Oh Phoebe I totally understand you…TOTALLY!!! I traveled internationally for the first time by myself last year and it was to Paris. I was with nerves and nauseous. All I was doing was praying that I get there safely. Once I got to Paris with all the jet lag, hunger, and just exhaustion, I remember getting to the Eiffel Tower the first day and was in tears. The fact that I made it and did it all on my own. So I totally get your emotions..it’s happy tears. So I’m really really happy for you.
That was me too - just praying I get there safely and then totally overwhelmed with emotion :) Funnily enough, when I was sitting on the roof of the hotel looking at the view I saw another two women walk up and do the same thing... they got out on the balcony, saw the Eiffel Tower and just started crying. It was so sweet.
Girlll, you made me cry. I am so happy for you, and so proud of you for getting out of your comfort zone. Phoebe... I completely get you girl. I went through a low period same as you where I didn't see any light but I had a moment were I realized that my rebuild was better than anything I could have imagined. Also I understand that feeling of having to pinch yourself because that was me on a snorkeling tour in Maui surrounded by the ocean, sea life, and the most beautiful scenery in the world. Just saying keep on sparkling.
I LOVE that... 'rebuild,' YES! I'm definitely in the rebuild phase right now... you kinda get reduced to rubble and then have to start putting things back together one brick at a time, working out how it all fits :) It's a process, that's for sure but I'm really starting to find myself.
It would seem so strange to travel somewhere on your own when you are used to being with someone. You are amazing for facing your fears and doing it anyway. Great video as always! Xx

“No matter how hard life gets, it can get better. You can get better.” Those are very wise words, Phoebe. And just look-it did get better. You have gotten better. The world is a beautiful place, as you know better than most from your travels. It’s also sometimes scary and, well, not so beautiful, let’s say. But those places and moments make you appreciate the beautiful ones. Same for life. Life is truly beautiful. It’s also hard and painful at times. But then you get that moment of validation and joy like you did in a hotel room in Paris. That wasn’t just a perfect view of Paris you saw. I think you also saw a moment in your heart. A realization that you can do this! You can overcome your fears. You can meet your challenges. You can live your life as you want. You can live your life for you. Your life is yours again. The past is behind you and the future ahead is bright! You earned those tears of joy! You life is not just going to be "okay" now, it’s going to be beautiful. Funny how we think our journeys are unique, only to discover the themes and events are kinda the same for us all. Your video brought that home to me. For me, my checkpoint place is Key West. I was 19 and my heart was hurting when first I went there and, just like you with Paris, it’s where I still go to know everything is going to be okay. in fact, life is going to be as beautiful as the sunset. The bell is always a reminder of either a appointment or something else for my case growing up in Paris … Ps: we seen you survive the pandemic and etc.(…..) So just be aware that whatever comes ahead? It will be walk in the park…… ( we need Amsterdam in this itinerary)

Paris does that for me too. I was at a lost point of my life, and I wrote out this list of things I wanted in life. Lots of good shoes LOL, finish my studies, and to Go to Paris were on the top of that goal setting list. At the time, it seemed impossible. About a year later, my aunt without knowing any of this, while I did actually finish school, offered for our family to go to Paris. For $300 each. (she worked in hospitality). So my dream came true. I think at this point I've been to paris 5 times, and I go back next week! Manifestation works! And yes, I have about 200 pairs of shoes too :).

Another lovely video! A tip on the Musee de l’Orangerie: get there and get in line before it opens! We did that and we actually practically had the place to ourselves even in the springtime travel rush. By the time we left an hour later it was insanity. So glad you’re doing what YOU want to do girl! ❤

I stumbled upon your vlog and I’m truly amazed by how much I can connect with your journey. Let me set the scene: I’m from the Philippines, 30 y.o and just last April, I embarked on a solo adventure across Europe. If you’re also from a developing country with a less powerful passport, you’ll get why I’m starting with this detail. First stop, Amsterdam-always at the top of my list. Then came Paris. The emotions I felt on the train from Amsterdam to Paris mirrored what you shared. It’s a mix of excitement and fear, especially with all those stories about pickpockets and scammers. Stepping off the train, anxiety gripped me, even though my hostel was less than 2 kilometers away. I opted for an Uber, just to be safe. The driver’s kindness eased my nerves instantly. The hostel receptionist was genuinely warm too. Upon reaching my room, an overwhelming wave of gratitude swept over me. I had to pause and absorb everything in that moment. I lingered by the window, gazing at the Parisian view. It’s an experience etched in my memory forever. I’m convinced-you hold the reins of your own life. ❤

For the past years I kept hearing people say it smells, full of scammers,etc. and it put me off so much but I'm glad I had a different experience and fell in love.
Love it. I’ve been kicking around the idea of planning a solo mama trip to Paris. This makes me want to do it asap! I love Big Bus, so touristy but relaxing and easy to get around with great views.
Absolutely, you should do it! I was a bit worried that it would be weird because Paris is stereotypically so romantic but a friend of mine stayed there solo for 30 days and she said it's actually a city perfect for women to explore solo and I agree! The ultimate act of self love :)
Don’t apologise for the emotion. It shows that you are working through all the events that have happened this year and that you are dealing with it. Of course there will be moments that make you look back. But what is important is that you continue to look forward as you have been doing over these past months. Your strength is showing through and you will continue to evolve and grow and be the person you want to be. Thankyou for all the tips. They certainly will help me plan for my 2 nights in Paris in April. I’m sure as you progress through Europe you will provide more wonderful tips. Not sure about the museums though. I love Paris! Such a beautiful city that has really held on to it's character. I have been a few times and would go back tomorrow. By coincidence we were at a Monet immersive exhibition this afternoon. It was really cool. Not a patch on seeing the real thing however! Never underestimate how gutsy a thing it is to travel alone. Nights alone in hotel rooms can be long. I'm doing one this week but it's quite rare for me. You should be proud. I can't wait to see what you have for us next.
You're so right - some of those nights alone can be tough! I've been having a lot of trouble with my sleep schedule haha I'm usually up at 5am and asleep by 9:30pm but suddenly I'm staying up until 1 am and sleeping later! Definitely the impact of being alone that's doing that to me! BUT I'm staying at hostels for a while so I'm making new friends which is lovely :)
Though we miss Paris but we will be heading to Bordeaux which will be our first time there.... Hope it will be a great adventure there ... I do love red wine

Paris does that for me too. I was at a lost point of my life, and I wrote out this list of things I wanted in life. Lots of good shoes LOL, finish my studies, and to Go to Paris were on the top of that goal setting list. At the time, it seemed impossible. About a year later, my aunt without knowing any of this, while I did actually finish school, offered for our family to go to Paris. For $300 each. (she worked in hospitality). So my dream came true. I think at this point I've been to paris 5 times, and I go back next week! Manifestation works! And yes, I have about 200 pairs of shoes too :).

Another lovely video! A tip on the Musee de l’Orangerie: get there and get in line before it opens! We did that and we actually practically had the place to ourselves even in the springtime travel rush. By the time we left an hour later it was insanity. So glad you’re doing what YOU want to do girl! ❤
Oh my goodness that is the BEST tip! I would love to visit again and do that... I wonder too if you booked the express pass like I did and get there for opening if you guarantee you're one of the first ones in!

I stumbled upon your vlog and I’m truly amazed by how much I can connect with your journey. Let me set the scene: I’m from the Philippines, 30 y.o and just last April, I embarked on a solo adventure across Europe. If you’re also from a developing country with a less powerful passport, you’ll get why I’m starting with this detail.
First stop, Amsterdam-always at the top of my list. Then came Paris. The emotions I felt on the train from Amsterdam to Paris mirrored what you shared. It’s a mix of excitement and fear, especially with all those stories about pickpockets and scammers. Stepping off the train, anxiety gripped me, even though my hostel was less than 2 kilometers away. I opted for an Uber, just to be safe. The driver’s kindness eased my nerves instantly. The hostel receptionist was genuinely warm too.
Upon reaching my room, an overwhelming wave of gratitude swept over me. I had to pause and absorb everything in that moment. I lingered by the window, gazing at the Parisian view. It’s an experience etched in my memory forever. I’m convinced-you hold the reins of your own life. ❤

Aahhhhh Phoebe!!! So glad you are doing what you love most!! ❤ I was there a few weeks ago to end my Europe trip, also arrived via train from Strasbourg and it was wonderful!!! For the past years I kept hearing people say it smells, full of scammers,etc. and it put me off so much but I'm glad I had a different experience and fell in love.
hahaha well, I mean you'll definitely come across scammers and bad smells but if that's all you focus on, that's all you'll see :)

Absolutely, you should do it! I was a bit worried that it would be weird because Paris is stereotypically so romantic but a friend of mine stayed there solo for 30 days and she said it's actually a city perfect for women to explore solo and I agree! The ultimate act of self love :)

Don’t apologise for the emotion. It shows that you are working through all the events that have happened this year and that you are dealing with it. Of course there will be moments that make you look back. But what is important is that you continue to look forward as you have been doing over these past months. Your strength is showing through and you will continue to evolve and grow and be the person you want to be. Thankyou for all the tips. They certainly will help me plan for my 2 nights in Paris in April. I’m sure as you progress through Europe you will provide more wonderful tips. Not sure about the museums though. I love Paris! Such a beautiful city that has really held on to it's character. I have been a few times and would go back tomorrow. By coincidence we were at a Monet immersive exhibition this afternoon. It was really cool. Not a patch on seeing the real thing however! Never underestimate how gutsy a thing it is to travel alone. Nights alone in hotel rooms can be long. I'm doing one this week but it's quite rare for me. You should be proud. I can't wait to see what you have for us next.
You're so right - some of those nights alone can be tough! I've been having a lot of trouble with my sleep schedule haha I'm usually up at 5am and asleep by 9:30pm but suddenly I'm staying up until 1 am and sleeping later! Definitely the impact of being alone that's doing that to me! BUT I'm staying at hostels for a while so I'm making new friends which is lovely :)
