I generally preferred (too old to surf now!) a point break. But being goofy foot, the best breaks in so-cal are backside. Lottsa fun nevertheless. Enjoyed old man's next to trestles. Gentle slope, easy catch, good rides. This was during 60s up til c. 5 or 6 yrs ago. Started surfing in '63 on a used 8'10" pop- out...no decal...lol. for hi school graduation-1966- folks bought me a slightly used 10' hansen....awesome board. Last board i owned was 6'8"...forgot decal. In my son-in- law's garage now. Transferred to boogeyboarding in my sunset yrs. Lottsa fun too. Yep, great memories. I rode motorcycle for 20 yrs, too. Faves were my last 2: kawi 1600 cruiser and kawi 650 ninja. Frau furrowed her brow cuz both in garage at same time. No problem. still married, +52 yrs. I promoted myself to boogeyboards...just as much fun...actually easier to ride...jmhofwiw. Later, gators!
I have one of these boards and they go insanely well. Took it to San Miguel on 4-6 ft day and I caught way more waves than usual and was doing better carves than I've ever done. It didn't feel like I was ripping but when I saw the clips my buddy got of me I was shocked at how smooth the turns looked and how much spray they were throwing. This board changed my whole outlook on surfboard design
Your surfing looked 1000x better on thr board you "didn't connect with" That other board was so slow and wide You look like you're driving a pontoon boat You even feel off a wave that had plenty left cause you had to hang an enormous cutback and couldn't save it
I've never ridden a new board in my entire life. Haha.
Same, my current setup of both board and fins costs a total of $55 and I love it!

more than anything the board looks real heavy. definitely a speed control design.
That board / those waves look fun. 🙌
DEFINITELY beautiful turns, miniMickyCaramel 😍
Great episode, please keep doing more unpopular board review, love to get your input on those boards, thanks for a great episode
Haven't seen the one bootie style since Rob Machado back in the day.
I think a sheet of plywood could be magic in perfect trestles or bsr. For the real test paddle out at knee to thigh high Jax Beach
awww for sure broo ,,used boards are the shit!!!!!!magic is everywhere!!!!!
Not a lot of Pop in That Twin..Boggy.
floater at 4:19 was nutso!
I’d love to be the middle skeg
the upspeak in the narration, starting about halfway thru

I think you need to address the one booty decision...
songname? :)

Look sluggish/ boggy and heavy in the small stuff. Maby be better on bigger days with open face long wall. 🤷🏽♂️
He says multiple times that it’s too big for him
What’s funny is that he said the first one was too big and that thing he was made to take was bigger and way more shitty
Am I the only one who doesn’t like that board and am pretty sure that they made him take their shop board lol
