    Fine Art TV Series - Colour In Your Life
    Season - 07
    Episode - 05
    Filmed on Location at - Central QLD, Australia
    Theresa is predominantly a two dimensional artist. She works with a variety of mediums, from acrylic, charcoal, pastel oil and mixed media, depending on the required qualities of the subject. Canvas is her preferred choice of support, as it lends itself well to washes and treatments she likes to apply to her work.
    Enjoying the process of developing a story within her pictures, Theresa sometimes begins with a vague idea, then allows the process and story to evolve as she works. It’s a process she finds interesting, challenging, and almost spiritual in its approach.
    A contemplative artist studying, drawing, watching and listening to her subjects before taking them to the canvas, she strives to have movement and evoke feeling. Composition is also important to her as she endeavours to make unusual placement work and gain a balance through the development of colour and form.
    You can contact the artist about their art tips or art techniques directly via their website www.artwork2theresamay.com/
    The Colour In Your Life TV series is an art show that takes you into the everyday studios of artists from around the world. First class episode!
    So much heart in every painting!
    Love her subtle colour and value shifts in places like the creamy-coloured area under the birds!
    Love her organic smokey/ tendril-like lines she does with the ink and the blotchy opaque white shapes. So interesting to bring together so many different mediums, too.
    Really appreciate the matt fixative tip. Im keen to try that so i can incorporate textural chalkly lines.

    where can I but the ink pen?

  • @Honey-cp1vl
    @Honey-cp1vl 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    A few questions - what is contie? is it like a pastel or chalk? Is it an Australian term?
    Is the brush that was used with the ink like a watercolour brush you would find in a travel kit eg Sakura Koi watercolour travelling kit? It sort of looked like one.

    • @ColourinyourlifeAu
      @ColourinyourlifeAu  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Honey Hi Honey, Conte are a brand of Pastel, a little harder than normal Pastel and enables you to get a tighter line in your work, hope that helps, Graeme

    What was the white thing called she used. Not charcoal but???

    • @paulaw4215
      @paulaw4215 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Conte. It's a stick made from compressed powdered graphite or charcoal mixed with wax. Sort of like a pastel crayon. You can find them in all art supply stores.
