Also I’m currently on semester two of AP Art History. The class is rough, as I am taking it through Florida Virtual School, but the content isn’t terrible. I think the worst part of it all is the architecture aspect you have to learn. If you enjoyed world history or European history, then ap Art history is a class for you, because it’s simply a History class which you explain through art
I took AP Seminar this year and got a 4 on the exam. It's mostly writing and presenting about problems and solutions and you can choose what you want to learn about... good for learning how to debate and a chance to learn about topics you are interested in but I do not recommend it because 95% of colleges don't accept this for credit and the amount of time spent on units is either too much or not enough
i LOVED APHG. It was my first AP class, and my teacher was so passionate about making sure people have a general understanding of the society around them. To this day, it is the most practical and fun AP I've taken.
I did both AP 2-D art and AP Drawing, and the 2-D classes are judged the same way as the 3-D courses. It is all based off of a portfolio you create and explain through writing, which the judging takes into account. It's mostly judged on creativity and stylized pieces are more preferred than hyper realistic pieces (especially with the human figure) because anatomy mistakes can be written off as stylistic choices, which is why you probably saw people get 3s and 4s on wonderful portfolios. Abstract is somewhat frowned upon, because collegeboard sees it as a form of art that anyone can do, and that doesn't require any skill, but you can still pull it off if the explanation of the pieces are good enough. Personally, I did my 2-D portfolio on the chinese government, especially in the height of covid, which got a 3, and my drawing portfolio on human trafficking, which got a 4, both were heavily stylized and covered heavy subject matters, and also were not really touched upon by many other people, which probably scored me some points for originality. My drawings weren't the best, per say, but the written defense and explanation of my portfolio is what really saved my score. Additionally, there is a section where you can submit any artwork, despite if it is included in the portfolio or not, and that also comes with a space where you can write a short blurb about the work, but the selected works don't have to correlate, they also take this into account while scoring. Anyway, it's a really fun class and you have all year to do like, 20 pieces, and in the end it's really rewarding, so personally I would put it in A tier.
@@tacticaloof6407 can you give me a pretty basic summary of this class? I'm a sophmore taking ap world but looking for ap classes my next 2 years that I can do well in the class and pass the exam without stressing constantly
Currently taking AP music theory this year… It really helps if you have a liking for mathematics, as it is very similar, and helps for your brain to pick up on all the patterns. I think what’s most important is to come into class with some musical background and to use the skills and terminology frequently so you don’t forget anything important. But it also truly depends on the teacher (mine is excellent!).
It’s my first ever ap class (I’m in grade 9) and it’s encouraged me to take APUSH next year. I personally liked it a lot (prior to taking this class, I had a firm belief that history just wasn’t for me but this changed that). Like you said, it has a lot of Chinese history, which I enjoyed much more than my previous history classes that were all about whites colonizing and African American slavery being taught to me again and again. Pretty challenging and I definitely spend my own personal time on assignments but well worth it. I just hope I do well on the exam in May :)
Huh In my experience, AP Lit is more difficult than AP Lang, since the reading interpretation questions are more difficult for most. Not only that, it actually requires people to memorize the plots of books to write an essay with.
seminar was super helpful to take early on, but you really have to commit to getting the most out of it. it prepared me for so many other classes and put my following work ahead of others who hadn't taken it for the price of a free class and a mildly work intensive portfolio
The fainting in bio was probably due to the fumes not being redirected through a fume hood. I remember my freshman year in normal bio we were dissecting rats(my group named ours Bartholomew)and we had to come in during advisory(basically a study hall)to finish the dissection before the band trip. Let's just say my vision went green and I almost passed out because I hadn't had anything to eat or drink before the lab and the fumes from the mutilated rat weren't being directed to anywhere else.
megzcreates thank you! Also any more advice on AP Statistics? I’m taking it just to take another AP class without really knowing what I’m getting myself into
Honestly don't worry about Stats too much! It's very straightforward and a bit of memorization, nothing you can't punch into a calculator. You're gonna do great :)
You also had some really bad experiences with teachers and how they taught. I took APUSH and Ap Bio this year, it was hard work but I had fantastic teachers that made the learning process as painless as possible.
The only difference between Calc BC and AB are 2 extra units near the end of BC that go in depth into Calc 2 topics like Taylor/infinite series and parametric equations
Absolutely adored my art history class. I learned really cool styles of art throughout the different periods, and there are so many different pieces that’s pretty cool. Also Ngl loved my ap lit class, though there is a reason I took academic physics instead of ap 😅
L AP Chem take, it was my favorite class. Teacher plays a major role but if someone is looking to take it I would strongly recommend doing so after taking normal/honors chem the year before. Having a foundation of knowledge where you can build off from really helps in a class like that.
This year (10th) I'm just doing AP English Lit. But next year, I'm doing AP Stats, AP Psych, AP Comparative Gov, APush, and (maybe?? probably not) AP Human Geo. I'm going to need a lot of therapy.

Hi! Just finished AP Seminar as a sophomore and we were told that the main benefits of the course weren't actually about the content but rather the skills we would develop like writing research, arguments, synthesizing evidence, looking at different perspectives, presenting effectively, and defending arguments orally. I do stand for that and I really see these skills coming in handy in the future, I did have several mental breakdowns as it was my first AP course, but I love writing and presenting so there were some great experiences. On another note I'm thinking of taking AP Bio, Lang, and Psych next year. My school only offers AP Bio but would anyone know how different AP Lang and Seminar are (since from what I've read they seem pretty similar) and would you recommend I self study AP Psych (cuz I'm also preparing for SAT next year) and how could I go about doing that?
Hi! I took AP Lang, Bio, and Psych my junior year. Even though I haven't taken AP Seminar, it sounds very similar to Lang. Personally, Lang was a lot of busy work, constantly relearning the same writing strategies. A lot of essay writing, too. AP Psych was interesting. The class content itself felt very simple and easy to understand, but in no way did it prepare me for the AP test or literally any of the collegeboard unit tests. It might have been my teacher, but AP Psych can be with really hard or really easy. I took the SAT a few months ago. For that, I would say to focus on algebra and geometry skills (maybe even pre-calc). AP Lang also helped me a lot with the SAT. I would suggest AP Lang to anyone because it really helps you develop strong er writing skills, though it gets quite repetitive at times. For AP Bio, it is one of the hardest AP classes I've ever taken. So, be prepared for that lol
My school only offered one AP to freshman and that was AP Gov which is still a weird choice to me but aight. I failed the one question AP test during Covid which still frustrates me because I feel confident I would have passed had there been like an actual test.
Nah APES is literally the most useful course cause literally every passage, essay, and topics are on climate change and the environment? (I literally was able to predict an El Nino Year with that class I feel very proud lol)
i took ap music theory this last year, and it's pretty helpful and fun in the beginning when you are learning or reviewing the basic stuff, but when it starts getting into stuff like roman numerals and that kinda stuff later in the class, you really have to have a good memory or use those skills very frequently to really understand it, and my teacher didn't explain it very well and i've never had to use most of the stuff i learned in choir so i forgot it pretty quickly. i was also never informed that i would have to compose two bars on the exam, so that's fun. but overall i don't regret taking the class
As an Asian who took honors AP classes (its just really hard AP classes but there's like 2 people per class because no one hates themselves that much(yes my school is dumb)) I wish I took just AP, because no matter the fact I passed them, a small chunk of me died in each and now I have nothing left It's not like I planned on going to college anyway-
I took AP seminar to get capstone, but its honestly quite useless, except for the presentations which I found to be good practice. I love how my Teacher kept reminding my class that seminar was useless besides for getting into college, since it doesn't count as a credit...
I had ap statistics for a class this year. Despite not having any experience with ap, never taking an ap course, hating math, and being put in the course without my knowledge or own doing,,,, I actually enjoyed it 🤣 I think it was the teacher since she was good at explaining and was very upfront and honest with us about ap tests and expectations 👌 it’s also very diff from the math I usually learn and I felt like it could be applied to real world situations like u kinda said 🤷♀️ I dropped it anyway though since I’m not planning to use high school ap courses for college stuff in the future,,, weirdly missed it tho 😂😂
I took capstone because the best teachers in my school taught those two classes. Seminar made me a much better writer (but I'm sure lang does that too but I am starting that class in a few days).
Hello there, I just wanted to say in relation to the ap 2d art and design course it is actually it is not fully based on the quality or style of the art. The ap graders are looking for synthesis of materials and how well the topic of the work relates to the investigation. I just wanted to comment since I am currently in the course. Thank you and have a great day!
They did change ap world to ap world modern which im guessing is less Eurocentric. I took modern and it included history of native americans, southeast asians, africans, islam, buddhism, a lot of china, and even india.

i always say it depends on what you want to major in/are interested in, or what credits what you want to get! some colleges don't take cs or stats (or both calc and stats at once) so check if that's relevant to you :) personally, i'd die taking calc and stats at once, but hey if you're a math wiz..go for it! ap cs is just java if I remember correctly (i prefer python..) but still useful if you want to go into cs cuz I'm actually struggling with java rn lol
the AP World one hit home, I loved the class and my teacher was amazing, but it is soo white. We literally have AP Euro so why can't we go more in depth in other cultures? Or at least provide AP Asia/Africa classes or something similar. I'd really like to learn more about cultures that I haven't already known about since I could walk, y'know? I got a 103% on the test for the China chapter and Bs on most of my other tests because it was one of the few things in the textbook (which I may or may not had accidentally water damaged 😳) that I thought was really interesting and not something I already knew.

Like during bio honors I got an a but I kind of had a bumpy time getting there? Like I say I’m bad but got a good grade lmao idk how to explain. Anyways I hope to pass the ap biology with atleast a b haha.
I took AP chem last year only because I had a 102 in chem honors. I guarantee you that it is hell. Not because of the amount of work, but the amount of comprehension you need in order to understand the concepts given in that class.
Hi!! I will be a sophomore next year and I was thinking of AP World, AP Seminar, and AP Psychology. I also do a sport and karate in which I would be busy from 3-5 then again from 6-7. Is this too much for me? I currently take an AP class now and I could definitely do two, but idk about three?
it really depends on the workload and your teacher. i’m taking ap psych next year, but ap world is really content heavy with a lot of tedious note-taking yet the work is really manageable. try ask people you know who has experience with the ap teachers at your school. i think that if you keep your schedule consistent you shouldn’t have too much problems
Hi! I just finished AP Seminar as a sophomore this year. I think it really depends on you and how you manage your time. I can only talk about AP seminar as it's the only AP ive taken so far, but personally it was challenging mainly because I suck at time management, but I did enjoy several aspects of it and I do really recommend the course, I think the skills you'll learn will be very beneficial for you in the future! Since you have taken AP courses before, I think it'll be an easier experience for you so if you feel like you could balance 3 AP courses, you should go for it 🙌
Taking APWH right now.. It'y my first AP and I'm surprised it ranks so high... I guess it depends on the teacher though, and my teacher isn't the most stellar....

I took physics 1 and physics 2... it was so traumatic that I never wanted to touch physics c
Jack of Spades I salute you, hearing the horror stories was enough for me💀
im taking it now im literally dead
I heard music theory is death... and if you are trying to find the easiest ap classes then ap environmental and geography is probably your best bet.
that's pretty true! apes and hug are really great for those who have no background knowledge at all
And AP art
AP Computer Sci. Principles or go home. If you can turn on a computer you can get an A in that class
AP World had a lot of Chinese history though... and historically, most colonizers weren’t white (Ottomans, Mongols, Persians, etc.)
she said "minorities" meaning plural
Idk what she was taught but my class included a lot of Asian and African culture
Song dynasty
You literally learn about every culture. It might’ve been her teacher. I’m probably gonna drop the class though it’s way to much to handle
ap lit is just the class that ppl who failed ap lang take to redeem themselves
THAT IS SO TRUE
Huh
In my experience, AP Lit is more difficult than AP Lang, since the reading interpretation questions are more difficult for most. Not only that, it actually requires people to memorize the plots of books to write an essay with.
seminar was super helpful to take early on, but you really have to commit to getting the most out of it. it prepared me for so many other classes and put my following work ahead of others who hadn't taken it for the price of a free class and a mildly work intensive portfolio
brooo i’m a humanities kid too, i can’t do STEM stuff to save my life😀
anti STEM gang
The fainting in bio was probably due to the fumes not being redirected through a fume hood. I remember my freshman year in normal bio we were dissecting rats(my group named ours Bartholomew)and we had to come in during advisory(basically a study hall)to finish the dissection before the band trip. Let's just say my vision went green and I almost passed out because I hadn't had anything to eat or drink before the lab and the fumes from the mutilated rat weren't being directed to anywhere else.
My heart when she said she'd call my therapist 🤣 Good people truly exist in this world. And I guess...something ain't right with me
its okay i’ll still accept u if u like chem🥺❤️
When she said ab and bc r similar, I literally died, bro, you learn ab in the first semester of bc.
me taking AP chem this year willingly.. omg is it that bad? 😭
It's def the hardest AP in my experience, but more power to you if you can succeed!
megzcreates thank you!
The only difference between Calc BC and AB are 2 extra units near the end of BC that go in depth into Calc 2 topics like Taylor/infinite series and parametric equations
as an upcoming freshman this is very very helpful
all of these r just subjective but hey welcome to the ap curriculum☺️ ur gonna love and hate it
@@megzcreates hi, im back as a sophomore, ap chem sucks
@@jlogs872 shouldve taken adv instead at my school atleast everyone says its easy
@@randommonkey4900 actually I have a 98 in ap chem now, just had to adjust to the class I guess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Absolutely adored my art history class. I learned really cool styles of art throughout the different periods, and there are so many different pieces that’s pretty cool. Also Ngl loved my ap lit class, though there is a reason I took academic physics instead of ap 😅
that's so awesome!! i love art so im jealous :')
I'm going to need a lot of therapy.
not probably not !! take aphg. it’s probably the most educational ap class. it’s the most interesting and i LOVED THAT CLASS. but hopefully you can get a good teacher
also the history ap classes are for the same credit in college so... do the easier one lol
bruh i’m planning to literally do the same as u except make ap gov into apes. idk how i’m gonna deal w 4 ap classes
@@xomistie I’m taking ap bio, ap comp science principals, ap human geo, and ap seminar is this a bad idea? I’m going into freshman year btw. I feel like imma regret it but I’m motivated to do it
@@lleah2839 ooh definitely might be a bit tough since ur just getting into high school and getting used to the environment. however if you have the motivation i definitely think u can do it. i’ve heard ap comp isn’t that hard, and ap geo is fun! you will feel regret while doing the courses but after u pass it and knowing that u got thru it is the greatest feeling. good luck!
@@xomistie aww thank you! My sister took IB classes so I really need advice! Wishing you well :)
I’m taking AP Lang right now and as much as I want to hate on it because my grade in the class is pretty bad, I can see that my writing has genuinely gotten much better since the beginning of the semester.
that's the spirit! i feel like ap lang is the most useful class that i still apply to my day to day, even in college :)
im taking ap chem. It's been so easy so far since I took honors chem last year! but in all honestly its only the 4th week and we're already on the shit at the end of the semester from last year ahhhh
I've been looking forward to AP Chem for years and even asked my counselor if I could take it early 😭I'm such a stem nerd
Bruh I’m so jealous you were able to take so many AP physics classes. I loved AP Physics 1 and AP Calc and was incredibly disappointed to find out my school doesn’t offer AP Physics C... and it’s the only school in my county that doesn’t... *sad*
you should self study!!
megzcreates I definitely would’ve if COVID didn’t happen.
my school only offers ap physics 1 and the teacher isn’t even a credentialed educator
ONIONS
dont hate on physics and bio. (I loved those classes lol)
Tarun Ravi ur smarter than i am🙃

@@BryanUSG that's great that u are doing well, try to take things slowly and try to take breaks for each assignment, I hope u do well in each class😆
the good thing about ap capstone is it let’s your get the diploma if you take 4 other aps, plus it prepares you for college level research
second semester starts in like a weekish. I’m taking AP Lang, AP Human Geo, and AP chem. oh boy.
you got this😌
what is human geo like? Sadly my school doesn't offer it so I've stuck with requesting AP Seminar, AP Lit, and AP Bio
@@imdva it's really chill! its like a blend of history and environmental science
@@imdva I’m in it rn and it’s not that bad, just a lot of work
@@baileydavisv cool, tysm! I'll keep that in mind, if I'm not up to AP Bio this year I guess I'll take it senior year 😅
My school only offered one AP to freshman and that was AP Gov which is still a weird choice to me but aight.
I AGREE WITH THE PHYSICS IM DYING WHY DID I TAKE PHYSICS 1 AND 2 IN ONE YEAR
i pray for u LOL
i took ap music theory this last year, and it's pretty helpful and fun in the beginning when you are learning or reviewing the basic stuff, but when it starts getting into stuff like roman numerals and that kinda stuff later in the class, you really have to have a good memory or use those skills very frequently to really understand it, and my teacher didn't explain it very well and i've never had to use most of the stuff i learned in choir so i forgot it pretty quickly. i was also never informed that i would have to compose two bars on the exam, so that's fun. but overall i don't regret taking the class
As an Asian who took honors AP classes (its just really hard AP classes but there's like 2 people per class because no one hates themselves that much(yes my school is dumb)) I wish I took just AP, because no matter the fact I passed them, a small chunk of me died in each and now I have nothing left
It's not like I planned on going to college anyway-
I know you did not just put AP Human Geography in the S tier.
I did❤️
Lol that class was so hard for me 😭😭
I'm taking it right now and I'm struggling so much-
700 subs and somehow managed to get in recommandations? that's really rare. congrats!
i just did a dual enrollment and took community college classes 🤷🏻♂️

This list will prolly change for a lot of us currently in high school b/c of the craziness elearning has done to it
People take AP Capstone because they like more project based classes, ‘cause it’s at least a little less boring in that case
I took AP seminar to get capstone, but its honestly quite useless, except for the presentations which I found to be good practice. I love how my Teacher kept reminding my class that seminar was useless besides for getting into college, since it doesn't count as a credit...
I had ap statistics for a class this year. Despite not having any experience with ap, never taking an ap course, hating math, and being put in the course without my knowledge or own doing,,,, I actually enjoyed it 🤣 I think it was the teacher since she was good at explaining and was very upfront and honest with us about ap tests and expectations 👌 it’s also very diff from the math I usually learn and I felt like it could be applied to real world situations like u kinda said 🤷♀️ I dropped it anyway though since I’m not planning to use high school ap courses for college stuff in the future,,, weirdly missed it tho 😂😂
wow…the ap chemistry hit me hard…😢 ITS MY FAV CLASS
LOL u r insane
I took capstone because the best teachers in my school taught those two classes. Seminar made me a much better writer (but I'm sure lang does that too but I am starting that class in a few days).
My school didn't offer ap classes for freshies, so I sat here the entire year being the only freshie in my AP psychology class. :,D
taking my aphug exam in 2 hours this made me feel better
how is the class? i’m thinking abt taking it
Hello there, I just wanted to say in relation to the ap 2d art and design course it is actually it is not fully based on the quality or style of the art. The ap graders are looking for synthesis of materials and how well the topic of the work relates to the investigation. I just wanted to comment since I am currently in the course. Thank you and have a great day!
i know! i just meant based on my experience with the teacher :)
They did change ap world to ap world modern which im guessing is less Eurocentric. I took modern and it included history of native americans, southeast asians, africans, islam, buddhism, a lot of china, and even india.
Ap chem was one of my favorite classes don’t even come for me
You're superhuman
Did I willingly take AP chem? Yes. Did I enjoy it? No. Did I cry about it? Yes. Do you need to call my therapist? Probably
I finally finished my AP Biology exam and my AP Human Geography exams. Never NEVER again, biology... EVER!
I’m taking both huge and comp gov this year and if you’re going to take comp gov, 100% take huge first or during, it’ll make your life way easier
Secondly, huge is my school’s entry level AP it’s one of the three that you can take from freshman year so yeah great class I love it I have a great teacher
AP comp gov tho is currently the bane of my existence it’s terrible because it’s the teacher’s first year teaching and she has no idea what she’s doing
If you’re going to take comp gov, HAVE SELF DISCIPLINE AND KNOW HOW TO SELF STUDY!!! YOU CANNOT PASS IF YOU DONT

ok I took ap human last year, got a 1 on the ap exam so love that- im currently in ap chem, I willingly am taking it, I enjoy it, im just not good on the tests lol
hey, everyone has their own strengths - mine just isnt stem😭
As someone who got a 5 in seminar, my teacher was amazing and I plan to take research with her in my junior year, a lot of people just don’t take the class seriously but it is easy if you prioritize it, also it was easier than ap csp for me so it might just be that I hated my csp teacher which is why I kind of didn’t care for the class😭
how did you make it past AP Euro, im barely surviving

Do you have any tips for AP biology. I’m stressing out and I don’t know if I should drop it?
Ummm....I willingly took AP Chem this year, just finished the AP, easier than I expected. And I enjoyed the class a lot. Do I have childhood trauma?
Yes
A senior xc friend I run with said that AP chemistry was one of his favorite classes 😂😂
he's built different

I want to meet someone who didn’t 😭
0:45 I wonder is the curriculum has changed at all, so far for the first 3 units I’ve learned it’s been mainly Asian and Middle eastern history with a bit of Central American, European, and African history
hi! fellow current APWH student, yes i believe they revamped the time periods in 2020? before the curriculum was more general and begun from paleolithic era :)
I was gonna take AP Chem this year but there wasn't enough enrollment so my school dropped the course 😭maybe it's a sign
the last part was seriously amusing and I could strongly relate to that

AHHH THANK YOU!!!
i'm like a year late, but i hope you find time to answer this. i have a one spot took take another ap class next year which will be my senior year. in your opinion, should i take ap comp sci or ap stats? im already planning on taking ap cal if that's relevant. also THANK YOU for putting physics and chemistry where they belong. i literally understand next-to-nothing in those classes and i thought i was too blame:')
i always say it depends on what you want to major in/are interested in, or what credits what you want to get! some colleges don't take cs or stats (or both calc and stats at once) so check if that's relevant to you :) personally, i'd die taking calc and stats at once, but hey if you're a math wiz..go for it! ap cs is just java if I remember correctly (i prefer python..) but still useful if you want to go into cs cuz I'm actually struggling with java rn lol
Honestly yes. You had me at the title of the video because it made me laugh and it’s also a pretty realistic statement.
Also, the comments throughout the video are pretty casual. That made me laugh more because I’m not expecting these comments
the AP World one hit home, I loved the class and my teacher was amazing, but it is soo white.
What do u learn in world history
so true, i’ve taken ap euro this year and i love it but it would be interesting to learn about other cultures
What history course would you recommend I have the option to take AP gov, AP psych, or AP human geography this is for my senior year
my favorite was psych but gov is probably most useful for credits and knowledge!
I’m so nervous to take ap biology in sophmore Year. Firstly, I am a hard worker but sometimes it’s hard for me to grasp things quickly.

I’m taking stats next yr, I feel that I’ll be more comfortable with it bc calc appears to be challenging.
I’m scared for AP Bio now-
i’ll pray for u😭
Just got through a year of AP chemistry and I agree…
