I completely agree with everything that you have said. I ran 13 miles today straight out of the box and was really worried when I tried them on that they weren’t going to be a shoe that I would want to run more than 2 miles in but, I couldn’t stop running today, literally was only planning to do maybe a seven or 8 mile run and I just wanted to keep running… Completely surprised me because of the way the upper felt initially I was really worried I wasn’t going to like them. This is my first experience in Adidas ftwr so will be interesting to put more miles on them and see how they do, especially the foam. Thanks for the review! Cheers!
Why its feels so good cushion is because it is actually not a top layer of lightstrike but a rim of lightstrike around full hight lightstrike pro. S it adds stability but doesnt take away from the cushion.
Nice review. I agree they are really good shoes, snappy nimble and light. The LS basic foam wraps around the outside upper border with LS Pro fully as base.
hi! from Brazil here. would like to know if the shoe os ok to do roads. the price is just too good for this fine thin upper and the pro foam. but gonna use almost only on roads. is it worth? thanks. great review.
I totally agreed with all your point except grip and drainage. I don't think the lug pattern is really good. My first 35km run with 590m elevation went through river crossing single track grass, mud...etc it was a good test and the shoe did pretty well. I find the drainage not bad, though not great after the initial 300m in the water. I got mine for 38% off Rrp, so it was a great deal for a bouncy shoe.
I saw that the outsole 'neck' between the heel and the forefoot to be super narrow. Did you find this to be the cause of the heel instability you mentioned?
Hi! Nice review of the speed. Can you maybe do a review of the Ultra also? The ultra doesn’t have carbon rods btw, it’s plastic TPU rods so it shouldn’t be as stiff as a carbon racer. The plastic rods is more for stiffening up the full midsole of the more softer lightstrike pro. Thanks!
Run4Adventure has a First Run Agravic Speed rewiew. There is a comment there, one guy has a lot of Adida's shoes and have both Agravic Ultra and Agravoc Speed, and gives a wonderfull insight of both. Took me a long time to find it, hope it serves you well. 👍🙌🇧🇷
Underfoot comfort is similar, maybe a little more firm and bouncy in the adidas. Upper comfort in the adidas isn’t even close to being as good as the Norda.
Did you have problems with the side walls digging into your ankles whilst wearing them in? My first run in these shoes, they were digging into the bottom portion of my ankles every time I turned left or right.
@@swiftcolin Thanks! Also, how do you compare the agravic speed to the hierro v7? I have Hierro v7, and the midsole feels dead (almost dull) on fast, rough/technical downhill. Does the agravic speed do the job any better on that use case?
Unfortunately I haven’t, mostly run trails, but I know the 12’s have light strike pro on top and light strike underneath and this shoe is the opposite, so I’m assuming the agravic speed would feel a little more firm, but I can’t say for sure.
Ho, for 75k runner, what will be the max distance you will say have enought confort and cushion? 42k 50? 100? Also you find have good propulsion even without plate? Thanks! Thanks

Yea these are a nice surprise for sure!!
Awesome. I wore these for a 55k race. Was perfect. Everything u said
Glad to hear they worked well for that distance!

Makes sense!!

Agreed! Explains why it’s such a fun bouncy shoe.

Yea decent on roads too

Awesome review! I'm actually eyeing this one. How do you compare them to the tnf vectiv pro in terms of midsole?
It’s a lower stack but it’s actually a similar feeling foam, great cushion with a lot of bounce.
I saw that the outsole 'neck' between the heel and the forefoot to be super narrow. Did you find this to be the cause of the heel instability you mentioned?
I didn’t notice that, it was more of a rounded feel in the heel for me

Would love to! Just don’t wanna spend the $300 Canadian lol

Look Andrew's comment, just checked there. Great insight.
How would you say these compare in comfort compared to the Norda 001?
Underfoot comfort is similar, maybe a little more firm and bouncy in the adidas. Upper comfort in the adidas isn’t even close to being as good as the Norda.

I don’t think so, I usually wear pretty thick socks though
Thanks for your response @swiftcolin appreciate it. I'll try wearing padded socks and see how I go.
looking forward to the TNF Vectiv Infinite II review!
I gave those away, but I can say they are fantastic, much preferred those over the Vectiv Pro’s

@shohibwijaya7904 yea it feels like a way faster shoe than the Hierro.
@@swiftcolin thanks!
Have you try the boston 12, if so does it feel the same ? Or is it more bouncy or firm ?

How’s the fit vs the adios pro? I have the adios 8 and sl. Bought are quite short and narrow in the forefoot.
These run a little longer than the pro’s, and maybe a little roomier in the toebox too.

Definitely up to 50, maybe even 100. It’s not exactly like a plated shoe, but the cushion has great bounce.
👍
Another trail shoe in this class thats actually underrated Asics fujispeed!
I’ve been really wanting to try those out!
is this better than merrel agility peak 5?
Unfortunately I’ve never tried the Agility Peak
Can you please do a top 5
Current or all time?
@@swiftcolinboth 😂
My top 5 would go:
1. Hoka Speedgoat 4
2. Norda 001
3. Hoka EVO Speedgoat
4. Norda 002
5. Adidas Terrex Agravic Speed
