    GE no longer sells the transformer bracket assembly, but you can buy the individual parts and re-use the bracket. If the refrigerator light is out, 90% of the time it is going to be the transformer inside the bracket. That is part WR62X26946. You might possibly need the rectifier control board if the large capacitor is bulging, and that board is WR23X10622. GE did away with the fuse along the way, so you may need the connector off of your old transformer and you might have to do some splicing to get the O/P from the transformer plugged into the PCB on the rectifier board. Interestingly enough, the replacement transformer bracket with all three pieces that is shown everywhere as discontinued shows a 24VAC output. My original and the one WR62X26946 are both 27VAC. Thank you for posting this video. After watching it, it took me about 30 minutes to do the swap and that included splicing and soldering the old connector to the new transformer. I did not disconnect any water lines, just moved things out of the way and wrestled that bracket out and back in. This was a $50 repair and the lights work again, so THANK YOU!

    My light was out for a couple years. So happy you made this video! I would have never fixed it without it.

    Good video 👍
    I didn't realize that so many details were involved...
    Also you saved me the cost of replacing the LED light..
    Thank You!! Nick

    I have similar issue with my GE GNE29GSKSS. Other videos are stating control board. Either way, transformer and controller are about the same price. Man, all this for a refrigerator light. Should have gotten a traditional bulb light fridge instead.

    Where did you find this part? I cannot find it anywhere. Excellent video by the way.

    Hi, thanks for the video, do you think LG refrigerators have the same transformer? My model is a LG LFXS28566S, 2018 model. Ill bet LG, Samsung, and GE are all using the same transformer.

    thanks for the how to video. If my LEDs are dim, is it most likely the transformer?

    • @DIYRepairsNow
      @DIYRepairsNow  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but also it can be the led light as well

      Our GE cafe frig has 7 LEDs, and they are all dim/flickering.
      1. So you think it's the transformer. I can pull out my DVM and test it like this video. Thanks!
      2. Where do I find a repair manual or wiring diagram, showing locations of components, connectors, etc?

    Thanks Bro, I bought a brand new GE side by side and the freezer led light has never worked. They changed the LED and the Switch and the problem persists. I will call them today and ask them to replace the Freezer light transformer.

    Freezer light is 120VAC, or is that 24VDC too, fed from the main board?

    • @DIYRepairsNow
      @DIYRepairsNow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seeker85420 It's a transformer from 120 VAC to24 V VDC

    Hey how much doing this myself vs doing it with a GE technician? My model is not a profile but a 2018 side by side refrigerator

      NATA OLIPH The benefit to do it with that’s ignition is that he’s gonna tell you exactly what it is but he’s going to charge you between $200 and $250 for labor plus deport if you do it yourself and it’s the part that you’re replacing you’ll save a couple hundred dollars

    LIGHT works when I plug the fridge on but not after I shut the doors. The door alarm also will not shut up unless I disable it. I am thinking something might be wrong with the switches.

    My LED light is also not working and I cannot detect voltage coming out of the wires in the fridge. Before I go down the road of replacing the transformer, could there be a fuse involved?

    • @DIYRepairsNow
      @DIYRepairsNow  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes in some models it will bring a fuse but it will be right on the transformer which is the part that I'm replacing
