My wife and I saw these guys,of the MANY times I've seen them over the years, back in 2015,and two months later,Cory passed away!He was so full of energy right up to the end!!!Loved his magic!Of all the 3-dog night concerts I've been to,I shall always remember that one in a special way!!!THANKS,CORY!!!
Devastated! Incredible singer, fisherman, family man, and performer. It was such a shock to lose Jimmy earlier this year and now Cory. The world is a lesser place. Three Dog Night made an incredible impact on the lives of so many of us.
Cory, you had a tremendously powerful soulful voice. I enjoyed you tremendously with Three Dog Night. You took my heart every time you sang Try A Little Tenderness. RIP
From June of 69 to may of 73 I was in a military academy for high school. Crappy time time and even worse place. Three Dog Night helped me get through that.
I loved seeing this interview, and am so sad that I will never again have the chance to see him or hear him. He was one of my all-time favorites, and the band too, since 1970. Such a loss! But Cory sings with the angels now. Condolences to his family and band mates, and Godspeed, Cory.
Wonderful interview! 3 Dog Night has been my absolute favorite band since '68. Being somewhat of a vocalist myself, it was the harmonies and ranges that drew me to them. Nobody but Nobody could touch them for a Long time!
This guy had such an Elvis Presley swagger to him. They could have been brothers.God I miss him. Thank God for You Tube and all their music lives on. I LOVE THEM.
TheseTHREE dudes - all 3 together...were unequaled! Fortunately they combined to create unforgettable Hits. Bless them all for great courage and incredibly focused devotion!
Cory wells was nearly a family member who is featured in several of our playlists as 'cory the entertainer' which is just what he was especially in the BRILLIANT 2002 concert in dixon Tennessee as all of "three dog night" plus the fabulous Tennessee orchestra in essentially perfect- blend. We saw a change coming over him not long after that with a dip in his spontaneously spot- on humor, a look of sadness & loss topped with a new clamp on what had been- openness regarding himself personally and seemingly down about age/life progression best summed up as a keen and frightening awareness of the 'show finally coming to a permanent close'- we [soooo] regret not taking more initiative as we usually will- to 'keep digging' to hopefully unleash the aging related 'monsters' that many of us have been troubled by as yet another decade flashes past us as if "what?•When?•How? Seems to repeat" without fail. We probably couldn't have changed the outcome of cory's later years yet it never fails to slide into any conversation related to music / the 1970's, etc. We miss 'cory the musical entertainer' often until it hurts. We can only wish the best for cory's other friends and certainly•• family. May God bless you/us all❤
R I P Cory . Buffalo has lost one of its shining stars . Began with humble beginnings and stayed true to his roots . Regards to his family . Sorry for your loss
three great voices . now corey is gone. just losing all the great talent. sorry to hear about corey passing away today. love to his wife, family, and friends
Thank you, I grew up with Three Dog Night as a teenager. I loved them all. I just wish they were all back together again. It would be nice for them to let whatever is keeping Chuck Negron out of the band be over. They all will be 70 this year. Live and let live and it would be nice to have the original Three Dog Night band back together one more time.
God I must of been under a rock, I never even heard about his death. So said, they all were such talented artists. I really loved all their music and style. Rest in peace.
yesss he was born in Buffalo .. m actually from the Fredonia Dunkirk area .. Cory passed away at his home in Dunkirk New York .. i have some friends that used to live next door to him ..
I saw them as my first concert in 1969 in Chicago. They remind me of Wishbone Ash, another great band where the collective was the magic and two opposing members clinging to the name.
Chuck made some really beautiful, heartfelt statements following Cory's passing today. Seems there are no hard feelings, despite what some fans believe.
Cal Jees of course he said nice things after Cory died. Most of that would be due to the nasty things that he said about Cory and the band while Cory was still alive. Cory, we find now, was battling cancer while Chuck was lampooning him on social media.
+CeeBee49 I STILL do enjoy their music. I believe good music will never die. I saw them perform in Mobile, AL and loved every single note. R.I.P. Cory. You will be SO missed and I am so grateful to have experienced 3 Dog Night's talent. My husband and I saw them again a few years ago in Orange Beach, AL @ The Wharf. I loved their music in the 70's and still do. Love you, Cory.
So impressed with Cory for being able to speak openly about Chuck. In Danny's interviews he acta like Chuck never existed. Maybe because he knew Chuck and Cory were the talented ones. Cory was a good hearted wonderful person! RIP Cory!
my first favorite rock band, after they appeared on the first New Year's Rock'in Eve. Saw them in concert at Wisconsin State Fair four years ago. It was the greatest!
Tickets still in my billfold, and a "raincheck" turns to "awkward." We (my neighbor Julie and I) didn't know that they had canceled last Saturday night until we reached the ballroom. I had hoped that things were alright. Pieces of April is one of the songs I wanted to hear and now he's got a "mourning" in May and all year for many years. Rest in Peace. We will miss you.
I am sorry you missed the show, but I doubt you would have heard "Pieces of April". That song was recorded almost totally by Chuck, at a time when he and the other band members were not getting along, and I don't believe Cory or Danny participated. I can't be 100% sure, but in the times I have seen them since Chuck left the band, they haven't performed it. Too bad, because I like the song too.
Sungold I like the song too, but clearly the band was getting along at the time that it was recorded, and the other two singers are clearly heard harmonizing at the end of the song. They used to sing this love when Chuck was still in the band. Each of the three singers had his own solo lead songs. Chuck would never have been able to handle Try A Little Tenderness or A Change Is Gonna Come the way that Cory did. RIP, Cory. You were obviously the band's strongest singer.
Don't know where Cory ever got the idea that John Travolta was in the commercial that used "We've Only Just Begun". Travolta was only 16, still in High School, and living in New Jersey when that commercial was made.
That man's voice is so perfect, even today!! I still think he's vanilla on the outside and chocolate on the inside!! LOL!! But he is definitely still gorgeous!!
I agree with you. TIME TO LET GO. Chuck has reached out to them to do an anniversary tour -- all three of them. They aren't getting any younger. Chuck's voice is fantastic at almost seventy years old!
i don't really know how the group feels about 1 another, but, they need to get back together and forget the bad things from the past, and remember the good times, which would happen now if chuck and floyd were back doin' it again. and i admire chuck for puttin' his addiction behind him .... takes one helluva man to break that problem!
Cory Wells excelente musico y cantante. Nos deleito durante muchos años. Nuestra juventud transcurrio con su voz y canciones y los maravillosos 3 Perros Nocturnos. Recuerdo especialmente la cancion "Out in the counyry". Paz a su alma.
RIP Cory...I'm SO saddened that you and Danny couldn't find it in your hearts to let the hatred go and sing with your former band mate Chuck Negron....carrying hatred is pointless.
Mark Ash-Petta the hatred was/is from Chuck and his fan base. TDN never released anything negative about Chuck. In the '80s, I personally witnessed Danny and Cory making excuses for Chucks absence, citing health problems, still expecting that he might get it together. This was on a number of tours, where it was obvious that they did fine without him.
Cory and Danny always wanted Chuck to come back. Unfortunately Chuck was having his issues and didn't want to reconcile. Chuck kept booking shows and billing himself as Three Dog Night and then wouldn't show up. Thankfully Chuck seems to have himself straight now. But to my mind, without Cory, Three Dog Night is gone
It's upsetting that Chuck is never mentioned. Yes drugs ruined many things but he lived through the hell and it's time to let it go. I LOVE just about all their stuff but Easy To Be Hard is untouchable in their catalog! I would really make an effort to see them all together again! It's time fellas!
I still say they were all the best for the songs they were lead singers of. They were called Three Dog Night because there were three of them. Long live all of them Chuck,Cory and Danny.
Alan Gaglia you should have seen the band without Chuck, they were far tighter, grooving and the show was beautiful. Cory sang lead on the most hits for TDN. Danny was far more into health in the later years, Cory never did drugs or alcohol, but Chuck succumbed to the rockstar accesses. Lucky for him that he survived it, but he would have brought the rest of the band down with him if he had been allowed to.
Best show I ever saw of these guys, & I've seen them 4 or 5 times, was in the Kinsman Field House in Edmonton, around 1977 or 8? FANTASTIC! Great band, make up, show... just remembering brings back the joy. Have a music video of Two Dog Night, sad they can't/wont all get back, but us fans can't understand what's behind it, none of our business.
trish huelsman Chuck Negron was never the heart of that band. Tally up who sang on the most amount of TDN hits. Chuck could never carry the load that Cory did, and Chuck's jealousy got the best of him. Chuck spent an inordinant amount of energy smearing Cory on social media before it became known that Cory was fighting cancer. Stand-up guy, Chuck is.

Cory, you had a tremendously powerful soulful voice. I enjoyed you tremendously with Three Dog Night. You took my heart every time you sang Try A Little Tenderness. RIP
I could hear Out in the Country, over and over again....Cory Wells you were the best!
Amen
From June of 69 to may of 73 I was in a military academy for high school. Crappy time time and even worse place. Three Dog Night helped me get through that.

Wonderful interview! 3 Dog Night has been my absolute favorite band since '68. Being somewhat of a vocalist myself, it was the harmonies and ranges that drew me to them. Nobody but Nobody could touch them for a Long time!
Three Dog Night. I listen to that group in 2022 and still love the songs, musicians, and writers. 👊 👍
LOVED the r&b voice of Cory. So sad at his passing. Great tribute and interview here. Thanks for sharing!!
This guy had such an Elvis Presley swagger to him. They could have been brothers.God I miss him. Thank God for You Tube and all their music lives on. I LOVE THEM.
Thank you for the many years of great music, Cory. Rest in peace.
He was a great singer. They were a fantastic band, loved them
Love ya Cory...thanks for all the wonderful vocals and live shows . Will miss u so much! R.I.P.
Thank you for sharing your incredible talent with us, Cory.
You gave us so much, and you will be missed.
Sleep well...
Their repertoire, their singing and their band were SUPERB !
Much love and thanks for the awesome great music...
TheseTHREE dudes - all 3 together...were unequaled! Fortunately they combined to create unforgettable Hits. Bless them all for great courage and incredibly focused devotion!
We shall always remember you Cory Wells and the Great Music of Three Dog Night.. May God Rest Your Soul 🎵. R.I.P.
Loved these guys...there music brings back so many great memories for me. RIP Corey.
Cory's style was fabulously a great personality that we will last forever his music as great personality!
so very sad! l grew up with their music! my condolences to the family and fans!
RIP Cory. Heaven gained a huge talent
Chuck Negron was known as "The Voice" -- but they all had their parts, mostly Chuck and Cory. Their three part harmony was fantastic.
R.I.P. Cory. Thank you for your music!🎶
Loved Three Dog Night since 1969 ,Named my first son Cory! Can't believe I still can go to their concerts, Cory's voice is better than ever !!!
Cory Has Finally Found His Eternal Resting Place In SHAMBALA😢
His version of A Change is Gonna Come- - one of the best I've ever heard.
REST IN LOVE MR.WELLS
Miss you ❤️ Cory thanks for the great music rest in peace 💔
I ment them April 12 2011, I got to touch Cory in his left arm, it was awesome and Danny put his arm around me, loved it!!!
RIP Cory - my boyfriend for a short time. You were an awesome human being. I love you still!
He sure was a cutie.

RIP, Mr Wells. Seemed like a great guy.
Cory was from my home town in Up-state NY RIP Cory Wells
+Paul Kelwaski Gee, Paul I just read in today's Buffalo News that he was from my home town. Buffalo, NY which is Western NY
yesss he was born in Buffalo .. m actually from the Fredonia Dunkirk area .. Cory passed away at his home in Dunkirk New York .. i have some friends that used to live next door to him ..
+Paul Kelwaski We've lost another wonderful song artist! RIP CORY!
Its a small world we live in :)
+Paul Kelwaski yes it is. I went to Brocton Central School. Grew up in Portland near Westfield. wow..didn't know he was so close.
I saw them as my first concert in 1969 in Chicago. They remind me of Wishbone Ash, another great band where the collective was the magic and two opposing members clinging to the name.
Cory, you brought joy to my world!!

Chuck was a douche with a habit that fucked everyone close to him. Chuck was nothing without cory and danny, and never will be
"Golden Biscuits" first album ever…..
Thx guys
Love ya'll still
He was a lefty like me! Watch on his right hand. I knew Cory was a good and fine man!
What a voice Cory had. RIP
Very soulful!
I had to go be by myself and cry when I heard Cory passed.
•••as did we❤😮
RIP Cory...loved your music!

How can I see the whole interview? 31 years in love with Cory!! He's still beautiful!!
Wow.. Cory Wells, the consummate professional. So sad. Rest in peace sir. "Shut Dat Back Do!"
"Sun Light" y "Out in The Country", las dos más hermosas canciones de Los Tres Perros Nocturnos. Son el soundtrack de mi juventud. Gracias.
What a great voice he had.
Wow, just heard Cory passed. Sucks. RIP
CORY ♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎵🎶🎶🎵🎶🎶🎶🎵
🙏🏻 Rest In Peace.
Wow, didn't even know Cory passed till now.
That sucks.
What an awesome singer, what an awesome one of a kind group.
Three Dog Night are Great! Impressed on me when I was young! ♥️

Thank you for posting. I love the history!!
That man's voice is so perfect, even today!! I still think he's vanilla on the outside and chocolate on the inside!! LOL!! But he is definitely still gorgeous!!
3DN was one of my favorite groups as a teenager. Named my oldest son Cory. Would love to hear Cory, Chuck, and Danny sing together again.
I had such a crush on Cory back in HS in 1969...oh lord I'm old. ;D
I joined only two fan clubs in the 70’s. They were: Three Dog Night’ and ‘Cory Well’s fan club.
You and I are around the same age.
I agree with you. TIME TO LET GO. Chuck has reached out to them to do an anniversary tour -- all three of them. They aren't getting any younger. Chuck's voice is fantastic at almost seventy years old!

Mr. Wells was a Great Fellow and a Creative Wonderman!!!
Just watching old three dog night vids & singing along 👍
It was so different when you were there. We saw both sides of the clouds back then.
I lived 4 miles from his summer home in Dunkirk New York. Right on Lake Erie.
RIP Cory...I'm SO saddened that you and Danny couldn't find it in your hearts to let the hatred go and sing with your former band mate Chuck Negron....carrying hatred is pointless.

You should go to a Chuck Negron concert if you really want to hear some good TDN.
ONE OF THE BAND'S THREE LEAD SINGERS.. THREE DOG NIGHT WAS THE 1ST BOY BAND...
He had a good treble voice and like to fish bass.
You are the one Cory! Love you and love your music!
I still say they were all the best for the songs they were lead singers of. They were called Three Dog Night because there were three of them. Long live all of them Chuck,Cory and Danny.
Named our son after him...Corey Wells Blues Band in Phoenix, late 60's...what a voice!! Seemed like a nice guy, too.
I remember Cory and his band in buffalo performing at Banat hall in the 60’s.
Awh. My friends and I hit their concerts 38 years ago when I was 14. They never gave a bad performance but not nice in person.
i think there would be a lot of interest if this group re-united.i like many others dont look at this group the same way without chuck

Like all of us eternal souls trapped in a dying animal. Bless.
RIP our friend.
Miss Cory Wells!!!!
two dog night for sure! Bring Chuck back! Life is short!
It's Chuck that made that band complete. I seen them last year and walked out.
love the 3 dog night - iconic 70s band!!!
R.I.P Cory wells
soulful voice. they were so great. sorry about Cory passing away. kinda shocking
they are nothing without the heart of that band..Chuck Negron.....he is still making the sounds of 3 dog night..he is doing great..
