It’s Interesting to say “it’s daddy’s money” to a 27 year old woman using her hard-earned money from years of working saving on something that leads to personal growth and knowledge. I’ve never seen this kind of comment on a grown man post doing something similar….something to think about.
You have to understand that people are rightfully allowed to question how you can afford a big appartement in center paris, apple tech, 10+ voyages per years, even on 800k subs this doesn't add up... You just have to make a comment on how you earn money and everyone will probably understand and move on
Many of the people commenting about your situation are french and I think it's important for you to know that jealousy is a huge part of french culture. The french hate to see his neighbor succeed in life. The french love to see his neighbor fail or be as miserable as him.
I went back to school at 46, got an AA degree in French (to fluency) from San Diego Mesa College, then graduated summa cum laude from UCSD at 51, all while working full time. So no more of this "I'm 27...boohooo" haha. You have enough time ahead of you to live three lives: choose one, do it for a while, change your mind and do something else, repeat. And while you're in Paris, take the Fat Tire Tour of Monet's garden...they drive you to the area near his house where he painted all his famous work, and you ride bikes to the village, get lunch food, go have a picnic on the Seine, and then go to his house! Best thing I did my whole time in Paris. Oh and I'm almost 60 now! oh and your French accent is great!
The bitterness in those comments are beyond me. She is just sharing HER life, read the title again if you are confused, she isn't saying "days as a student in paris". Yea yea the world isn't fair we all know that but with almost 800k subs y'all think she can't afford this life by herself? TH-cam is a job guys wake up that's why you're here watching this... Anyways I'm living around Paris, not alone, as an artist, working ~10hr day, barely go out as RER can be expensive in a daily basis aswell as all the goods in Paris (like eating out) but still find this video inspiring to watch as someone who is trying to manifest a better life for myself
I am a 29 year old living in New York and when I turned 27 that was the first birthday ever where I started to feel like "wow, I feel old. I do not want to get any older than this." But as it turns out 28 was my favorite year of my life. Keep doing you! You're so brave to go to Paris alone and study a new language - that takes guts. Very inspiring. xo
I studied abroad in Berlin last spring and did 6 weeks of intensive German classes before the semester started... those classes are so grueling but so worth it. I also really related to what you were saying about getting outside your usual bubble and meeting people from all walks of life while living abroad. In Berlin, I met and made friends with so many people older than me, from different parts of the world than me, and with different life experiences than me. It really made me see how similar I am to the people in my life back at home.
It’s inspiring and motivating seeing how much you and creators like Moya show up for yourself. Learning something new, dressing up, treating to a good meal and being honest about personal struggles are things I do but forget to at times in the busyness of life. Seeing you all do it helps keep it present in my mind. And your French is really coming along. You sound ahead of schedule for someone still fairly new.
SAME - I’ve lived in a few Spanish speaking countries and everyone always asks if I’m fluent in Spanish. Like no, you don’t just magically learn an entire language through a couple 30-second interactions at the grocery store or a restaurant every day lol
It's really inspiring that you are pursuing this goal to learn French! I have been living in Italy for almost 2 years now studying Italian at a language school, and language learning can be SO difficult and humbling, especially when you're older like you mentioned (I'm also 27). This was a beautiful video and many people don't understand how much work goes into moving abroad and starting a new life in another country. It's. Really. Hard. Some people have so much bitterness in their hearts and like to tear people down, or assume things about them that aren't true. I get similar comments about people assuming my parents helped me with this, when in reality, I did and paid for EVERYTHING by myself which took years of planning and saving and lots of meltdowns and headaches over bureaucracy issues. You are very talented, bright, and inspiring, so don't let these angry people get to you or make you believe you don't deserve this. Enjoy Paris and good luck with your studying!
One of my favorite videos of yours and that's saying something. The conversation at the end about bursting your people bubble -- loved it. Keep on bursting that bubble, Elena.
You might not be able to read this but I'm just going to put this out here. I started watching you when I was still in college (that was like 6 years ago), and I must say part of me is heavily influenced by you, in a good way. Seeing you venture on things solo, trying new things, developing new skills and keeping the old ones, inspired me to be who I am today. I have just turned 25 this year, and it has been adventurous in ways that I get to do all the things I was scared to do- I went to a big city all by myself and navigated it all by myself. I went to watch musical theatre all on my own. So yeah, I guess this is my way of saying thanks. I, too, am trying not to let societal pressure get to me. I mean, screw the norms! Screw what they've set women to do. It's our choice whether to conform or not.
girl you look amazing you do amazing! I'm 30 yo and it's just getting better every year, trust me... my eraly/mid 20's were so difficult because of all the pressure about the age, and now I finally stopped worry haha
These comments are not it - it’s a lot easier to live abroad than people think (having done it fully self-funded with a very average-paying post grad job). Also, who cares how she spends money?? I love seeing influencers use their money and flexible lifestyle to actually go out, experience the world, and share it with their audience! Not only that, she’s investing in learning a new language and immersing herself in French culture - way more interesting than a Sephora haul. Loving the Paris content! Can’t wait to go back someday (:
You are very motivated to learn a new language and experiences also, thank you for this wonderful journey you are taking us on, hope you have a wonderful day 😊🫶.
Some of these comments don’t pass the vibe check 🥵 I think some people also don’t get that if you lived and worked in NY for all these years as a content creator, you’ve been quite well compensated for your work, and the cost of living in Paris is way lower than NY. Some people have a hard time to wrap their heads around creator economy and ignore that it’s a career 😊 live your best life girl!
This is so timely for me. I feel like I've missed out by sticking to the same routine. I'm 30, been at my job for 6 years, and always hang out with the same awesome friends. But lately, I've been thinking I want to learn and see more beyond this familiar circle.
Wow... some of these comments! And here I naively thought people would be drawn here to see someone doing their own thing while getting to see some beautiful sights in Paris. I feel sorry for the haters - they can't see the beauty in anything.
I'm hoping to move to France later this later this year or next year to get better at speaking French (depending on finances), so it's really inspiring to watch you living the dream. Paris is the absolute best, and your French sounds great - enjoy!
Hey Elena, thank you for sharing informations about the school you are studying. I have interest in spending some time in Paris studying french and I've been preparing myself to do it in the next years, so I've been researching a lot to have some details about prices, admission process, locations, etc. I hope you're having an amazing time, I'm loving every single video. Happy new year, you beautiful soul! ⭐
If you are reading Elena. I want you to know what you are doing is incredibly brave and independent. A lot of people cannot even imagine that and on top of that you are very pretty. That is also tough for some people to handle. That is why they have commented negative stuff. So don’t take it personally and chill. 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
I am loving the Paris setting, you are glowing!! Please please protect your neck and back and get a laptop stand with a Bluetooth keyboard so you can have your screen at eye level :)
Hello Elena, I'm Fremch and spent 3 years in the US, in the surbburb of NYC. I know that it is not easy every day because to leave in a new cou try alone. Even if French and Americans seem closed, we are very different on many aspects. The Fremch language is clearly not easy to learn with its grammar and orthograph :-) but it is nice to discover a new culture.
You have a very good accent. I would suggest you listen to TV and radio. Make it part of your evening routine. You will find your mind starts to absorb faster. Another interesting point is that it takes 8 years to fully master a language. You are well on your way.
Hi girl ! Just watched your video ! I'm French and I think you ARE KILLING IT at French ! It's a horrible and obnoxious language and extremely hard to master ! gosh I hate it and it's my mothertongue, so omg you are very brave to move to Paris (which is sometimes not the most welcoming city in France tbh) and to actually learn French ! I've always thought that foreigners that learn French are very very brave people because gosh this language.... So give yourself a break, you are killing it ! Oh and if you are sick of the parisian grey sky, I live in the South of France in Nîmes if you want to come I'd be happy to be your tour guide ❤
6:32 I don't think there is a "language learning gene" because learning every language is basically a quest of consistency more than everything else. Many Times we don't learn a language because we lack the motivation to learn it. For example I have learned french and Spanish because I have found something interesting related to them. Same for english
Elena, your vids have seriously brightened my 2023! 🌟 They've been my go-to on tough days, so thanks for always keeping it real. Sending good vibes for your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Wishing you a fantastic New Year and lots of love this holiday season! 🎉💖 Excited for what 2024 brings! 🚀
Elena!! I am living for these vids! Crossing my fingers you'll still be there in March bc I'm moving to Paris then to work remotely for a few months & it would be so fun if you did a meetup :)
Elena! Could you share details on where you got your silver bangles? I see them on your Instagram and videos and love them so much, but have never seen any info on where you got them. Xx
Hey there, I'm a 32-year-old guy. Just in case your read these, you're not alone. I've climbed the corporate ladder and landed a significant global role at a Fortune 500 tech company. Yet, despite the apparent success, I can't shake the feeling that I haven't quite figured things out. Take a moment to reflect-just a couple of years ago, you probably couldn't have imagined achieving all that you have now. Moving forward in your career is fantastic, be it a new stage, role, or promotion. However, the real beauty lies in discovering inner peace and enjoying the journey itself. I gotta admit at the risk of coming across like several naysayers in the comments, that I envy (fuck that, look up to) people like you who invest time in learning a new language and living abroad as an experience focused on self improvement. While I have a remote job that technically allows it, the responsibility of caring for two dogs has made it nearly impossible nowadays. I would say the grass is always greener on the other side. Practicing gratitude, keeping a journal, and sharing your successes with loved ones are invaluable practices. By the way, I genuinely appreciate your content-it's authentic and enjoyable. It inspired a lot of my work last quarter.

It’s so inspiring to be seeing you taking on Paris to study the language and immerse yourself in the culture! Would you mind sharing the link to the language program? I’m considering a summer in Paris to work on my French for my PhD language requirements, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I spent a month at the Catholic University in July one year and passed my Phd language exam. Was so fun and totally worth taking the time to do especially if your program will pay! Good luck!
I don't understand the hate, guys we all know we don't live in a perfectcly equalitarian world, chill out, this is an individual living her life, if you are so sad about capitalism go cry on a factory not on the Yt comments in your phones
I believe the hate comes from her title « life as a student in Paris » when we all know that it’s pure fake BS and that ( real ) students in France and especially in Paris could never get this kind of fake narcissistic influencer lifestyle…
She doesn’t make it look like anything, she’s just showing her life! Everybody is different and will react to different ways of life in diff ways. What you think of something is based on you, not somebody else
I am also trying to work on my French. Have you found any French speaking TH-camrs that you like? (Not specifically language learning TH-camrs… more like lifestyle/fashion… but in French?) If so, I’d love any recommendations!
How much does cost N appartement like yours? I’m trying to find one appartement during my years of student that is coming this 2025 September and all tips is apprecited
Hi Elena and others who know about studying French in Paris, I’m thinking to get my a2/a1 placement test, any recommendations for language schools would be great. And can I just do it for two weeks, I don’t have any bandwidth to have vacay for a month.
You are doing a really good job, Elena, chapeau ! :) Just two tips to help you: 1. When you say "pain" (bread), cut off the N at the end - it sounds closer to p'ugh than pan (hope that makes sense!) 2. Watch out for your feminine endings and pronounce them when you speak : nerveux vs nerveuse (sounds like nerveuzz) Please do not take the above as discouragement - they are tips to help you improve and build on the progress you have already made. I hope in the next video that you will speak more positively about your language abilities. ❤
Loved this video! Reminded me when I was taking my French courses in Paris. Sorry for those that are angry enough to make misogynist comments. Clearly they don’t know you well.
As owners of comments that reflect different perspectives, I think the main thing we should all think about is how living in the world can be made more fair for all of us?
🎉🎉🎉 So I'm also trying to pick up French. French creole. Like I finally found a book on popular phrases and phonetics and like I have to say like hearing language is way better. There's so much more layers. Like I'm still trying to discover them.
Just started watching your paris series. Very inspiring for my next trip to Paris. My friend and I were just talking about going to a language school in Paris and didnt know where to go. We’re not interested in AF. What level of French were you before you started here? Funnily enough I recognised your apartment from a you tube series on small apartments. Damon Dominique was explaining his furniture choices etc… i watch alot of you tubes of life in Paris. Good luck with your new life there.
This doesn't looks like "STUDENT IN PARIS" it should be called "I live in a 6000€ per month appartment paid by dad while I pretend to learn something let's face it. Being student in Paris is a 700€ per month rent for 13 square meter and working, selling the baguette to rich kids to be able to eat a by a can of beer.
Which is precisely the average student budget@@Drugov78 + 9e 45m2 you can easily find 2,5K per month. This one looks much more. But thanks Stéphane Plaza
It seems so chill in all your videos,I want to know how your able to afford living there, I want to also learn French and live and go to college there literally want to do EVERYTHING ur doing right now your a dream,if you would please reply ❤❤❤
Hey Elena - I have a random question for you... based on the fact your learning French... I was wondering, which celebrity who speaks French as a second language motivates you the most? They're always like Bradley Cooper just moved to Aix en Provance for 6 months in college and whoop he's fluent... obviously more to it than that, but yeah which French speaking celeb inspires you the most?
Hey elena, I’m curious if the rumors are actually true about when, particularly Americans, speak French, or even English in Paris. do Parisians automatically switch to English as soon as they hear a slight accent? Or do they look at you as if you sound silly? I’ve lived in a foreign country for the past 10 years and am almost fluent in the language, so I completely understand the challenges of picking up a new language. Keep at it! Your Vlogs are amazing and inspiring.

You are so inspiring and this video was exactly what I needed today. Thank you for being genuine and for sharing your experiences with us ❤️
Elena, you are so inspiring! Love watching your travels and especially love the language learning ❤
I’ve probably never commented on your video but yo, Elena! Don’t listen to these trolls. And I hope you read this. Stay amazing! My prayers go to you. May God bless you, your studies, your contents, your money, your family, your health, your love life, your future ahead! May God replace those haters with 100x more people who love you! Whatever you do, it will be blessed! Amen. 😇🤍🥹
Xx, love from the bone sist! 🫶🙌
Loving these raw talks❤
It’s so inspiring to be seeing you taking on Paris to study the language and immerse yourself in the culture! Would you mind sharing the link to the language program? I’m considering a summer in Paris to work on my French for my PhD language requirements, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I spent a month at the Catholic University in July one year and passed my Phd language exam. Was so fun and totally worth taking the time to do especially if your program will pay! Good luck!
@@sweeeeeet85 thank you for the recommendation!!
It’s called Ecole Suisse! Alliance Francaise is great too :)
What I hate about learning a language is that there’s the formal language and then everyday informal words/phrases…it’s like learning it twice 🙈
The issue is that she make it look like its easy and that's all student life
She doesn’t make it look like anything, she’s just showing her life! Everybody is different and will react to different ways of life in diff ways. What you think of something is based on you, not somebody else
@@JoJo-qc4mw If you haven't figured it out yet. YT, Instagram, Tik Tok are ALL edited small perfect versions of people's lives. You will be Ok
I am also trying to work on my French. Have you found any French speaking TH-camrs that you like? (Not specifically language learning TH-camrs… more like lifestyle/fashion… but in French?) If so, I’d love any recommendations!

Je ne sais pas pourquoi j'adore entendre parler des gens qui apprennent la langue. En tout cas, tout était compréhensible 😉 Courage pour la suite!
Hi Elena the boots What are you wearing when you're sitting on the park bench, what brand are they???
You’re French is good, no worries you’ll get it 💪🏼
OMG Elena your handwriting is so perfect!!
Where is your black leather tote from? 😍
Song at 7:10?
You are doing a really good job, Elena, chapeau ! :)
Just two tips to help you:
1. When you say "pain" (bread), cut off the N at the end - it sounds closer to p'ugh than pan (hope that makes sense!)
2. Watch out for your feminine endings and pronounce them when you speak : nerveux vs nerveuse (sounds like nerveuzz)
Please do not take the above as discouragement - they are tips to help you improve and build on the progress you have already made. I hope in the next video that you will speak more positively about your language abilities. ❤
Ah thankfully you!! Thats really helpful :)
Love this! Thank you for sharing ❤!

What’s the name of the French language school she goes to? I couldn’t find it because idk the proper spelling
ecole suisse

So I'm also trying to pick up French.
Good luck with your new life there.
go out there and do your thing ❤❤
Love this video hope you have a good Merry Christmas
"Have good day ❤😍🌹"
Only rich french student can do it lol.
More like 850€ per month, even more in haussmanian style flat located in the center like this
@@BurbTheFat😂😂😂 this kind of flat would be more like around 1500 to 2000.
Which is precisely the average student budget@@Drugov78 + 9e 45m2 you can easily find 2,5K per month. This one looks much more. But thanks Stéphane Plaza
@@Drugov78 not that much to U.S. people. plus she is subleasing from a friend
@@sterlingmarshel6299 Yes I know, that’s why some bastard landlords in Paris are f***ing up Paris with Airbnb flats everywhere…
Happy New year
What is the song played at 7:00?
hi! what do you use to edit your videos?
It seems so chill in all your videos,I want to know how your able to afford living there, I want to also learn French and live and go to college there literally want to do EVERYTHING ur doing right now your a dream,if you would please reply ❤❤❤
Hey Elena - I have a random question for you... based on the fact your learning French... I was wondering, which celebrity who speaks French as a second language motivates you the most? They're always like Bradley Cooper just moved to Aix en Provance for 6 months in college and whoop he's fluent... obviously more to it than that, but yeah which French speaking celeb inspires you the most?
Live my life as an influencer in Paris* Which is absolutely not a bad thing though.
Happiest birthday 🎂💐
Hey elena, I’m curious if the rumors are actually true about when, particularly Americans, speak French, or even English in Paris. do Parisians automatically switch to English as soon as they hear a slight accent? Or do they look at you as if you sound silly? I’ve lived in a foreign country for the past 10 years and am almost fluent in the language, so I completely understand the challenges of picking up a new language. Keep at it! Your Vlogs are amazing and inspiring.
Where did you get your green hat from?
Nice video. Always like your uploads! Don't worry, life has a way of figuring itself out. Try not to focus on the number on your cake :)
I would recommand you to visit Sevran, it's a really beautifull city near Paris with a old style architecture and a really good history.
Subscribed to the beauty❤😂
Waittt isn't this the same apartment Damon Dominique had when he stayed in paris?!
Is it Damon's apartment? what
The haters gonna hate. But Elena is still hot & rich 😍 and now can speak French
I get the vibe that you are shackled to TH-cam and Social Media. Who would you be without it? That's the biggest risk you could take.
Sorry for the mean comments. Enjoy your time! :D And you don't need to justify your actions to anyone. ❤
