10:09 I am a child therapist - I work in a field where it’s almost ALL women. I have been touched - flirted with. I have female coworkers touch my butt at happy hour - touch my thigh - supervisors. It’s not just men that do this. I am 40 now and it still happens. When I was 25-30, I got it all the time from my older female supervisors. Now as a man I never felt like I was truly afraid of these people - but I was sabotaged for promotions a few times for not playing along with people.
RAD, you've always been a stand-up individual. Its good to know you've always had integrity and stuck to your values. That helps out the women out who traverse the media space behiend you. Keep up the amazing work! With that being said, Marcellus Wiley already confirmed some of the allegations in the lawsuit to be true on his podcast today. He obviously used to work for Fox Sports and has connections and insider knowledge so I'm gonna say NO, this definitely will not go away. Fox will eventually have to try and settle out of court or this will get extremely messy. I hope Ms. Fajima gets the justice she's seeking if all is proven to be true.
Men respect competence. Perfect example Caitlin Clark. She’s a great basketball player that’s why she’s well respected. If a woman does something and is good at it she earns our respect. However there are women who will take the easy road of leveraging their beauty to move ahead. It all comes down to your morals and values. That’s what makes you you. Keep being great Rachel I started following you because you give good takes on sports (women’s sports) With the rise of Caitlin Clark that niche is growing very fast and I think you’ll be successful in it.
Agree. It happens everywhere, though industries/careers where you have so many competing for so few spots often makes it a lot easier for people who want to use their positions of power for their own corrupt purposes.
Stuff like this is exactly why women face discrimination and aren't taken as seriously in the professional workplace. I feel bad for all the real female journalists that don't sleep around and threaten people with MeToo. This is going to set back all female sports analysts for years.
As it should! Women keep fighting to get into exclusively male spaces, then complain about how men act in those spaces. Example: Female journalists fought to get into mens locker rooms(for quotes after the games), then sued men, because men were naked in their own locker rooms.🧐
i doubt any company ink would let you anyways so you're smart to not bother trying or else you would surely end up like FS1 & skip or all the members of congress outed during Metoo or whatever.
Thank goodness you had the wits and self-confidence to "just say no" to these men of position and power. If you had given in, there would be a point where you would not have a choice at all.
this sounds like you're callin Joy a victim. She is no victim. She perpetuated this. She initiated this and created it. She's the "men of position and power" in your comment b/c she created this.
Unfortunately there is always something going on 🙈 Thanks for this video for your insights and analytics about the situation great job with it. Happy New Year Rachel 😊👋
Dear Rachel. Please excuse my English, its not my first language. I agree with all you said in the video. My 2 cents in the topic are: 1. I love your videos because you do the homework and prepare for them. I see beautiful women (men) asking stupid questions all the time. No knowledge no preparation. 2. Some people have hidden agendas, all the time. It is infuriating. Recently you see it all the time with CC22. For any basketball fan she should be recognized as a prodigy but again stupidity prevail. Keep your good work 🎉.
As a man, I am sorry that you experienced some hostility for you refusing to entertain some individuals' advances. It's great to see that you've been able to rise to where you are without succumbing to those advances. It's a humbling reminder that we can all be susceptible to our flesh, so we should remain steadfast in faith, discipline, and genuine care/respect for one another. Great content as always. God bless you
You followed your instincts Rachel. That is always the smartest thing to do! Never let anyone make you feel you are not worthy of respect especially in business. You're an inspiration ❤❤❤
@420blowingsmoke: I cared at first but I do think Jenny was the stronger host/moderator, she was awesome! She’s beautiful too, I wouldn’t say more beautiful than Joy but I liked her personality a lot.
I appreciate your perspective. And as always, very well said. I would go further and say this happens regardless of gender with people in power positions. There just happens to be more men in powerful positions, but that’s rapidly changing. I know several women throughout my career who have been in powerful positions that have also engaged in this behavior with subordinates. I have also had similar situations as you had in business, except with a woman making the advances. Power corrupts people across the spectrum. Ultimately I hope the truth comes out and justice is served. This type of harassment should never be tolerated in or out of the workplace.
OMG the quality of your content is amazing. I remember being blown away by your basketball skills in a celebrity game. I think your background in sports as a player and student of the game adds value to anything you do. ❤🤩
Smh look at the joy Taylor effect, now Rachel feels like she has to tell her story showing that she didn’t sleep her way to where she’s at. I can see more women having to do this because of her.
I always loved and appreciated the quality of the content you are making, especially in times when a pretty face and flirty personality will easily get you more views than working your butt off to actually make good content. Now I respect you even more, for being smart and sticking to your core values in a situation where many (both women and men!) would compromise themselves for financial gain without blinking if given the same opportunity.
I've seen this in a totally different industry that I've worked for and it's gross. I also see lots of women convincing other women that they should use their body to climb the ladder and it's sad. I would hate for my daughter to be preyed on like that
Apologies. But the fact that Skip is mentioned first to me here is a no. JOY TAYLOR should be in the front of this. Let the light shine on a woman. Either way, all individuals in this is just all bad. Cranky morning on my end also. Appreciated the story time
This occurs in many industries, sadly. Back in the late 90’s, I was an over the road trainer for a trucking company. One of the people I trained was a woman. After her 2 weeks of training were up, she thanked me profusely for not propositioning her. When she was in truck driving school, the other girls were talking how many were pressured for s3x, and she wanted the job so bad, she was willing to do what she had to. We’ve lost touch over the years, but we were friends and she was always so thankful for our training time together. I do not know, or claim that this was the way of the industry, but our experience turned out well, and she wound up being a great driver for the company.
Thank you for sharing your stories, they help more girls than you know..so as someone who loves his family of women. I truly appreciate you sharing your experiences
Thank you for sharing your stories and experiences in the industry. Great advice for any young females wanting to get involved in your field. Props to you for following your instincts. Spreading this example will hopefully enable more young women to recognize creeps and their ulterior motives, and begin to stamp out such inappropriate behaviour.
Great video !! Good to get your perspective !! Those kinds of situations are all around and your idea as a professional woman of keeping yourself at the top of your game and being aware is good !! Would love to hear more about this from you as things develop !!
Excellent work. You are intelligent and articulate, and very interesting to listen to. Thank you for the perspective on important subjects like this, plus your insight on all the noise surrounding the WNBA. Caitlin Clark is a treat to watch, as are so many others. Keep going,
Love your insight on this topic, Rachel. You make great points by saying yes there’s a problem with men and power, but that’s also a problem with women enabling the men to use their power and also using your example as a fact that you can turn down these situations and still eventually become successful
Society is very sad. My beautiful girlfriend couldn't even make it out of college before having one of her crucial grades for graduation be dependent on sleeping with a professor who of course she never made advances on and she was preyed upon, etc....But there are some of us good men left who were mortified by that story and won't take advantage of our power...But it does help that I don't need to force a girl to sleep with me...I'm attractive, tall, smart...It's the guys who can't get girls any other way except coercion that are most of the problem..but some guys are just greedy and while they do not need to coerce a girl will abuse their power...it sucks...but hey it's not all of us men..trust me on that...And hopefully with these men now going to jail etc this culture of abuse stops....And that just goes for anyone with power...Women are guilty of abusing when they have power as well...Making sure there are consequences in a must to make things better....I think we're on the right path going forward..
Rachel, you’re smart, intelligent, hard working , well spoken and beautiful a beautiful women. Shame on those weak men that only thinks about their little sticks.
Thank you for sharing your story about that exec. It must have been super cringe and very scary going through it but it's a strong learning lesson for future generations of women!
Kudos to you Rachel. So easy to jump on the bandwagon of moral outrage here. So much more helpful to encourage by example that "No" is a choice worth making.
I agree with you to a point. But even as a woman, i have seen many women allowing things to happen for their advantages, allowing things to happen. Woman need to grow a backbone and to use their brain.
I think that sharing your experiences gives greater credibility to your insight and input on the ongoing Fox case. Especially for the younger women who might find themselves in similar circumstances or situations that you were in when you were their age. Those were important words of advice. By the way, what is the phrase that you end your show with? Am I hearing it right that you’re saying “uwi na”-which means either “I’m going home already “ (a short version of “uuwi na ako”in Tagalog the Filipino national language)? I could be wrong of course, but just wanted to let you know that if you don’t speak Tagalog, that’s what I am hearing since I can speak the language 🙂
Another great video Rachel 🎉 so on point and 💯 correct ✅ Unfortunately this issue has been around since Adam was a cowboy! I’m now 66 and thankfully growing up my Dad taught us the difference on how males think v females - I had to laugh when you told us that 2nd story on males thinking Bellow the belt - as that’s what Dad said and told us certain lines, if a male says this .. this is what he is actually meaning - best education my sisters and I could have had.. I certainly used it to survive in corporate upper to middle management for the last 50 odd years
First off, great job with the donations. It's a fantastic cause to help out animals like you did. Taking any accusation seriously is a must, but I need to wait until things unfold before I start passing judgement. I'm sure many narratives will be pushed while we wait for facts to unfold. Meanwhile, I have a tendancy to want to dismiss the part where the terms "Patriarchy" or "Misogyny" are used. Both terms are easily and often used incorrectly for badfaith arguements. But again I'll wait to pass judgement until facts are layed out.
Rachel, I have a lot of respect for you! If you're not comfortable with meeting with someone because you know that situations are changing, then take a HARD PASS on the interview, because the position is not worth the uncomfortable situation.
Good for you, Rachel. I’m so glad that you realised what was going on before anything untoward could happen. That shows how strong you are as a person. My only worry is that these horrible situations could end up being so different for a young naive female. Sad times. Great video btw.
It is not just a Hollywood/entertainment issue. When I was a waitress, I had the owner tell me if I would just go away w/him for a weekend I would not have to work again (all while his wife & co-owner was standing 10 ft away from us). It is just that industries where competition is very high & the chance of making it & being successful is so low just makes it easier to be preyed upon by those who are willing to abuse their power.
Rachel, I have enjoyed your content for some time now. Your takes and analysis are refreshingly on point and I enjoy the female perspective on sports issues. This was a very interesting show and thank you for your transparency. I wish more women would share their truths because the next ambitious young lady may not see the trap that was being set and may have gotten caught up.
If someone says they are 'uncomfortable' by a situation. That's the end of it. If the person in power, or in control of the situation doesn't respect that. THEY are in the wrong. It's that simple. Not complicated.
What’s sad is the narrative that we all see women in sports television receive from naysayers seems to be confirmed by the actions of one even if it’s second hand knowledge in a lawsuit it’s going to be the narrative going forward anytime a new woman comes on the scene and she doesn’t have stellar credentials from jump and even then I’m sure some will snicker.
I agree that this problem will never go away. It's like trying to "solve" prostitution. There will always be women supplying therefore the demand will always be met.
ANYONE WHO DONATES THEIR TIME AND MONEY TO ANIMAL WELFARE , IS A SIGN OF A GOOD PERSON , THANK YOU FOR THAT , THAT SAID ,SEXUAL MISCONDUCT IN THE WORKPLACE , ITS A MINEFIELD , THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ,ARE THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED, THE TRUTH WILL OUT , RACHEL ,GREAT SHOW AS ALWAYS ❤️
I’m sure there are some truths, some exaggerations, and some false allegations. Will wait for all sides to give their sides and hopefully if she was wronged she gets whatever she’s asking for and if she is in the wrong that those who she are accusing don’t lose their careers.
Well said. It’s complicated. If you find friends or romance in the course of doing business I think that’s ok, but if you make romance a condition for doing business it’s wrong.
It's a woman's choice; your morals will guide you- no judgemental what you're willing to do. It's the fact then that SOME women choose to then turn it around to benefit themselves in a lawsuit. Did I not hear on another podcast that Joy Taylor stated that if necessary, she will throw that at the executive if things don't go her way- or benefit her well being. That's the problem with these lawsuits after a couple decades.
Thank u for telling us what really goes on behind the scenes I know it's not easy but u are brave and yes their are sick people in the world but we all like u said have the power to shut them down
Keep in mind , no law firm would file a 42 page complaint without valid proof . And probably has even more documated facts and proof of the wrong doing .
This is something that young women should hear, opportunistic / evil intent abounds. Tis important to be discerning and patient with success. Thanks for this post, very enlightening for the young.
"Who cares who is sleeping with who?"... outside of the buisness culture, that can apply. But within the legal perameters of workplace culture & according to Federal Employment laws established in this country, it really IS a big deal. THINK: If what Ms. Faraji alleges is "no big deal", then why is there a team of lawyers supporting her in drafting a legal suit. She isnt just asking for a bunch of money, but she is seeking to drag them to face a litigation in a legal trial. It amounts to conflict of interest, inappropriate behavior between a manager and their employee opens the door for the entire corporation to face costly legal ramifications. And in this case, a corporation that can have its brand damaged resulting in loss of sponsorships- which equates to loss in revenue. Easily one can see Fox trying to make an offer to settle this thing out of court or taking the risk to go to trial and fight against these allegations that they "tolerated" this culture of unprofessionalism that encouraged such power dynamics resulted in "no big deal sexuall assaults/workplace harassment". Go to your employer and ask them if such behavior is "no big deal".
Props to you for achieving your goal in that industry without compromising yourself

Way to go on making wise choices! That could’ve been a very dangerous situation for you. Stay safe always and keep up the good work.
Adding to my downloads so i can watch while im chilling at work lol
Rachel, you’re smart, intelligent, hard working , well spoken and beautiful a beautiful women. Shame on those weak men that only thinks about their little sticks.
Thank you for sharing your story about that exec. It must have been super cringe and very scary going through it but it's a strong learning lesson for future generations of women!
Kudos to you Rachel. So easy to jump on the bandwagon of moral outrage here. So much more helpful to encourage by example that "No" is a choice worth making.
Least shocking revelation ever lmao
yeah imagine being shocked that Joy slept her way to the top and planned to "mee too" anyone who resisted? lolol
Excellent ramble!
How refreshing to know that your success is yours alone!
Another great video Rachel 🎉 so on point and 💯 correct ✅
Unfortunately this issue has been around since Adam was a cowboy!
Hilarious because there was Memes about being next in the train with the “IT’s MY TURN!!”😭
Rachel, I have a lot of respect for you! If you're not comfortable with meeting with someone because you know that situations are changing, then take a HARD PASS on the interview, because the position is not worth the uncomfortable situation.
You've got your mind right and have Important Advice for women at this time (all times?) in our Corperate Society.
Sounds like a retirement plan for a makeup artist.
Good for you, Rachel. I’m so glad that you realised what was going on before anything untoward could happen. That shows how strong you are as a person. My only worry is that these horrible situations could end up being so different for a young naive female. Sad times. Great video btw.
There is so much to tell that hasn't been told and there are faults on all sides...
Rachel,
I have enjoyed your content for some time now. Your takes and analysis are refreshingly on point and I enjoy the female perspective on sports issues.
This was a very interesting show and thank you for your transparency. I wish more women would share their truths because the next ambitious young lady may not see the trap that was being set and may have gotten caught up.
Great video!
If someone says they are 'uncomfortable' by a situation. That's the end of it. If the person in power, or in control of the situation doesn't respect that. THEY are in the wrong. It's that simple. Not complicated.
Very relevant episode,,,hope a lot of women interested to get into the industry watch and absorb this content. Great work,,,,!!
Thanks for the input. I’ll have to talk with my younger sister that’s in HS about these creepy men with “power”.
I agree that this problem will never go away. It's like trying to "solve" prostitution. There will always be women supplying therefore the demand will always be met.
You saw the casting couch and said “Naw”. You did not trade your integrity for fame and money. Other people don’t.
This thumbnail reminds me of the Emma Roberts meme where the other girl is whispering in her ear 😂
Teach your kids the right way and be the role model they need, especially the boys.
ANYONE WHO DONATES THEIR TIME AND MONEY TO ANIMAL WELFARE , IS A SIGN OF A GOOD PERSON , THANK YOU FOR THAT , THAT SAID ,SEXUAL MISCONDUCT IN THE WORKPLACE , ITS A MINEFIELD , THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED ,ARE THE INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED, THE TRUTH WILL OUT , RACHEL ,GREAT SHOW AS ALWAYS ❤️
very inspiring rant 😄
An intelligent women of character and discernment, that's whats really attractive for real men.
Thank you Rachel for letting your light shine! 🙂👍
power imbalances in industry! who'da thunk n this day and age. you go girl. keep doing what you are doing.
Thank u for telling us what really goes on behind the scenes I know it's not easy but u are brave and yes their are sick people in the world but we all like u said have the power to shut them down
Joy Taylor showing some that hard work is all you need. Kim K also said the same thing.👀
Keep in mind , no law firm would file a 42 page complaint without valid proof . And probably has even more documated facts and proof of the wrong doing .
Thank you for your hard work for the animals. Couldn’t be a better place to send money.
This is something that young women should hear, opportunistic / evil intent abounds. Tis important to be discerning and patient with success. Thanks for this post, very enlightening for the young.
I'm thinking Nike and Lake Oswego for the first story.
If that's the case, Lake Oswego is like 15 miles from Nike WHQ
"Who cares who is sleeping with who?"...
outside of the buisness culture, that can apply. But within the legal perameters of workplace culture &
according to Federal Employment laws established in this country, it really IS a big deal.
