It has an easier way: activate the weapon art of the pistol, which for those who do not know decreases in 80% the time of reloading a skill, then just use it until you open level 2 and so on.

If anyone wants a quicker and more efficient - albeit more boring - method, go out into a dungeon or field and build your medals up to get your handgun art charged. Find an area with no enemies and active it. Once you activate it, face the wall and spam the skill you're levelling. Only the activation of the skill matters, not going much damage or how many enemies it hits. This doesn't really work for Sword Barrier - at least not as well - since the effect has to wear off before the cooldown starts
Not sure if someone said it, but the pistol weapon art assists with this to an incredibly high magnitude. It allows you to use your abilities more often due to the extreme reduction in cooldown for all skills.

Is there another way to get the SAO,and ALO outfits besides paying damn eighty dollars for the deluxe edition¿ I already have it, so I really don't want to waste that much just for two outfits. I don't think it has the SAO outfits, but the ALO outfits.
You can also go to an area w/out enemies and use ur skills to rank them up.
this was great thanks and also when I was getting the game I was told by some friends the sword is the worst weapon in the game yet it can deflect bullets and has a lot of good skills AND you can pair it with a gun for range now tell me its bad
If your stats are setup right, the sword is one of the best weapons in the game (depending on the sword) I think the Kogimitzu type z (something like that) is the best @ 1800+ power
dude what's the different proficiency between easy mode and extreme mode

I've played through the game several times, tried spamming skills against enemys, used gadgets whenever available, still no improvement in any of the proficiencies. Anyone can help? Do I have to grab a special item or something first? Because 100h playtime and absolutely no proficiency is bs in my opinion.

Hidden Genbu. I've ranked up all my sword skills, besides sword block, by farming the crap out of him. His legs are decent targets to use sword skills, but I suggest using them when his legs are directly in front of you if your aim sucks in that split second it takes to implement the skill. Use starsplash when he emits the poison fog, so bring either Asuna or a support Arfa sys that will get rid of that poison debuff. And for your troubles you'll get 8-14 emeralds and a Deathwind sniper rifle when you kill the mutated dinosaur thing. Is it a dinosaur?
To me, it's as if a T-rex and a scorpion fell into a pit together and Hidden Genbu and the other monster that gives you Tiamat, came out

Unclear really, Muramasa, Kotetsu, AND Kagemitsu use the same purple blade, so I guess that makes the red one masamune

So to increase proficiency of skills, does it have to hit an enemy?
Nong_Ing No just use them also pro tip use the handgun weapon art to decrease the time it takes to cooldown your skills spam the absolute hell out of your sword skills while that is active to increase proficiency fast

Savage Disser Craft. You get blueprint from bounty huntimg quests.
The (ingame)PVP Bounty quests. Specifically the level 80~90 "recommended" ones that take place in the industrial zone warp point in the desert map.
