The American Bittern Buttertubs Marsh, Nanaimo B.C.

The American Bittern is a rare visitor to Buttertubs marsh and creates excitement among birders when one is spotted. They are often still and elusive, but this one was actively hunting which provided some good views.

I have been checking the last few days and haven't seen the bittern again-I was very lucky this day that it was so active. Lately, this bird is not being very cooperative.
