Beautiful sounding bike and great riding technique!
    Awesome videography too.
Thanks for taking the time to put the series together.

Glad you enjoyed it! I do try to improve with everything. I will be doing the first ride on my latest project soon, CB823 Cafe Racer, hope you enjoy that one too. :)

What a great video! An amazing motorcycle and as usual, a honest opinion and presentation. I do appreciate the trouble that you’ve obviously gone to making your fine, informative and helpful content. The drone shots were fab too.

Thank you very much! We are continually trying to improve our videos, but sometimes the excitement of working on the project gets in the way. Hopefully the Cafe project is going up a gear over the next couple of months, and we plan some interesting stuff with that. Take care.

Nice job, sir! I enjoyed watching you get this bike sorted out. It gives me a bit of encouragement to keep my 350 project going.

You've done a great job on this bike. Well done. I have enjoyed watching you work on it. Cheers 👍

Thanks Alan, really glad you've enjoyed it. There's plenty to do with the old girl yet though, but I'm over the moon that she's a reasonable rider now considering where it started from.

Great to see the old Honda going so well. Completely agree about the stretch to the bite point, hard to be smooth with it set up like that. You should be very proud of your work. Look forward to seeing where you go with it.

Thanks Graham! Indeed, there's lots of little issues like that which I'd like to improve. I'm still deliberating on which way to take it now, but I'm sure all will be revealed. :)

She really sounds great!! Looks good too!! A nice fun bike. I love the older 750's. Good luck with it! As far as rain, it's just part of the "fun" haha! We get our share here in Florida. Take care.

Cheers mate! She's turned out to be a pretty decent old bike, no longer expecting to be pushing it home which is always a plus. There's still plenty to do to improve it though, and as mentioned in the video, I'm pretty tempted to do something more interesting with this bike, with it being a bit cobbled together with a mix of parts, and having no provenance to speak of. We'll see :)

Great stuff, how about a twin disc conversion if your going to cafe racer it, you’ll be amazed how much better the braking is and it’s cheap to do cos your using the standard Honda parts.

Great idea Mark, I'll look into that. I'm into the period-correct look if I go ahead with customising it, so that could be ideal.

That bike sounds nice. Finding neutral on my 75 CB750 is easier than with my modern 2017 Motor Guzzi (and way easier than my 64 Triumph TR6, that bike shifts good but doesn't like going imto neutral). Honda definitely did a nice job on the gear box. You're right about the throttle, my 750 has a really stiff throttle. I've been told stretching out the spring on the carbs can help a little.

Thanks Dave, she seems to run pretty well all things considered. Haha Honda always did do a good gearbox, I had a modern Triumph Sprint recently and was surprised how clunky it was compared. Good tip on the throttle, I may have a look at the spring and see if it helps.

Love your video's . I am restoring a K1 up at the moment so your vid's are very useful. It has got an original MH 300 exhaust on it but someone has filled in holes with resin rather like a kid with a jam sandwich. Do you know anyone who repairs these. Wont you lose money on the bike if you alter it? Personally I love them just the way they are. Lovely bikes are the K series

    • @SPANNERRASH
      @SPANNERRASH  3 ปีที่แล้ว

Cheers Cody, the resin repair on your exhaust sounds less than ideal haha! I can't say I have any experience fixing that kind of thing, but for those exhausts it would be well worth doing.
I do think they are fantastic bikes the way Honda intended, I did a candy blue one recently which came out nice in standard trim. But the truth is that this gold bike is pretty much a mish-mash of parts and has absolutely no provenance, so if there ever was an opportunity to do something a bit more interesting with one, this is it.
I'm sure I wouldn't make money doing it, but if I did a good job and it was tasteful, I probably wouldn't lose money either, and I might enjoy it.
