0:14 Hey Scrapyard, in the shot of this tender (that's 98462's tender) what's this supposed to mean. Does it show 98462 being scrapped/cut up or him being built.
That was 87546. The video takes place in 1924, shortly after the homicide in December the previous year (see ‘Arrogance’ to better understand). 87546 was scrapped the day after his crash, with the tender being the last thing on the list. What’s seen there is a discussion on whether to keep the tender as a spare, or scrap it with its original locomotive.
After the homicide of 1923, Cranstall took on the 87546 number & so did the dead engine’s work. Unlike his predecessor, Cranny was very reserved & considerably competent. Following the Great Depression’s hit in 1929, Topham - like many a businessman - had to make reluctant, but necessary choices. Cranny, like every engine on the island, was well aware & offered to be scrapped in order to make some sort of profit.
@@ScrapyardStudios wouldn't it make more sense to scrap the older pre-grouping engines, keep Cranstall in service and delegate an engine (for example Henry) to secondary services to keep costs down?
That song took me wayyyy back! Loved the close-up shots in particular. Great work!

Lovely and charming! Beautiful video and another banger, Scrapyard!
Amazing Scrapyard, So good!
Love that at 0:13, you subtly implied that 87546 was scrapped (BTW, I think he was scraped because of how rude he was to the other engines).
Oh, he definitely is scrapped. But the reasoning for why is deeper than that:

Quesiton: we saw what happened to 98462 and 87546, but what about Carnstall?
