I have Ford Puma ST 2022. Stock exhaust, I unplugged the sensor a while back. Valve is open all the time. Sounds much better at all speeds.
Would this cause any long term issues? Or is the Valve purely for sound?

If you're removing a valve we always recommend this is either coded out or you attach a blanking plug to the cabling to protect the wiring connector. We've not come across issues with removing valves on our own vehicles as long as it is completed correctly.

What is the difference in decibels on that mini?

    • @Exhaustsounds

92.4dB at 4000RPM with the valve open and 88.1dB with the valve closed.

How to stock exhausts work ? Are valves only open at a certain RPM ? Is the only reasons valves are there is for emissions and noise pollution ?

Valves work in various ways depending on the specific vehicle. On certain cars they operate on a vacuum system which opens the valve depending on how far the accelerator is pressed, whereas on other models the valve may open if you switch from ‘Comfort’ to ‘Sport’ drive mode.
The purpose of the valves is to deliver a driving experience where you can enjoy a louder exhaust on a fun road, but when you are wanting to have a quieter note such as on a long journey the valve is then closed and the exhaust is quieter.

We felt the video was a little flat without the music but perhaps the mix isn't quite right, feedback noted :)

Is this road legal? Will the car pass the MOT ?

The addition of an exhaust valve will not cause a car to fail an MOT and will still be road legal.
