Ari manifested this role…meeting Kristin backstage at Wicked as a child…performing “The Wizard and I” at 13…collaborating with MIKA on “Popular Song” which samples Wicked in 2012…working with Kristin on Hairspray Live! in 2016…performing “The Wizard and I” 4 years ago at the Wicked 15th Anniversary…releasing “A Hand for Mrs. Claus” with Idina in 2019…having Kristin as her guest coach on “The Voice”…to now being cast as Glinda. ☺️✨🎀 She has been working her whole life towards this and I am so happy for her. It’s nice to see people reach their dreams.
I never realized she worked with Kristin on "Hairspray Live." I just thought about how Dove Cameron was in that show and how Kristin was trying to suggest her for the role. Never realized Dove and Ariana worked together.
Kristen Chenoweth definitely needs to be in the movie. If not in a bigger role (I would love her as Miss Morrible) then a small cameo as Glinda’s mother or whatever.

You can see her doing the "I'm looking up and pausing to hold back my tears" a few times talking about Ariana at the beginning. She's not super emotional, but you can tell it got to her talking about their history
she still earned it and went through the audition process like everyone else. Wicked name alone was going to garner traffic whether she was cast or not, especially since people have been waiting a decade for this movie
Not true, it’s a film and Ariana is taking a break from music so this could work. If this was a live show then I’d understand but now, literally she’ll film the 2 movies, do the press and move on
