Hi Bull. Greatr harveast. My harvest this morning was small compared to yours, four cucubmbers, a zucchini, two bell peppeprs, a lipstick pepper, four Hungarian Yellow Wax peppers, and I harvested out my golden beets. The Japanese beetles are bad! Tonight was a scheduled pest control night. They got thouroughly soaked with Spinosad. I am hoping I don't see any live beetles tomorrow morning. There isn't any rain in the forecast for a while, so most of the garden won't get sprayed with Immunox tomorrow, just the cucumbers, melons, and summer squash. Watering will be light with just needing to water the grow bags. I managed to plant the peach trees Thursday and Friday. I don't know what was harder, the clay, or the quarts rock I had to break apart with a pickaxe. I made the holes thirty inches in diameter and two feet deep to give the roots space to root into. Before backfilling the holes, I mixed equal portions of sand and compost with the clay soil. It has good upstate New York soil mixed in too-and worms. The crabapple tree is struggling to survive. It is sprouting leaf growth, but is far from being in a survivable condition. It has only three three-inch root fragments, and no anchor roots. It isn't enough to nurish the leaves. All I can do is keep the soil moist with daily watering, and hope it sprouts new roots. The next six weeks will be critical for its survival.

I mostly use composted chicken manure from my chickens, but I use also use 10-10-10, the brand doesn’t matter it’s all the same
