@thestoryhub Thank you for the encouragement!💜💜💜 These are the artists that helped me through some of the most difficult times in my life, so watching them live, learning from them live, it would truly be such a momentous honour for me.✨💜
@thestoryhub I'm happy you continue to support them.😁✨💜 I managed to see snippets of their concerts through fancams and behind-the-scenes footage - a lot of it was still somehow enough to make me cry a few times.😂💜
Same it's unique for me Pretty unique sometimes i'm thinking that there's a feminine voice attached in his voice😂 I love he's voice too much I could sleep after hearing his voice💜
Dr. Marc, I just so appreciate and enjoy your passion and expertise!! I'd love to hear your thoughts on endurance for longer performances. I know BTS has talked about exercising regularly and taking care to stay healthy to build that up. What are some tips or mistakes in this area? Also, what are signs that a performer is overdoing it?
Good question! It depends on what kind of endurance we are talking about. Vocal endurance or cardio-type endurance. BTS has to train like that because they have to dance A LOT and sing without it showing in their voice. Essentially they have to work so they don't get winded so easily and work so that they can move a lot without it disturbing the vocal mechanism. If you are wanting to sing and dance at the same time then I think what they do to train is amazing. If we are just talking vocal health it is a bit different - sure cardio always helps but when we are talking about enduring for a longer performance it has more to do with pacing yourself vocally and physically, healthy and balanced vocal production, and being efficient with your voice and with your body. Tips : practice what you will actually have to perform in the order you will have to perform as many times as you can before a performance. Work with a voice teacher and as a singer make your priority be on creating the easiest most sustainable sound possible. Exercise - but watch out for heaving lifting - because that can train you to do things that are hard to undo when you are singing. Stretch. Warm-up. Don't sing at 100% loudness...ever. What are signs that a performer is overdoing it? If they start loosing their voice, it gets painful, feel fatigued, if they start getting white noise or rasp that isn't intended, if the pitch is suffering when they don't usually have pitch problems, when they can't sustain the suspended breathing and open oral-pharynx position. Watch out of sining on little no sleep, watch out for reflux, stay hydrated, and if you are tired and the voice is just feeling sluggish take it slow and warm up really well or give your voice a rest. My suggestion is to sing for smaller intervals more consistently over the day rather than bing sing for hours then as you get closer to a performance sing through your repertoire in order with the pacing of the performance at least a few times a week or more often if you can do it without fatiguing the voice day to day. There is so much more that could be said but maybe this at least gives you something of an answer?
I love your lessons! You teaching style is easy to understand and helps a lot! Thank you so much ❤️ P.S.: BTS' vocal colors are amazing! It's nice to see lessons while watching them too 😅
Well, I've got a very low, base voice when I speak, and I can sing at octaves that are even lower. However, I've been practicing my head voice and falsetto on my own for a few years now. So I can now reach quite a few soprano-like octaves. I've also been in the school choir for 6 years, from 6th grade to 12th. I'm nineteen now and in my first year of university, but I still practise on my own often. I just can't make it very loud unfortunately because the lofts I stay at are very small and very close to each other.😅 I'm a bit sad that I was never able to train with a voice teacher for my voice to develop individually though, only in a group setting, because when it comes to vocal projection, I still struggle to sustain a high note without having my voice disappear sometimes. As I said, I'm still working on it, and there has been some improvement. I just wish I was a music student.😅 Although I've been told by my parents that once I get the degree I'm currently studying, I'll be allowed to work on my musical skills and then go back to university to study music after auditioning.
Keep the fire alive and stay engaged wherever and whenever you can. If you ever want a lesson feel free to book a time. Best wishes with your university studies!
Another TH-cam vocal coach gave the advice that you should turn the high note into a sigh, in order to sustain it. I used to have that "voice disappearing" situation too.
I recently found your videos and have really been enjoying how you touch on people's positive examples. If I were to make a request it would be to use some of Adam Lambert's live performances. I think he is an amazing example of fantastic singing techniques. Maybe starting with his 'Who Wants to Live Forever' performance with Queen at Isle of Wight festival.
Thanks for this amazing series of BTS reactions, I've learn a lot. Now, as you told me that I can keep insisting :P I would ask for a video reaction of Ha Hyun Woo. He is from a korean rock band called Guckkasten, you can choose any song live or check one of the songs that I've suggested in past comments (Home, Lazenca save us, Just say it, etc) =)
I love that you are reacting to BTS, and you should do it some more. Or react to some other k-pop bands out there. They all have amazing vocals. But please work on the timing of your pauses. Dont stop in the middle of a nice vocal or high note :)
Just watched all three parts in one day. I decided to give it a try, in spite of what I said a week ago that you were over doing the BTS videos. There still things to be learned from these videos either way. That said, I look forward to your kd Lang video!
I enjoy your comments and insights, but you're killing me with all the pauses in the middle of a clip or killer high note. The Hold Me Tight pause hurt a LOT.
V, the one that did the lizard tongue, it happens to be one of his habits. So what does it mean when he does it even when he’s not singing? Does it have to do with how deep his voice is which causes tension?
You... need to gather ur thoughts quickly. You always pause in the middle of the next clip to talk about the previous one. It’s confusing and honestly a lil disrespectful.

Oh yes, I've heard about that as well.😮
Apparently the members occasionally sing while running on the treadmill or taking a jog.

Taehyung is my favorite his voice is hella deep but he could hit high note like wtf-
It is ridiculous not including Jin's triple high notes of "CrystalSnow" in videos.
Our singer Jimin always does great jobs 👍👍👍👍👍💕💕💕💕💕

In summary, BTS, especially Jimin, is just dramatic and like emoting with their whole bodies.
