Margo is in a panic about how well the Music society's production of "The Sound of Music" is going to go. Jerry also has worries of his own when he tells his boss that his friends cannot stay over at their house because Margo has her musical production and nearly loses his job!
This is one of the smartest comedies I've ever seen -- British or American. The writers are simply brilliant, and their scripts received first rate performances by every member of the cast.
And so telling of our times
Penelope Keith acting as a bad actor is wonderful
Well, thank you very much, Jerry.
Great British series ever made.
Love this show. Funny, adult, non-destructive. Wish I could talk like Barbara. Or even think that fast.
Wish I could speak like Margot! Specifically, being able to put people down in such a calm and non-intrusive way.
yey nothin like watchin these back to back
Wow, I thought I'd seen every episode, I used to watch it all the time years ago... but I don't remember this one! thanks!
"No, we've been playing strip poker with the postman." just one classic line after the other in this classic series
During the thunderstorm scene in the musical, Maria sings the Lonely Goatherd to calm the children. She only sings My Favorite Things in that scene in the film only.
Heh, there's a slum on the outskirts of Cape Town called Delft!
Thanks for these videos, Ouijabird. I never heard of this show until I moved to America in the 1980s, where I enjoyed it on my local PBS channel.
08:04 '" one house in Hilversum and one in Delft"
I live in Hilversum. Nice that my residence is mentioned in this good old serie :-)
brilliant opening scene
Love it nz
When the shark bites.
@youtubinaway In an earlier episode, Tom and Barbara were talking about free food, to which Tom stated that he had driven off by the golf course with a whole gallery of rabbits watching him ("they're all dinners" and "they're not cheap, they're free"), and that next time he went he "wouldn't take a 9-iron, he'd take a twelve bore".
funny show.. it always seems to be cloudy in England
So just part 1 of lots of different Good Life episodes? BBC scheme to get folk to buy the box set? Margot-a-go-go!
Would love Margo completely if she wasn't a Tory!
Fawlty Towers...
not "Forty"
I know I'm not alone in thinking how nice it would have been to have a bit with Barbara, but I'd have had a good go on Margo too.
Simon Wolfendale you’re a pervert that’s why
@youtubinaway
