I love it when you show us that everything isn’t always peaches and cream but you don’t give up on it. Having a few different varieties and addressing the problems as they occur keeps the family fed. 😊 always a pleasure. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Bull, Cedar Gal Rust is bad in my area, other diseases too. From March through May, I have to spray with Immunox, or Copper. Prevention is easier than curing. Prior to the rain, I made a discovery that could have cost me half my orchard. I was using Amazon purchased moss mats as a weed barrier, and to hold water in the soil longer between watering. After watering one day during the first week of July. I made a determination that my Yellow Gold plum tree wasn’t growing due to a lack of nutrients. I was sort of right, but not completely. I pulled up the moss mat two minutes after watering to spread fertilizer on the ground along the weep line. I was shocked to see that the ground was completely dry. Okay, this pissed me off. The mats that were supposed to allow water to pass through, instead acted as a barrier preventing the water from reaching the roots. I pulled every one up, and burned them. I fertilized every tree that I thought was deficient on growth, and watered it in. Two days later, God took over watering my plants. The tree that hadn’t grown a bit since planting, is putting out new branch growth and leaves. Other trees are putting out new growth too. I am waiting on the Stella and North Star cherry trees to put out new growth. I expect they will any day. Now for the trees that got grass clippings and leaves for mulch. The Prairie Fire crabapple tree is almost out of the danger zone, one more week. With all the rain we’ve been getting, and cloudy skies on the few days it hasn’t rained, I am confident it is well onto the way to recovery. By now, it is putting out roots, from a nearly bare branch. The peach trees have only been in the ground a short time, but have put out an amazing amount of growth. The Honeycrisp and Fuji apple tree are doing as well as expected. With all of the rain, the Fuji apple tree is putting out new growth. It has already grown to an unmanageable height, and will need to be pruned down to 8 feet after it has gone dormant.
Yes Mr. Bull just pruned my Trees for shape and height. Then I prune it when dormant for fruit production. Keeping mine open for stone fruit . Leader for my apple. I have been spraying since Spring trees look good. Also use organic product help with diseases and pest. So far been doing good. My family not that big do not need all that fruit with all other fruits I have. Grapes( x3 concord/green), figs, blackberries, and elderberries. Cover elderberry little bags so far the sqirrels have left them or they get the water gun. Also I place netting over them ( dwarf). Take care and keep the faith. Its life rain/sunshine.
Hey hard worker 🤣 I know you’re going to take care of the problem. I’m learning from you. I just planted a peach tree and nectarine tree. Thanks for sharing ❤
Happened to me this year lost my nectarines to insects but next year I'll be prepared! Only good news my tree is also happy and healthy just lost the fruit 💪

I like fruit trees
That's to bad about your fruit. The tree is beautiful.
That hurts me a little , pouring out them nectarines 😂😂
Was it fungicide or rust spots from too much rain, then crazy heat on the same hour, causing a sugar spike?
Rust spots on all the fruit, leaves were not affected
Can you air layer the branches to create more tree’s, instead of just cutting and disposing them?
Most definitely, I will air layer a few and propagate some aswell
@@TheBullsGarden Awesome! I like the idea of saving as many limbs as possible 🙌🏽
