Thanks for great breakdowns of the Bosa brothers, Alex. Agree Joey is a bit quicker and Nick is a bit stronger. Both are highly talented and extremely hard workers and students of the game. Joey definitely plays like the more experienced player that he is, but Nick will continue to improve. Nick got a lot leaner and stronger this year, so he's kind of a different athlete this year, perhaps more like Joey in that regard.
I always learn so much watching Alex Rollins videos. He's such an expert at breaking down plays and at explaining the intricacies of the game without alienating anyone without a well versed football vocabulary. It's a crime more football fans aren't subscribed here, Alex deserves a ton of credit for the effort he puts into these videos!
Having only recently discovered this channel, I have to say I absolutely love watching these videos. I'm hoping this year I'll be able to catch more nuance while watching the Niners, and I'm really looking forward to keeping a closer eye on Nick Bosa as long as he's on the field. I don't know if they're strong enough for a Reggie White "Hump" move. They're fast enough for an outside Chop, which is just like they're outside scissors, but instead of hitting the hands inside you are slamming downward onto the offensive lineman's wrists.
The other rumor I heard which didn't come true was that Joey wanted to refuse a contract extension and sign with SF to play with his brother. I guess his agent talked him out of it. No idea for sure though.

It's their hand technique that separates them. Lots of guys in the NFL are fast and strong but most guys don't have had technique. They have a dad that played in the NFL and good genetics but they also have had coaching from their dad and coaches to prefect their technique.
The first half of 2019, Nick was an elite run stopper. Then, in the second half, Arizona and Larry Fitzgerald pancaked him by surprise and showed the rest of the NFL that you can chip Nick with a WR. He struggled against every other team doing the same. I hope he has improved for 2021.
Yes. I remember Nick being trucked by Fitz thinking "oh shit the rest of the league is gonna see that" and it happned exactly that. However Nick only needs experience to protect himself against that.

Nick’s a beast. As a SF fan, it’s awesome to see him wreck havoc week in and week out. Obviously he’s elite as a pass rusher, and has been since day one. But did he fix his areas of weakness elsewhere this year? I’m still newer to football, so I could be completely wrong, but it looked like Nick plugged up some of those weaknesses. Playing stronger against the run (82.6 run defense grade from PFF, and didn’t miss a single tackle as a run defender and was second in TFL), and also seemed to address playing vs the mobile QB’s (which seemed to be a big weakness for SF’s defense the past few seasons). It looked like he put in a concerted effort to not just go all out trying to get to the QB. Wherein the past, the DE’s would rush too far upfield, allowing the mobile QB’s to escape the pocket and run for days. It looked like he was rushing to the depth of the QB, then stopping and not going further upfield (I think I noticed it early in the game vs Philly, where it looked like he rushed to the depth of Hurt and then stopped). SF just needs to hand him a blank check and let him fill it in. Lol
