releasing. It feels like the flu when the built up toxins hit your system. 😁 same thing happens after a lymphatic message.

    I love hearing you say "warm" 😂 I live in Florida. I'm not surprised you haven't felt good. Florida has the most bipolar weather ever especially in the county I live in which is almost entirely surrounded by water. One day it's 90° then chilly enough at night for a jacket (for floridians) then the next day it's 90° again and 85° at night. We always say keep a variety of clothes and shoes in your car because going outside is no indication of what it'll be like in an hour. Especially this time of year. I have a sweatshirt, flip flops, tank top, and rain boots in my car right now. Those paints are so beautiful! I don't use metallics, iridescents, or shimmers but I LOVE looking at them. Every now and then I'll throw some in if I'm doing a layout that's beach related but that's about it.

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      haha, but i'll take your weather over what we have during the winter. it was a wonderful break from the bitter cold and snow. but florida is not the only place where the weather fluctuates. it was a spring day yesterday here in montreal and now we have a mix of freezing rain and snow. wishing you a wonderful week!

    • @stephaniem999
      @stephaniem999 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      creationsceecee I'm no fan of the cold and when the temp drops below 70° I'm very uncomfortable so I do feel fortunate this time of year. But I've lived in florida almost my whole life so I had no idea that other places had such bipolar weather also 😂. Back to the closet I've clearly been living in now. Lots of love

    When did you stop writing your name on your artwork and start using the stamp? Why? What inspired the design?

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's not a stamp, although i do have one that i carved myself. all of these pieces were signed by hand. my old signature looked like it said "ceepee" instead of "ceecee" and i wanted something a bit oriental looking so designed a new one. i'm hoping one day i'll find the means to have a more detailed stamp than the one i handcarved.

    CeeCee, Missed you, but I did catch up on most of your videos...so fun! Glad to have you back! I took your watercolor carving class, Love it. I'm just starting my creation.. Got my fingers crossed it turns out.
    I do have a couple of questions. All of your watercolor art seems to be nice and flat mine warps quite a bit. I am using Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper. Also what type of tape do you use to get the nice frame around your pieces? Any advice would be appreciated.

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      thank you for following my class! i hope you'll enjoy the process. as for warping, it comes when you add a lot of water, especially if it pools in certain spots and not evenly throughout the paper. but since i tend to use a lot of water, mine warps too. i just make sure i weigh it down with some heavy books after it dries before taking a picture. it will eventually come back flat. the paper you are using is the same as i use for most of my paintings... you don't need expensive paper. the tape i would recommend is either painter's tape or drafting tape. they are ready to use and do the job well. however, make sure you seal the corners really well as it is where the paint wants to go. also, proceed with caution when remove it so as not to tear the paper. the aid of a heat tool or a blow dryer helps soften up the glue and the tape will pull away easily. hope that helps!

    • @jonihorn6515
      @jonihorn6515 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you CeeCee. Great tip on the tape. I would not have thought of warming the tape.

  • @qso3566
    @qso3566 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hello! Could you please answer a couple of questions: I'm new to watercolor and am using Canson 140 lb. but it buckles even though I'm taping it down. I've heard that some people iron their piece after completion. Is that what you do? And also, the piece you show in the beginning of this video appears to have a nice low sheen to it. Do you spray it with a fixative? Thank you!

    • @creationsceecee
      @creationsceecee  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      hi! i use the same paper as you quite often and the buckling is almost inevitable unless you go through the pain of stretching and tacking it down with real watercolor adhesive strips. it's a very tedious process and i am not a big fan. you can also wet the back of your paper before you start working on the front and then use drafting tape to hold it down on a surface. i just forget to do that all the time. and most of my pieces will go back flat if i let them dry completely before i remove the tape. however, if the warping is major, you can always weigh down your piece under heavy books for about a week or so and it will help a lot. remember, the more water you use, the more buckling you'll get. p.s.: i would be very careful when ironing so as not to disturb the colors.

    • @qso3566
      @qso3566 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@creationsceecee Hi, thanks much for that info! I would never guess your pieces buckle because it doesn't show in the videos, but kind of glad to know you have the same issue, lol. Yes, I think you would have to iron very carefully. Regards!

    New to your channel. Glad you had a wonderful trip! I love your artwork - so beautiful! I was watching one of your days of Christmas coloring page vids. You had the image on Bristol paper. How did you do that? Do you have a special printer for heavy paper or did you draw it on the Bristol paper? I haven't done mixed media yet so just learning. I am not a drawing artist so on thicker paper do I use graphite paper even on watercolor paper? I checked out your etsy store and may want to buy some coloring pages. Thanks so much and welcome back!

      welcome to the channel! i have a Canon Pixma Pro 100 printer that allows me to print on thick paper. they are quite pricey but worth the investment in my case. i print my own prints to give to my Patreon supporters so it allows me to control the quality of the prints. if you don't have a printer with a manual feed, graphite paper is the easiest option and will transfer unto any type of paper. also, you can a light box or hold the design under the paper against a window. hope that helps and i hope you'll enjoy the rest of my videos!

    Hey CeeCeeeee!! Good to "see" you!! So glad you had an amazing trip! Wow you guys drove there? Now thats a road trip! lol. Glad you're feeling better. And here goes my "point system" comment...you know how I do lmao. Gotta type as I watch! (this will probably go into spam lol)...About the prices out there..I was waiting for you to have this massive haul form all the awesome US places we always hear about. Womp Womp. lol. But I do love everything you got! Interesting to know the online stuff is cheaper. Did you go to Tuesday Morning? That place seems super cheap. Congrats on quitting the job CeeCee! Definitely a scary thing to do, but I think you're gonna do amazing without it and now you're 100% your own boss! How great is that? Such a wonderful accomplishment. OMG the finetec! Those are so frikkin gorgeous! I think I'm definitely gonna do a watercolor piece today. You've totally inspired me! That eraser looks so awesome too! Let me know how that works. FW ink for $1.49??? OMG! I woulda bought every single color lol. The washi is soooo cute! I've been looking for that tulip pallette!! I've gotta check online. That coloring book is amazing!!! (I still think you need to do one. No joke!). That planner is SO you! It's gorgeous. Your cityscape "practice piece"...sheeeiiiiitttt lol. Thats a masterpiece! I would have never even noticed the window part! Love love love it so much! I love all your swatch and practice sheets. Loved the vlog CeeCee! Great way to start my day :) Miss ur face! xoxo

      hey giiiiiiirrrrlll! nice to read you :-) your comment didn't go into spam lol. sorry about the small haul; i am on a very strict budget and try to buy only what i know i'll use for sure. i walked into one Tuesday Morning and i didn't find anything at all. maybe it's in the area i was in, i don't know. the highlight of all my purchases was definitely the acrylic inks for sure and being able to order from JetPens without worrying about customs charges. aaaah yeah! thanks so much for your sweet comments about the paintings. i do enjoy the cityscape piece a lot, mistakes or not. it taught me a lot and also confirmed the fact that i love working with lines and lots of details. enjoy the watercoloring.... and now i'm brought back to last summer when you, lucy and i were watercoloring around my kitchen table, being comforted by having friends with me through a rough time in my life. precious moments.
      have a lovely day, Sammie! smooches and hugs!

    Its beautiful. So you teach watercolor on patreon? I have been drawing/ painting unprofessionally since high school and I'm 41. Watercolor has always been the live of my life but never had a real education on it. I did live nude drawing and portraiture in collage . I really like your simple style of your painting so I am interested in checking you out on patreon. Do you teach it ? Or just paint. Without much education ? No rush for reply, when you have time let me know. Thanks so much.

      thank you, Lisa, for your comment and for considering being a support. basically, Patreon is the "one-stop-shop" for all the art i make and more. i share photos, exclusive videos, advance release of my youtube vids, exclusive vlogs and have plans for more fun stuff. i am self-taught and although i make art every day, i have so much more to learn. however, what i share on Patreon are more in-depth studies, more real time footage and with more explanations. they are not classes per say but i do offer a sketch of the artwork of the month as bonus rewards as well as high resolution photos of the artwork and supplies list etc. and depending on the level of pledge you choose, you can get up to 4 exclusive videos a month. you can check out my feed at www.patreon.com/creationsceecee . hope to see you there!
