    Herbert you are going to have a video for all scales. I have a much simpler process for the 15mm. Your effort is nicer than my best 1/35th Panther.
    The 15mm look superb. ;)

    I think you have swayed me and I will try the black-grey for my track's base coat! This seems to work very well at 15mm. Good job!

    What you can so easily do in 1/100 scale takes me forever to do in 1/48 scale - these are fantastic, in my opinion...

    You are a brilliant painter! I will say for myself lately I have been replacing number 2 pencil with MIG gunmetal pigment, just dipping it on my finger and wiping it on. But these are crazy good and your process is easy to follow.

    If you are having trouble with the tools and cables, paint them before you apply your shading wash. The wash will cover up any minor mistakes and true up the lines of the cables. You could even gloss coat and pin-wash with oil paint/spirits if you don't want the wash to change the color of your base coat.

    that rust in the tracks look like blood, pretty badass if you ask me (not historical (i hope))

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might be historical! I am sure there's plenty of occasions of someone getting squished under a tiger. Not a pleasant mental image though.

    • @zhufortheimpaler4041
      @zhufortheimpaler4041 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      historical would be rust pigment over the whole track, then a light wash with black/brown and a light drybrush of gunmetal.
      german steel track and hulls were basecoated with a rusty orange/brown anti rust paint, before the standart grey or dunkelgelb was applied to the hull. the final camo was applied by the respective units in the field.
      the tracks would loose the anti rust coating, as they are moving parts and have ground contact after some use.
      the exhausts itself would be too in the anti rust coat, the exhaust shielding is in camo

    I like your work might. I have a different approach when painting tracks. First I paint a base using vallejos chocolate brown. Then I make a paint using mig pigments (not sure what type as the label have fallen off) Its beige sand in color. I mix the pigment in vallejo satin varnish to make a paint an gently apply to the tracks. I also use the same mixture to make dirt on the roadwheels and the sides. The look is really good, looks like the real deal.

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Morten Harrysson Interesting. I am planning to experiment more with dirt and mud for the tracks, though I do like to keep them fairly clean looking. Got some MIG track weathering stuff coming which might be interesting to use.

  • @madddog6790
    @madddog6790 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    What size needle/nozzle are you using for painting the camo? I have an Iwata Eclipse--it came with a .30 I believe. I thinks it's a little too big for doing what you're doing for 15mm or 1/72nd scale. I'm thinking of buying another needle/nozzle for this. Btw, you have mad skilzz yo :)

    Hey Herbert, been a long time since I left a comment but those Tigers are sexy as fuck. Great job. Here is actually my first model I painted. I paint my german tanks as capture by the french with negative historical accuracy!
    www.dropbox.com/s/m8suozhay2tp7rr/2015-08-03%2022.21.55.jpg?dl=0
    Don't worry though. If I get any russian tanks they will be capture german tanks lol.
    I am currently working on a 1/35 Pz IV H that should be done in the next week or two. Soon I'll purchase my airbrush as well and a 1/350 scale Kongo. I total went crazy with the hobby I have like 40 unstarted kits laying around including a 1/48 Scale Superfortess and a 1/450 scale Yamato lol.

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      RememberPluto Hey! Thanks! Cool tank, I really like the idea of a tiger captured by the french!
      Nothing wrong with going crazy with the hobby! That many kits laying around just means you have plenty of options when you want to build something!
      Have fun!

    What were the needle sizes you used.?

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't remember if the larger brush had a 0.5mm needle or something else, but I think that's right.
      The Iwata I did the camo with has a 0.3mm needle.

    • @HerbertErpaderp
      @HerbertErpaderp  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd suggest doing a lot of light coats... Not quite sure how you'd easily get a soft edge on the camo. Maybe drybrushing or blending.
      I'm sure it's able to be done, it'll just take a bit more time.

    The only thing that bugs me about your videos...is the time in between comments, it sounds like you have an endless set of lungs and need to take a breath somewhere..you need more pauses so viewers can better digest the information i find myself having to constantly replay parts because it's like one huge run on sentence of info overload.
