Manipur Ministers inspecting flood-hit areas
The situation continues to be grim in the region which has been battered by floods and landslides. After the violence, now Manipur is facing flood fury. Ministers and MLAs joined hand with local residents to prevent flood water from entering low lying areas as Imphal and Iril rivers flowed above danger mark.
Upon arrival from Delhi, Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai, accompanied by officials from the Water Resources Department, surveyed the areas affected by flash floods in Kangla, Khuman Lampak, Moirangkhom, and other places.
Simultaneously, Municipal Administration Housing Development Minister Yumnam Khemchand rushed to the banks of the Imphal River with his team and local residents to stop the overflow.
