I love how your guides just clipped from streams and uploaded to youtube are shortest and the most informatic. 7 minutes of the last video about activity monitor straight like flew without any want to rewind it at any moment even though nothing new for me in there
this explanation (along with every other on your channel) is absolutely insanely simple aswell as defined explaining at the end how that peak was just a previous event ending aswell as showing me the sound sensor isn’t useless are beautiful things
if I understand correctly, a "twinteraction" can present as low as a 1 on the bar if both interactions roll -1, or as high 5 if both rolled +1 (as shown at 3:45), or I guess if the interactions are like a microsecond apart, you get that mid-line slant like 5:21. amazing presentation btw, with great visuals and real world examples!
Love your explanation, thank you. Just came across your channel from you absolutely perfect run in the highschool and it seems like I can learn a lot from you!
3:33 In addition to Polty's ability, Twinteraction, Ghost Event, it could also be Yurei's ability and Ghost writing or Flame blowing simultaneously with ordinary interaction. I'm not sure because it is so rare but in theory Mare's ability too since I've witnessed they did it during a ghost event and that'll suggest they can do it simultaneously with other actions.
you can achieve at least an 88% confidence value to rule out EMF5 if you observe TWELVE interactions with no 4 or 5 jumps 90% confidence after thirteen interactions 92% fourteen 93% fifteen 95% seventeen ... 99.99% after 51 (diminishing returns) formula: 1 - [ ( chance it doesn't give EMF 5 OR it does give EMF 5 but underestimates on chart ) ^ number of interactions ] = 1 - [ ( (3/4) + (1/4)(1/3) )^N ] you can also make the confidence value even more accurate by accounting for how many of the ghosts left in your journal could possibly give EMF5 such as (5 possible EMF 5 ghosts / 13 ghosts total left available as possibilities in journal) and this value would be outside the exponent base
I like to rather think of the uncertainty range in the graph as the EMF, EMF - 1 or EMF - 2 instead of one lower EMF +/-1, that way you don't need to mentally convert between the EMF values on the EMF meter and the board. Mathematically it's exactly the same, but this is easier to remember: "board shows the exact EMF, or up to values lower".
I want to hear about obscure tips, like how you mentioned that if the ghost has EMF5 but that is it’s hidden evidence, you will NOT see it in the chart. I’ve been trying to test if the same rule applies to the ghost writing, if it has that as evidence that’s hidden, will it just not interact with the book? Or will it throw it, as if it didn’t have the evidence? This video was SUPER helpful, as I’d been checking many ghosts to see if I can get that EMF 5 on the chart if it’s hidden. Personally I like to rush to the ghost room and set up the ghost book pen, EMF reader and T1 thermometer in front of a camera on the floor so I can check those from the van without running sanity down. I want to add Spirit box to that camera, though it seems very rare that the ghost interacts with the spirit box if it isn’t held, I would love to test the specifics of each evidence to better run my setups.
If you have a ghost that has Ghost Writing (on no evidence), when interacting with the Ghost Writing Book, it will throw the book instead of writing in it. Doing that will let you know that the ghost _won't_ write in the book, but it could still be a Ghost Writing ghost. The strat of throwing in Thermo and Book first is really good, as they can take their sweet time to make themselves known.
Several things can make the graph spike to 10, as explained in the video. Poltergeist ability (EMF-2) + each individual item thrown (EMF-3), or ghost event (EMF-4) + each door closing if it was a singing/fake hunt/appear state event (EMF-2).
as a clear way to easily remember how it works on the activity board, is it correct to say that the activity board should never read higher than the activity's EMF reader number? because the EMF reader number already includes the +1. i.e. unless its EMF 5, an interaction can never ever read higher on the activity board than 2, a throw can never ever read higher than 3.
@BigMeik it's not that your explanation was bad, I actually learned how to read it but since I play on professional most games it seems much easier to just use emf scanner
I just wanna verify: what you're saying is that the wiki is wrong? cuz the wiki says it's either ==, -1, or -2 EDIT: I think it's just semantics with the EMF 1 correct me if I'm wrong but TLDR: jumps of 4 or 5 mean = EMF 5, ghost event, hunt, or synchronous EMF's and sync EMF can be produced by twins, poltergeist, yurei, events, or if you're incredibly unlucky any ghost can do it

This is a great explanation.
Precise, short and no open questions. Great teaching method.
Thank you! :)

I appreciate that Sumone, thank you!
That was very helpful. As far as I know, doors closing during an event can also leave EMF 5 behind.
Absolutely, the door interaction itself is EMF-2, which can be EMF-5.

Thankies! And yes, this ghost was the twins, you can see multiple twinteractions in the video!
the way i was thinking if it works in no evidence and you7 immediately answered that lol
Love your explanation, thank you. Just came across your channel from you absolutely perfect run in the highschool and it seems like I can learn a lot from you!
The clearest explanation I have ever seen for this. Thanks again Meik! Such underrated content!
Your explanation was like a breath of fresh air. I love the level of detail with practical visual representations! 😁
Thank you so much!
short, sweet, to the point. great info! thank you Meik
Best tutorial for this so far! Thank you!
such a smooth and clear explaination. Thank you very much!
I understand the EMF graph much better now. Thank you for this very informative vid Meik

Thank you so much, it takes time to learn! looking forward for more guides like this🎉
Best vid ever thanks for the info.. and lol about the twin lines on the reader rhere😂😂
Very useful info and amazing explanation of the activity monitor, thank you Meik! 👌
Thank you for this amazing bit of information! And for all your content! ❤
you can achieve at least an 88% confidence value to rule out EMF5 if you observe TWELVE interactions with no 4 or 5 jumps
90% confidence after thirteen interactions
92% fourteen
93% fifteen
95% seventeen
...
99.99% after 51 (diminishing returns)
formula:
1 - [ ( chance it doesn't give EMF 5 OR it does give EMF 5 but underestimates on chart ) ^ number of interactions ]
= 1 - [ ( (3/4) + (1/4)(1/3) )^N ]
you can also make the confidence value even more accurate by accounting for how many of the ghosts left in your journal could possibly give EMF5
such as (5 possible EMF 5 ghosts / 13 ghosts total left available as possibilities in journal)
and this value would be outside the exponent base
Going the extra kilometre here, awesome!

That's a good way of doing it, too! The Phas Wiki has it written like that as well.
Awesome video and well explained!
Cheers for the info Meik!
thank you so much!! you're awesome!
Great explanation! Thanks
I gotta sub after this one

must be a shade
Must be a myling :kapp:
then why does it even go up to 10 in the first place? I always assumed EMF level 5 when it hit 10 for a long time.
Several things can make the graph spike to 10, as explained in the video. Poltergeist ability (EMF-2) + each individual item thrown (EMF-3), or ghost event (EMF-4) + each door closing if it was a singing/fake hunt/appear state event (EMF-2).
thanks alot
Nice video and .... comment for statistics!😇
So if there are many activity at the same time the chart will stack up make it can go higher?
When it stack like that does the modify r the same?
Yeah, it'll go up with each thing the ghost does. A high graph does not mean the ghost is aggressive or "will hunt soon".
as a clear way to easily remember how it works on the activity board, is it correct to say that the activity board should never read higher than the activity's EMF reader number? because the EMF reader number already includes the +1. i.e. unless its EMF 5, an interaction can never ever read higher on the activity board than 2, a throw can never ever read higher than 3.
That's a good way of remembering it, yes!
I clearly don't understand still. I was the only one alive and nobody was in the house getting spikes of 7 so I assumed EMF 5 but it wasn't somehow.
As seen in the video, some things can make the graph spike up, without it having to be EMF-5.
Always go with twins :kappa:
Obviously 🙄 😂
It’s always twins, trust.
Activity reader always seemed pointless and impossible to read or work out or me, so I always have it off.
Even with this video? Freel free to ask any questions about it, I'm happy to answer!

Just checked the wiki, didn't know what they had on there. They just use a different offset to explain it, but the idea is the same.
So confusing. He said throw but put the notes next to interaction 😭
Feel free to ask any questions if you're having trouble understanding.
The fact that while going up line changed means you have twins there 5:21 , for those who dont know btw :)
