kanata smelly but NOT bc of fish. his main puka puka location is the fountain after all, and i doubt theres fish in there. he DOES however, smell very strongly of mildew. he does not properly dry his clothes ever

I bet he would ALWAYS wear perfume. I headcanon he has diffirent perfumes for diffirent occasions, diffirent moods he has, diffirent lives, diffirent daily stuff like he would have pre-shower perfume becuase he doesn't want his shower room to stink.
And also, he HATES sweat. Its quite literally canon that Hiyori *despises* it and barely sweats- this leads to him being confused as to why Jun would like to go do stuff that would make him all sweaty, like extreme practicing or.. idk, whatever a chronically online gamer like Jun does. So Hiyori refrains from doing such activities. He is also in the circle Pretty 5, which obviously by itself completly refutes against your allegation.
