I’m 3 months into HB160 ownership. Great bike that is very endearing. Total ride performance is not quite as good as Rocky Altitude it replaced. But.... I spend large amounts of time just staring at it. Simply beautiful and a level of build quality that has clearly come from the hands of Craftsman...
Its a lovely looking bike but for me its aa much about the components too. I like the fact that it uses quality bearings, hubs, headset , BB in fact all the things that other manufactuers skimp on when it comes to premium bikes. Its just nice to ride something that is going to be as tight as and last.
Not a bike that floats my boat, but I like the fact that they’ve up the stakes regarding geometry and I really appreciate the design and details. Then of course, it’s nice having all the Hope parts added to it, but at that cost, I’d go for something else. Who knows, if they start producing a carbon rear end and add a little more to the length and push the geometry a bit, then maybe I’d consider them... if I had the money in the first place, that is.
Saw a few at Hope pre Peaks. Looked stunning and the people test riding them were enthusiastic about the performance. Proper dream bike from the best guys in the business.
Hey Dan, had a good look at one of the new SB130s in my local bike shop earlier today, it looks amazing. Beautiful engineering! Anyway hope you're well.
Do a video based on the new calibre bossnut, calibre have really upped the spec compared to last year and an amazing bike for the price of £1100 from go outdoors
Mountain Bike Rider Thanks for the reply. I would say that this should be in the review. For such an expensive bike it’s a pretty big downside to only be able to use Hope hubs.
Yep same as other bike with the ha and bb settings. I'm thinking this year there should be steep discounts because there are so many that look and rid exactly the same.
I’ve seen a 160 in the flesh and it was a little wanting. A carbon rear end would be nice at this price too and is quite frankly, something I’ve come to expect, especially with kit prices and bike prices rising as they are. I did find the junction between alloy tubing to not quite flow into each other. There was a slightly sharp edge where they’ve been bonded (seatstays). Hopefully, that’s been rectified.

Yeah, much better bikes in this price range.
Almost a 29er 5010!
I've loved Hope products for over 20 years. This is one bike I would dearly love to own though sadly I don't think I'd ever be able to afford it now.
Loved the first Hope bike and love this one, my dream bike 👍
I'd love to ride this, similar linkage to my Rocky Mountain which also has Eagle, Minion up-front but weighs a ton.
Heartbreak Ridge outside Ballater 🤟🏻 amazing trail
first thing i noticed as well
My dream bike hope hb130

Robert Falk hey Rob! Good to hear from you! Hope you’re doing well 👍
@@dzmilner hello . How tall are you. Thinking of getting one of these and I'm 6 foot. Not sure if I need l or xl
Love Hope products, would love to have this bike in chrome and black. A bit too much $$ for someone like me though.
Would love to ride this beast
Did a demo ride on the 160 this past summer, I thought it was awesome! Too many $$$ though.
8:27 HOPE You found it interesting ;-p
Think I’d have to go for Hope team green.

this is my dream mtb bike,. iam so so want it ...
Does this have a unique rear hub size? I thought I read that somewhere.
Yes, 130mm
Proprietary parts alone are a reason to not buy it.
Geoffrey Matt yes, 130mm spacing with 17mm diameter axle

mjs1231 only they don’t ride exactly the same, even if the frame layout is similar.
27.5” with 160mm of travel and a 29” with 130mm of travel. They won’t ride the same at all.
Where are those trails? They looked great.
grrlewis1 Ballater, Aberdeenshire 👍
Great video
Would this bike be a good pick for a beginner ?
Quite a fancy bike for a beginner, but sure, why not?
You got yourself out of that crouch safely yet?
Tom Locke I’m considering a shooting stick for future videos!
That much money and the rear end is aluminum?
CNC machined aluminium
Proraptor not necessarily a bad thing.

hope bikes looke like santa cruz bronson or nomad
Hope it's not too expensive... 🤐
Starts at $6,399.......
Personally I'd rather than have a lightweight water-pack than drink from a bottle covered in sheep, coo and dug shite!
Price tag of a cheap car .. Bottles cages that low on a MTB get covered in mud and dog crap, better to use a camelback
Nice. With the compliance in the chainstay/seatstay and the supple suspension, I bet it'd be a killer bike for lighter riders/women.
