It needs a retractable ceramic blade that has holes poked through it for the plasma to leak out of. This is so in a light saber duel they dont just go through each other. The ceramics would need to be the same as they use on rocket ships. Its doable but expensive. Although if you ask me this is almost a light saber, but to answer the question "is this not a loght saber?" the answer is no

In my experience you can make a flame that looks identical albeit smaller by running just a little rich on the feul mixture. An electrical arc also wouldn't pass a perfectly conductive plate like that either.
You guys notice how the camera stays pretty close, and doesn’t pan back for a wide shot? Cause, the beam doesn’t stop at the end, it just continues, unlike the lightsabers in the Star Wars movies.

Adding colors is pretty easy, just add some chemicals to the fuel/flame. Sodium chloride = orange Sodium carbonate = yellow Potassium chloride = purple Magnesium sulfate = white
That is stupidly dangerous. Also it's still not it. You have to have cords leading up to the base of the "sword". And also you say it cuts through a lot of stuff but it doesn't. It melts stuff. That's why you had to hold that piece of metal so much in front of the beam before it made that hole. If you would have tried to do a sword strike, like normal people would use a sword, it would just very slightly heat up the piece of metal, nothing more. And most importantly. It doesn't do the very iconic sound. How could you ever forget about this part? It's the most important one.

Melting does not mean instantly melting. I’ve worked with torches hotter than that, and you have to heat up the metal for a sec before it actually melts.
Well, in his words, "this is 4000 f and will cut through many things" I'd just like to see proof of what he claims.. i.e. one other thing that has at least a bit of a higher melting point than lead.
@@boyzinthewood1 4000°F is not as much as you might think it is for a torch. That’s pretty much the equivalent of a weak welding torch, and I’d say that’s believable by the looks of it.
The trick is they dont show you how the length isnt controlled at all and it just keeps going until its radiated enough to no longer be visible. Its more of an oversized welding torch than a light saber

Cut through something more heat resistant than lead. Lead melts at 327.5 C
There using lead because with other stuff it would only mildly affect it.

Melting does not mean instantly melting. I’ve worked with torches hotter than that, and you have to heat up the metal for a sec before it actually melts.
Well, in his words, "this is 4000 f and will cut through many things" I'd just like to see proof of what he claims.. i.e. one other thing that has at least a bit of a higher melting point than lead.
@@boyzinthewood1 4000°F is not as much as you might think it is for a torch. That’s pretty much the equivalent of a weak welding torch, and I’d say that’s believable by the looks of it.
The trick is they dont show you how the length isnt controlled at all and it just keeps going until its radiated enough to no longer be visible. Its more of an oversized welding torch than a light saber

You see, a.m. is an abbreviation for "ante meridiam" which means before midday. When is 8 hours before midday? 12 - 8 = 4. Therefore, 8 a.m. is really 4 in the morning. I think it would be more like a lightsaber if they added a retractable blade of metal or sm in the middle
It's a beam not a sabre at all, as you can see it's plasma, it doesn't impact with the object as in the fictional thing of star wars
I remember 18 years ago when I thought a jedi camp had actual lightsabers and wasn't just a gimmick to get kids into martial arts. This is still just a new age blowtorch, but we're getting sooo close and I love that design!!!
We’re not getting close at all. Lightsabers are photons emitted from a crystal that responds to “the force”. This is, as you said, a blowtorch that he has made to look like a lightsaber.

@@50shanks the reason he says it is cool is because it doesnt have a concentrated field of 10000 c* a 4000 f* the mandelorian metal is melted at ca. 7000 celciusdegrees and what they did was make a "cool" version it has like less heat to energy ratio than a canon lightsaber. what they created would be at about 2.1 tenth as a real lightsaber. if they would want to get close they need to make it at 18.000 f which is the standard lightsaber
