As a Rush fan for over 35 years, I was preparing to hate the vocals like I normally do on a Rush cover, BUT this guy nailed it. Great cover of an often overlooked song. Well done to you all and thank you!
As a hardcore fan for the last 4 decades I can say this is indeed a real tribute to the legacy of very legendary prog-rock trio. This is among my favorite 80's Rush era music. Outstanding work to detail and total quality control. Well done !!!
RUSH played this tune live in Indianapolis in 1984 but by the time they recorded their live show in Toronto, it had been replaced by Kid Gloves. I wonder why Kid Gloves didn't make the cut?
Great job guys. The levels of Neil's life that many of us will never KNOW (child's death then spouse) is inconceivable. We will never know the depth of his scars. To be at the TOP of his prof career and carry that inside without EVER givin up......May he RIP.
48 year Rush fanatic. Got my hands on the self-titled debut a month after its US release in March 1974. Highly skeptical of covers. Until now have never seen one I cared for. FANTASTIC job gentlemen! I believe you did The Professor proud.
Excellent. Touched me. I liked the guitar riff intro you added, it’s great and adds more feeling to the song. I hardly like any tribute, but this is amazing great. Thanks for working on it.
Thank you for putting together what I am still feeling about the passing of Neil. As I write this, I have tears in my eyes. How can I miss someone whom I never even met? That is just how much this band, Alex, Geddy, and Neil have meant to me for the past 43 years. "I feel the way you would. This just can't be understood"...
I was in a Rush cover band in the 80’s (with the name AfterImage funnily enough) and this was one of the songs we so enjoyed playing. Underrated yet so poignant here. Great vocals-nailed it. You all did. Awesome! 🇨🇦
Great cover. Spot on. All three men were masters of their instruments. As I guitarist, I really admire Alexs guitar playing. I noticed there were two guitars covering his parts. He was a genius at playing rhythm and lead at the same time. All three were. That what made them truly unique.
My buddy sent me this today. I started listening to this on my AirPods when I was at the gym thinking oh no, another third-rate Rush song (they are one of my favorite bands, but there's a lot of songs that I don't listen to.) I assumed this was Rush with Geddy... Then after a few minutes of lifting I looked at the screen and I was like OMG this ISN'T Rush! So absolutely phenomenal job, I am truly blown away!
Beauutiful screenplay and cuts. With this cover you really honor him. Can't help, still having tears when listening to Afterimage and Marathon. He remains a grandmaster legend for what he has given to us and for who follows his spirit. His lyrics and craftmanship have set a standard to become legend for who seeks for the best rolemodel to follow.
Well done! Great tribute to a rare human being. Was a little wary when I saw the size of the drum kit, but that was happily unfounded. "It's not the size, it's what you do with it", can be taken many ways🤣but in this case, very true. Reminded me of(and I don't know why, because Neil and Ian are two totally different drummers) Ian Paice's drumsolo at the "California Jam", where he made that tiny little kit absolutely sing. Great work all round, guys, well done.
Awesome job, I've heard other covers of this song but they all lack the feel, the groove, they aren't in the pocket... You guys nailed it, great feel and mix... RIP Neil...
As a long time Rush fan and a drummer, I appreciate what you guys did with this. Very well done! I have gotten a lot of inspiration from watching Neil play and listening to the lyrics he penned. I think he would appreciate this video, too. Again, we’ll done. And thanks for doing such a great tribute to someone who’s impacted not only many a drummer, but also people who just live their music.
@@jeffcharlton9660 So the story is this video was taxing my macbook really badly with some of the split screen plugins. I had it in there and must have accidentally deleted it. I just did not notice until it was too late. I think the remedy is to do a freewill play through or spirit of the radio. Pay homage to that record!
Amazing cover! Great job, gentlemen! Sorry that so many Rush fans disregard their '80s stuff. In my opinion, Permanent Waves through Hold Your Fire were their best albums musically, although many others were SO great as well. Sure, Geddy introduced a lot of synthesizer, but there was still PLENTY of cool guitar work. Signals and Grace Under Pressure will always be my two favorite albums of theirs. RIP Neil...you are so missed. You were the best of the best....
Impressed you managed to get so close to the music, never mind the percussion. Almost thought you were playing along to a prerecorded track at first, good job! Vocals aren't bad, either.
This is beyond fantastic. Don't have the words. Good God. Totally unique yet exactly what every Rush fan expects (and we're assholes when it comes to covers). If we ever meet, first beer is on me. Thank you.
Excellent Job. This is my life long hero. Second to JC, the foundation that Neil built with Rush will always be a beacon of hope and inspiration to me. To all of us. Thank you for the amazing comments!!!
correct same for me
Yep, I went into it with the same attitude but the fella nailed it. A great tribute to a great man and musician!
Bravo!
I think as Rush fans it’s always we worry about the most but here, great vocal and great musicianship in the whole band.
Guys we really appreciate the feedback. We are so stoked at the reaction to the video! We hope we payed tribute to Neil in a positive way! Thank you!

Mucho respect and really great vocals. Very underrated song btw.
Guitar work is excellent! Steve!
@@daveyt4802 Thanx so much!!
Just watched another AI song tribute from 6 months earlier. About 1/2 as good as this cover.
This is so mint! All things Rush all the time ! Thank you for your amazing art guys …bravo!
Thank you for this great cover. Perfect!
Your vocals are great! The guitars spot on. the drumming pretty great I'd say! This is a really awesome video lads! Thanks for sharing your talent!
Simply Awesome, Quintessential Rush Magic! You guys nailed this!

Awesome cover! Great to see the drummer nail the runs on such a small set😂 guitars were spot on, vocals very nicely sung! Good one
I could hug each of you for this! I can’t find the words to express how poignant this is.
Absolutely sincere and outstanding! Wow! Brought me to happy tears. Rush has been the soundtrack for most of my life. Thanks!

It's so hard to find the right vocalist to sing Rush. You nailed it. Superb work all around.
It sounds really auto tuned to me.
Very well done!! The vocals make or break a cover. This vocally paves it’s own way beautifully while still staying true to the genius in the original.
