5 old guys!? These 5 old guys had more energy in their performance than 6 young girls with a beautiful song that unfortunately got in the shadow of their middle school coreography. I actually felt shame while watching their attempt to dance or move in either direction. Let 3 is iconic in Croatia, over 30 years of crazy ass performances so we're not shocked with the song, it's actually pretty bland in comparison with their usual stuff. I'm happy these characters will represent us and can't wait for the first interviews. People are going to be so confused... Love it!

This song is a satirical masterpiece. No joke. No comedy. Try understanding the references. It's about Russian propensity to worship criminally psychopathic leaders like Stalin, Lenin (not ninja), Putin. And performance is deliberately provocative and chaotic as a war is. There's nothing crazy about it. It won all votes in Croatia. This year Croatia has a serious, talent propped, message. And these '5 old guys' are an intellectual powerhouse and a bellowed band for over 30 years.

Croatia was supporting NAzis and committed evil massacres during that era that were never punished or even given an apology against minorities and people of other religions, muslims, jews, orthodox, even minorities like gypsies. Saint catholics. Needless to say, they should have learned by now after their experience with WW2 or after Yugoslavia break up, that all wars are evil and all dictators as well. Supporting 99.9% wars and tyrants and bloodsheds and war acts, doesn't automatically makes you a saint or qualifies you to play judge when you clearly are not and never was neutral. Even in music. Mostly doesn't make you anti-war. And this an anti-war song. At all.

Hi! I'm from Croatia. Song is about Putin, and man in black with 2 rockets is Lenjin on croatian, english Lenin (NJINLE😁). They sing that mom bought a tractor, and for 70th birthday, Lukashenko bought a tractor for Putin. They sing that mommy kissed a moron and that he's a little psychopath...

Say what you will about this shit - but Croatia has managed to grab everyone's attention. Either you love this concoction or you hate it deeply. TOP 10 in the Grand Final *OR* last place in the Semi Final
As a Croat who understands lyrics, I would also like to provide an additional interpretation of the first two verses.
So the first verse goes "Mama kupila traktora", and it actually doesn't literally decode to Lukashenko buying a tractor to Putin, but to Russia "buying"/bribing Belarus and establishing control over Belarus. That's because "kupila" translates to "she bought". Also, беларус (=Belarus) is the best selling model of tractor in Belarus, and this makes the parody more apparent. This interpretation is important for understanding the second verse "Armageddon nona", which is harder to understand. "Nona" in Croatian means grandmother. So if "mama" = Russia, then "nona" = "Soviet Union". This makes more sense if you consider that Russia "bought" Belarus, and has now transformed itself into new Soviet Union who wants to be an empire (armageddon nona).
Finally the nonsensical spelling of alphabet letters in the middle of the song actually represents unification of (Soviet) states into new Soviet Union, which is now represented with a new symbol "ŠČ".
Also "ŠČ" is parody of letter "Z" which you can now see on Russian tanks deployed in Ukraine.
Despite being punk rockers, Let 3 are known in Croatia and ex-Yugoslav states for their unique punk rock style and deep symbolism. Their main member Mrle also writes texts for theatre plays, which is also worth pointing out.
So the whole performance must be taken into account while interpreting it, because this isn't a song you can listen to on radio, but a mini opera that makes a parody of horrors of totalitarianism.
Č (Russian Ŝ), Let3's song about Putin's ('Mother') Russia, is the most appropriate aesthetic and musical Croatian answer for the Eurovision song to the current Russian aggression. So let's decipher the text a bit. 'Mama' is constantly repeated in the song: 'Mama bought a tractor, Mama loved a moron'... 'Mama' as Mother Russia, and Belarus (Belarus) is actually a tractor model... Mother Russia (sub)bought a Tractor (Belarus) from which she also launched aggression, and from which evil is also spreading (similarly, they have been 'buying' whoever they can for years ... By the way, Putin recently received a tractor from Lukashenka for his birthday). In short, Mother Russia loves a moron - Putin - a little crocodile psychopath, who threatens armageddon, for which the little man goes to war. That's roughly how Let3 see it lyrically, the only ones on the Croatian scene who sang in a symbolic and sarcastic way about Russian aggression, which is shaping the fate of Europe. Recently, in one of the interviews, when they appeared in a TV studio with rockets with "Lenin" written on them, they said that Putin is "an example of a braggart who thinks the planet is his toy." That's what the band from the left spectrum is saying, while many others are silent! And as for the other songs, mostly rather empty and worn-out lamentations about the sufferings of love... and for that it is better to open 'The Sufferings of Young Werther'
There is also the monk symbolics with the nukes and anagram of Lenjin on his forehead. The nukes is clear: Armageddon.
Lenjin is the founder of Soviet Union and Putin is known as someone who always regretted that Soviet Union was dissolved, he wanted to reestablish it. That's the reason for the war against Ukraine: Without the second largest country, Soviet Union can't exist. So far the meaning of Lenjin.
But there is more, the monk in black apparently represents Rasputin. Read carefully: Ras-Putin.
What this means?
Putin means "the man who is on the (right) way: "Put" in Russian.
Like e.g. Jesus is the way to God for Christians: "Ich bin der Weg" in German.
So Putin is the way for the Russian nation, their saviour.
While Ras-Putin means the exact opposite. The part "Ras" in Russian means destroying of what is represented by the word following Ras. Like in Ras-kolnikov from Dostojewskis famous novel. It means to be devided in itself, a shizo.
So what Let3 wants to say: Putin, the (right) way, has chosen the (wrong) way of destruction (nukes, Ras-Putin) following the (wrong) idea of resurrection of Soviet Union, represented by their founder, Lenjin.
The song is full of symbolisms and hidden citations. That's just one of them.

Side image shows roses sticking out of their asses. Proposterous, or superb description of the present time? Main exclamation is ‘mama idem u rat’- mother (Russia) I am going to war.

It is an antiwar and antiputin song plus a critique of todays society and crazyness we live in. They purposefully chose simpler lyrics that people who speak russian can understand (because our language is similar) and there are a lot of metaphors behind it that Russia, Ukraine and Belarus will understand (like tractor that Lukaščenko gave to Putin on his birthday, mama is mother Russia, Putin is a short psycho who out of whim started a war- there are also Lenin, Stalin and Charlie Chaplin dictator...)They are also mocking eurovision- the history is repeating itself and the world is focused on things like singing competition. With all the things happening with the war + catastrophes in Turkey and Syria I believe they should have cancelled eurovision and instead donate the money to the needy. Let 3 is skeptical about todays society and are singing about the armagedon that will come because of our apathy. The outfits representing dictators and they will probably come dressed as horsmen of apocalypse which they have showed here... plus they probably wanted to send a subliminal message for lgbtq+ rights. I hear that some are calling the song out for its political messages. As it seems to me, everyone sees something different in a song, passes it through their filters of understanding and tries to find some hidden meaning within their experiences and knowledge. This only confirms the artistic value that Let 3 has shown again and again in its original, recognizable and consistent way. The fact is that they did not say anything specifically in the song or called someone/something names, condemned, etc., and this is a clear proof that the song is not political. Not a single word in the song has a political overtone, but it managed to tickle people's imagination and their need to understand the message, which in my opinion is already a sufficient indicator of artistic success. But with works of art, the meaning always remains a secret because the goal of art is for the person who consumes it to experience it in his own and only his own way. So realistically, we cannot condemn a song for its political content because it is only the opinion and interpretation of some individuals, and not a real fact.

And Let 3 aren't comedians, they're one of the most popular Croatian bands, very famous, and they LOVE doing controversial stuff (seriously, read their Wiki article, should be fun).
