UNBELIEVABLE!! This piece just brought me to tears.....WOW!! I remember listing to this song on the radio as a teenager and it would blow my mind on how strong the music and lyrics were, Take a bow my friend, awesome job, can't wait to hear "Good morning girl" By Journey.
I only listened to Dave playing Journey (I'm a huge journey fan). As soon as I heard the first seconds of this song, I realize how incredibly talented he is. I will now listen to all of the "non-Journey" songs which means hours of utter bliss / Thanks Dave as you have brought so much joy to my life!!!
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful ... or let me tell you in German: WUNDERSCHOEN !!! Dear Dave, I love the way you are interpreting this song on your keyboard. I am always astonished about this perfect harmony & fluency I can perceive in your performances. Great, great job ! Thank you for sharing these masterpieces with us here on YT. L&H, Ute.
Perhaps a small hint to any Marillion-fan; Google 'Lavender's Blue'... The text originally derived from late 17th century in England. Fish (the lyricist of this Marillion-song) used just a few lines of this old folk-rhyme and turned it into a worldclass hit & an eternal classic. The great music to this song however was written by the other Marillion-bandmembers (Kelly, Rothery, Trewavas & Mosley). Since this song is "ageless', my guess is that in 60 years from now artists worldwide still will either cover this song or take inspiration from this particular song. Within 250 years from today, original Marillion-recordings or writings will be worth millions on the market. This band 'freed' itself from the ties imposed by the recordcompanies & was part of the creation for the current day fundraising model for today's bands. Could you imagine in 200 years from now the bandportrait of Marillion hanging next to Bach, Beethoven & Mozart in some famous music-hall...???
Wonderful interpretation David !! I got some shiver on my arms, when I lesson. Thank you so much again. By the time,I would say: I like your crucifix a lot.So simple and beautiful. Have a lovely week dear. Catherine *****
