RUSH HOUR!!! How does this one rank amongst the other ones?
#1. Although, I prefer Rush Hour 2.
I look forward to your reactions to the sequels!
It's definitely my favorite out of the 3. But every few months I watch all 3 they're hilarious.
1 and 2 are equally great imo
Exactly how as they were released.
Just like that.
Chris do one for the culture React to the last dragon That's a black hood classic
“This won’t work. I’m not 6’1”!”😂
"I was born in 90 this is not old" 2 seconds silence... leans in "you're old" LMAOOOOO CLASSIC its ok happens to us all brother.
Same 😊
but he's not old yet
I was today years old when I found out Chris Tucker said "You want some fives with that?" instead of "You want some fries with that?"
He does say fries, Chris is just wrong. It even says fries in the subtitles. 7:55
I swear im still hearing fives lol
@@AlivviegirlIt's fives; that mistake in the captions dates back to the original dvd release and seemingly imprinted itself on the minds of a generation.
@@Alivviegirl It's 100% FIVES, as "Fries" wouldn't make sense for the scene.
@@AlivviegirlWrong. It's fives, as in five dollar bills. He is talking about 100's, 50's, 20's, etc.
Then, he makes the joke about 5's, with the joke being based on the common drive thru fast food saying, "Do you want fries with that(sandwich, burger, whatever.)"
Rush hour 2 is amazing, its probably my favorite of the 3
i use watch rush hour 2 so many times and i love jackie chan back in the day. my younger brother and I would watch bloopers over and over "his name is Lee, god damnit!"
The second movie is always the best one in a trilogy
The second one was hysterical 💀😂
@@hirvale Cars☠️
I can't wait for them to see THAT blooper.
13:15 ‘you knew it was the british’ CHRIS PLEASE 😂😂
@therealneal3034 no he's too right 😭😂
“Follow the rich white man”
Yo
@@pleaseshutup7053bingo
I can't believe Suraj skipped this one, he could have pointed out that the trigger-happy bleach blonde is Miles from Lost. :D
Right?
And the one FBI agent is from Better Call Saul
It's an improvement.
Yeah, one thing i always loved about Jackie Chan movies is they show his bloopers and stunts at the end of each movie. One movie he actually broke his foot, had to get a cast, and decided to get this sock that looks like his sneakers so he could put it over the cast and keep on filming with the broken foot. Dude was insane when he was younger. I think it was either "Rumble in the Bronx" or "Operation: Condor ". Both were great movies.
"DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE WORDS THAT ARE COMIN' OUT OF MY MOUTH?!?" Classic.
16:35 she has passed away such great actress.
RIP Chris Penn, Elizabeth Pena, and Tom Wilkinson.
And Phillip Baker Hall too.
Also 'Judo' Gene Labell (taxi driver).
Legendary martial artist.
navi's flexing on us matching her makeup with the fire fit gyatdamn!
The “protect the ancient vases” scene is one of two I VIVIDLY remember from this movie, the punchline when it shatters made my stomach drop the first time I saw it as a kid, your reactions were perfect lol. I used to want to be an archaeologist so the idea of a centuries/millennia old piece of history exploding like that made me feel the character’s pain (even though I know it’s fake).
The second thing about this movie: I can’t hear anyone grunt without responding “WAR. Huh. YEAH” either out loud or in my head, and it’s been like 20 years since I first saw this movie?
This movie introduced me to Jackie Chan.
This movie trilogy never gets old on a rewatch. The master class of Chris Tucker & Jackie Chan; you could never ever had a more hilarious and yet effect pair up in a film.
Although this is Jackie Chan at 5% of his abilities. Hollywood insurance policies and director Brett Ratner didn't give JC as much freedom as in his Hong Kong movies like Who Am I (1998).
@@jp3813 True. I didn't mind that they didn't go all out because to me you don't want to overshadow your co-lead that your teaming up in your buddy film by doing all the crazy stuff
@@Indiana_Minotaur Well, in the Lethal Weapon franchise, Riggs didn't have to be held back just so Murtaugh could shine. Many argued that Chris was given too much leeway to do whatever he wanted in the RH sequels to the point that he didn't seem like a cop anymore. In a bts interview w/ Ratner for RH2, he said that he always held JC back b/c he thinks that Americans don't like long fight scenes. Yet The Matrix already proved him wrong at that point.
@@jp3813 To be fair I didn't watch Lethal Weapon; but I do know that there was equal screen presence in those films.
I don't blame Ratner for the decision, because the audience at the time was different, and the atmosphere and climate in films were different. I would've also made the same mistake in holding Jackie back.
As for the Matrix. I would say the reason why it was proven a lot of people wrong with long fight scenes is specifically because it was fast, and it was personal; and a lot of the films at the time weren't taking the "serious" route as serious because they just want to make film, get box office numbers and move onto sequel or another project.
@@Indiana_Minotaur Screen presence, yes. But Riggs gets the majority of the action. Both JC & Chris were given their fair share of fish out of water material. Ratner just favored Chris' specialty (stand up comedy) over JC's (action).
The subtitles working faster than the speech
Unfortunately common in streaming services.
As a Chinese person, the intention of the movie was to call out the unnecessary cultural differences people get hung up on when they could be best buds if they just focused on similarities instead.
Should definitely consider “Shanghai Noon” with Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson
Speaking of Jackie Chan's music career, he was also the Singing Voice of Shang for the Cantonese and Mandarin dubs of Mulan!
Gotta love Juntaos Friday reference to Chris Tucker. "Put the gun down, fight like a man"
You can't have bloopers anymore since studios now have to toss in a mid-credits scene to advertise the coming sequel slash cinematic universe.
Navi you look so cute! 🥰 Definitely recreating this look, thanks for the inspiration ❤
8:55 9:14 An interesting demonstration of what modern movies have done to people's expectations. It's an alien concept when the movie expects you to take it seriously without deflating every single scene with a quip or joke, even in a comedy.
The old Taxi driver earlier in the movie was played by "Judo" Gene Lebel. He was a pro wrestler, stuntman, actor, and Judoka. He was also a mentor to Ronda Rousey.
He was also on the Green Hornet with Bruce Lee. He gave Bruce tips about grappling.
Dudes a legend made Steven Segal crap his pants
Toughest man alive.
3:13 _Do you understand the words that are coming out of my mouth?!_ 🤣🤣🤣
Nice of you to react to this just after Tom Wilkinson passed away. He played Juntao.
RIP
01:37 after moving to SoCal for a few years, this short dialogue is even funnier
This franchise is GOATED. Love the chemistry between Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. They just don’t make em like this anymore. Can’t wait for the reaction to the sequel 🤘🏽
You guys should check out the two movies Jackie did with Owen Wilson after you finish this franchise: Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights. Just as funny as the Rush Hour movies!
Rather than Rush Hour 4, I'd like to see another installment in The 'Shanghai' series.
Shanghai Noon and Knight are my favorite movies too! I hope they react to it!
Chris said I don't know I've never made a BOMB lol one of the funniest part of this reaction
7:58 Chris is the only person I've ever seen find this joke as funny as I did lol
*Still have this on video, awesome.*
It's hilarious that my parents were totally okay with me watching this when I was little.
12:02 that’s my favorite moment in the movie. Quote it all the time. That actor nailed it.
I’M NO PUNK BIT***!
Chinese Eminem is playing Zhao in the Netflix live-action Avatar series.
Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker are such a good duo together ugh love this film & the 2nd one
Loving The Normies channel! One of my favorite commentary channels and my favorite group commentary channel! Keep up the good work!
8:44
“Upper body strength kick in when u scared as shit”
Idk why I was laughing too hard at this
Navi, that Harley Quinn-esque fit is dope !
In 1998 I was 14 years and freshman in highschool when this movie came out.
5:44 Uncensored
5:51 Censored
😂💀 I can’t
I swear, Chris didn’t blink not even once in all action scenes.
Amazing
😂
25:18 it’s funny hearing Jackie say that when you hear Chris Tuckers story with him in interviews.
Those were the days
Gods they were glorious
Such fond memories of my first call to come to school because my daughter got us both in trouble.
She sang "War, what is it good for" as she tried a kick at a classmates head.
When asked what she was doing, she snitched. With
Without a doubt, I was watching Rush Hour with my daddy, the 6 year old said (now 31).
You gotta do Rush Hour 2. My favorite comedy of all time
0:58 I never realized just how right he was, I mean look how they treated him & then he has to apologize but you know what? He did it for Soo-Yung so he earned himself a great partner/brother from another mother & a vacation after 5 years but you already know that.
2:14 Hey, I never knew R2D2 was in Fire Force!
4:10 Pretty childish but Lee pretended to be lost in translation so Carter did deserve that.😂
8:17, 9:33, 12:46, 19:14, 22:40 So salty & petty & they're even.
14:20 When you watch this at a young age, you become so angry for him & start cheering him on.
So, as far as I remember, the "what's up" scene was something Jackie Chan was completely unaware the n-word was offensive and when he learnt the context of it, he was deeply apologetic about it.
Up NEXT : *Money Talk*
Yes
Streets need Rush Hour 2
Can’t wait for you to react to the rest of the trilogy! 😂
Classic. Diner scene in the beginning can’t believe it wasn’t showed. Can’t wait for rush hour 2
Did you watch the intro?
Navi... You looking amazing as always ❤❤
I worry for people who have never seen all 3 Rush Hour movies :p
Also to answer the car at the airport question - to be fair, Lee probably was afforded diplomatic status and it's probably a private jet terminal; it's not actually all that implausible that his car could have been designated okay to allow on to the apron, I wouldn't say it was impossible, LAX has a private jet terminal (actually I think it has a few) away from the plebs where that could actually happen, even if not now possibly back then.
"The colors of the wires"
True, it's a common trope of films that bombs have some sort color code that makes them easy to defuse; but this is (partially) in place for two reasons: one, so audiences back in the day got the concept of defusing a bomb more easily (it has to be just one wire) and it was (partially) based on a practices you should use in any electric circuit (use wires with different colors to visually know what part of the circuit you are working on that is, later on).
A bomb expert in reality is trying to understand how the circuit of the bomb works; if it can cut the power to the circuit or cut the path that sends electricity to the explosives (to make them explode), the bomb is deactivated. But to do that, one has to understand which wire is doing what (and that's why crime would, very likely, never use color coded wires).
For any other circuit, yes: there is a color code so any electrician understands at first glance how any circuit is wired.
Nice reaction, see you in the next one.
Jackie chan saying the n-word is my favorite thing ever, he def invited to the cookout
10:46 Iirc Jackie also said that he didn't know abt the n word stuff, so he asked abt it and when explained he was disappointed and said that he won't make any other movies with them if he has to say any type of racial slurs again.
The pure irony of them saying a movie like this could be made again, while at the same time going unnecessarily deep into how they used race jokes, is astounding 💀. It is a fact that a movie like this one cannot be made again.
I'm pretty sure the whole point of those jokes is just to show how different cultures know so little of one another, and how funny it is when they try to learn a new culture. That's it.
Yeah a movie like this couldn't ne made again because so many people would get offended when the jokes wasn't ment to offend it was ment to be funny. Yeah some of it maybe could be dailed back but I'd still love to see some jokes like that in movies now adays .
Jackie Chan did the Stunts himself it is him doing it
My all-time favorite action movie. Have several VHS and DVD releases of the first one.🤣
For the longest time, I thought the line was "want any 5s with that?" as a play on fries.
I love this lol y’all should do more 90s movies like Major Payne!!
The peak of Chris Tuckers career Rush Hour is forever a classic i literally know every line lmao
We have gotten some good martial art actors, but we still haven't gotten anyone who could replace or emulate Jackie Chan style or energy.
One of the best parts of the Rush Hour films are outtakes just seeing Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker just goofing around are just hilarious.
Now you have to watch the rest of them!
Also, Navi's outfit is so cute 🥰
I'm pretty sure most people like myself call they see your reaction videos, and they just click off. I am convinced that between all of you, there are only three brain cells
So many best action and Comedy film out there like Rush hour, Bad Boys with Will Smith and Martin Lawrence, Lethal Weapon, Ace Ventura with Jim Carrey, The Mask with Jim Carrey, Men in Black, The other guys, 48 hrs, True lies, I spy with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson, Austin Powers with Mike Myers, Pink Panther with Steve Martin and other classic films.
Theres one rule in explos1ves, if theres red white and blue and another color, cut the other color
Navi always looks beautiful but she looked extra beautiful with her harley-quinn look
R.I.P. Tom Wilkinson
So Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights after the Rush Hour series?
We can only hope.
If anything, that was Jackie's next big franchise too.
I wanted to see a 3rd Shanghai film instead of Rush Hour 4.
Guys please do watch the second and third installments of this franchise! They’re hilarious!
We needed a full couch for this one 😂
Classic film, glad you guys enjoyed it and I’m glad you guys all seem to be in good health.
Unrelated to the reaction but I've said it once and I'll say it again: *Navi is such a fashion icon!!* 😩
I love how Jackie does all his own Stunts.
There's a big misconception about him because in some of his movies, he does use stunt doubles, but that's only because they have to do reshoots and they always do multiple cuts and then use a double to capture the scene from a different angle and Jackie isn't available. Sometimes the double's cut just comes out better for the film so they have to use that cut. But at the end of the day, he does every single stunt his characters are involved in. They just don't always make the final cut or they use a double for different angles.
In hollywood he ALWAYS had stunt doubles for certain stunts because of “insurance”
Source: Jackie fuckin Chan
Chris Tucker, god I miss comedy like this. One of the greatest of the 90's, so many quotable lines from this movie and most are from Chris.
Not many funny movies like this anymore...gut laughs and lines you want to repeat...You all had so many reactions to the action, laughs, stunts, drama...dope movie and series
Man that was hilarious thank you for making it.
I always forget about Rush Hour when I try to list my all time favorite movies. But 1 and 2 are def at the top of my most rewatched movies
How great is this movie...........20+ years old and still such a fun time.
Movies back then had such quality ❤
Jackie Chan will forever be the king of improvised weapons
People who complain about or say “this movie wouldn’t work today” because of the “racist” jokes are so annoying. This movie would 100% be just as funny today as it was 25 years ago.
Every reaction channel laughs at it, no matter their ethnicity and race. Because it’s funny. It’s not “racist,” it’s culturally ignorant. Intentionally. That’s what makes it funny. Y’all laughed at all the “racist” jokes, too. So did Jackie, so did CT.
Racial/cultural jokes are not racist. Big difference. They were all so comfortable with them that they made an entire series.
Fun fact Jackie Chan sung “I’ll make a man out of you”. From mulan
How have you guys not seen Rush Hour!?!? That's a classic...
"I'm warning you captain you better call the FBI or Ima drop his ass off a Panda Express"😂
We NEED the 2nd movie reaction
PAT was actually correct Chris Tucker did say "fries with that" not 5's
yooo yall gotta do the shanghai noon movies as well!!
Also marketa - 600 rounds/min; 950 rounds/min Mini Uzi; 1200-1500 rounds/min Micro Uzi
I'm not an electrician but I'm pretty sure the different colors of wires have to do with the amount of power they generate. That is always the same so they can make an educated guess as to what each wire does.👍🏼
That was Jackie actually falling
I can't take my eyes off Navi. She is fine af sheesh 🔥🔥🔥
Agreed 😘🤩😍🥰❤🎉
More jackie chan movies, and any bruce lee movies would be the best thing ever
RIP to Elizabeth Peña, Chris Penn, Phillip Baker Hall, and (most recently) Tom Wilkinson 🙏
If you guys want to check out two VERY different movies featuring Elizabeth Pena, you should check out *batteries not included... And Jacobs Ladder. One's a fun, wholesome '80s family comedy with excellent miniature effects and the other one of the best horror mind-screws of the '90s.
Batteries not included is so underrated
It more shows how racist so many people are when they think Lee saying the N word was wrong. Lee sees Carter say it to address someone in a friendly manner so he did the same. The bartender was racist so attacked Jackie for saying the same thing in the same way as Carter but takes it as a negative thing based on Lee’s race. Therefore the Bartender was the racist one. Same with anyone who says or thinks someone can’t say a word or do something based on their race, that is racism by definition.
Basically, so many people get offended by the word but still use it. Me personally if it's not used negatively I don't care
Other great Chris Tucker films include Silver Linings Playbook (2012) and The Fifth Element (1997). I was thrilled that the Academy saw fit to endow an honorary Oscar to Jackie Chan.
U guys already know cause we gonna keep saying it the guy that Chris Tucker killed is Commander Zhao in the live action Avatar the Last Airbender
Chris “You want to see it happen”
Plus he had to be close enough to trigger the explosives
You had me fucking going. Whoopi Goldberg introducing Tom and Jerry vibes.
"The movie you are about to see is NOT OKAY"
