Great idea, Jack - it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. About midway up the base appears to be 2 countersunk holes. Are those for hanging the jig on the wall? About how wide and deep is the carved out space for the bowl? Now that you’ve lived with it a good while, is there any part that you’d have done differently besides the 1/4” piece of ply for the hold-down piece?

That could be called a Moxon Clamp. Based on a Moxon Vise in a bench.

Hi Mike - please feel free to copy the jig - and improve on it. I’d love to hear what you come up with. I haven’t made a jig to use with a spokeshave yet, but I intend to build a spokeshave in the near future, so I may have to.
