    Wonderful place to wanna be. Great location. I've been in Tahoe once and adored it. Snow quality different to european condition. I definately wanna join one time a colorado ski vacation. Favorite vail area. Compare to euro resorts, all US ADs dont show if have and how they located cross country slopes. In EU they listed how many alpine and nordic slopes (km, length) they have prepared. In USA not so usual to do cross country skiing? I hardly can find where to go for CC-Ski in USA. At least here on YT.

    is it good to book wd epic???
    4)total we have 7 days of time? Which way is best?
    Airbnb or epic??

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      hi there,
      1. check with your pediatrician because you will be at high elevation and small children might need to be monitored more for altitude sickness
      2. epic pass only includes access to skiing, just like a regular lift ticket. but it does give you additional discounts if you book epic owned lodging or buy food at select epic restaurants. check epicpass.com for details
      3. im not sure which of these epic offers. might depend which resort you are going to. such as, keystone has an ice castle for children to play on, on the top of the mountain, no additional charge if you have a pass to get on the lift to the top. tubing probably has a discount through the ski resort with epic. i'm thinking you will have to book hot spring and snowmobile separately as they are not usually offered by ski resorts.
      4. I guess you are looking at epic which would be Breckenridge, Keystone, Vail and Beaver Creek. you could go to one or hop around to each. epic pass gives 20% discount for epic lodging so check their website pricing and compare with airbnb or non-epic hotels. they might all be similar in the end, I havent looked at pricing recently.
      Hope this helps.

    How often does vail get lots of snow? At whistler I was there a few days and it would snow like a foot every couple days. Is it consistent at vail too at the end of jan beginning of feb?

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It really depends on the snow that year. This past season was pretty bad in Colorado so the entire terrain at Vail didn’t open until late Jan, but other years can be all open and great by mid Dec. The average snowfall for whistler is 450 inches and Vail is 350 inches so overall more up in BC. Both resorts seem relatively crowded so probably get skied off pretty quickly when it does snow.

    Hey, Just Heads up for everyone, epic pass doesn’t honor there refunds policy. They have hundreds of reviews on Yelp and a 1 star rating, and a ton of stories like mine. I Just found out the hard way, I broke my foot a week before my trip.. I sent they everything they kept requested including multiple doctors notes, x rays, and discharge diagnosis paperwork stating that I had broken bone in the foot. After struggling for weeks to get anywhere I started to look online and found this is a very common problem.

    • @snowboardtraveler
      @snowboardtraveler  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      what type of terrain do you like to ride and what time of year? I'd probably lean toward Vail but if you want more double black terrain it would be park city. Vail terrain seems more accessible (minimal hike-to), easy to navigate, and back bowls are really unique experience. Park City is a combination of resorts so really spread out. Both places are probably about the same level of crowded, similar elevation, similar snowfall. Transportation is about the same, fly to Salt Lake and drive 40 minutes or fly to Vail and drive 40 minutes. For night life, Park City is an actual town and Vail is more a base village but both have great restaurants.
