    What a great video watching that truck work & doing what it was intended to do, & so effortlessly.

    Those trucks were absolutely animals. I had one 1978 almost identical the I worked as a kid plowing with and then I got it but the frame was to far got.

    I am a big FORD truck guy but i sure do like this year of Dodge 4x4 . And the snow plow just makes it that much more of such a neat old truck 😊

    I LOVE it! Now THAT'S a REAL pick up truck! Wish I had it. I saw one parked in the back of a local garage/body shop several years ago but it must of been rode hard, all rusted and beat up, but that's what they were for.

    I'm a chevy guy through and through. But that, my friend, is a sweet original find. Especially for a truck that was destined to be beaten on and rotted out within a decade of it being purchased.

    Beautiful truck! It's nice to see it working like it should. There is a guy that daily drives a Sno Commander near me. You simply don't see them here in the Northeast anymore.

      beat to death is right you should see the sno commander on my channel. poor thing was toasted. Where on earth did you get this truck? Ive only seen several in my life and all but one were located in junkyards in PA (Im from CT) and they were 1/2 ton ramchargers and shortbeds

    Beautiful old dodge. i had a 78 m880 that was a retired school truck, so whoever had it before me put the plow on it. Meyer's of course. Had it for 4 years and it was my baby. really couldn't put a snow bank in front of it because it would go right through it. Pulled a few vehicles out with it and needless to say it would pull a house if you wanted it to. not to many of the ol girls around. NICE TRUCK!!!

    Do you find the OE style snow tires work better in snow/ice or the new technology style. I am looking for a set for my 75 W200 sno fiter. Love the old school look but wonder if the lugs are too stiff for anything other than deep snow.

    • @Radialaced
      @Radialaced  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The OE Goodyear Xtra Grip Hi-Milers are good in deep snow but not as good on ice and frozen snow. They are made from a harder rubber than modern snow tires. They also don't flex and conform to the surface like radials do. And they don't have all the little lines and sipes in the tread. But they are cool and they look amazing on the truck. Really brings you back to the seventies when you see them.

    • @1970ramair4transam
      @1970ramair4transam 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You just confirmed what I thought. I will run the old school set up just because I have them. Sucks that the new tires work well but don't give it the correct look I want. Keep up the great video's. Maybe we will run into each other at the Barrington truck show.

    • @Radialaced
      @Radialaced  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No lockers. Open diff in the front and possibly limited slip in the back. I don't beat on it but both rear tires will spin out on dirt

    • @Radialaced

      Yeah, it's not a resto, other than a couple touch-ups on the bed wheel wells and a good polish job. True barn find. The original owner bought it new in 73 and had a little farm in NH. Poor fella passed away in 78. The Truck only had 10k on it when he passed. His wife moved it into the barn and it sat there for 25 years. There was a brief period in the early 2000's when the old lady's grandson drove it a little and ran the odometer all the way up to 14k :) I have the title and old registration and a few receipts, (oil change) etc. so the mileage is verified. I've had it for 5 years and now it has 25k on it. Still starts and runs like a new truck.
