Hey Joshua, Great videos on arming issues. I ran into another arming issue that you didn't cover in your series. "Throttle CLI armswitch" which I finally figured out that my throttle minimum was lower than my throttle setting on my Taranis for one of my quads, which until I raised minimum above actual throttle minimum it wouldn't arm. Thanks again for all the info and keep up the great work.
Awesome! I've got a micro that gives me a calib flag often and won't arm. This usually happens after the quad spins to it's death on the roll axis whenever I try to do any kind of flip or roll.

I’ve had these vids non-stop playing. I got the dji flywoo nano and it would not arm. It turned out to be a controller setting in the goggles. Difficult to find BC quad overheats real fast and kept trying betaflight
Here's a Betaflight change that tripped me up recently (thanks to kind RCGroups users for this answer): Since 3.3.0, to use Stick Commands to trim the accelerometer, the craft needs to be disarmed *and* in angle or horizon mode, when 3.2.5 and previous didn't care what flight mode you were in. The fix was easy, just adjust the slider for angle mode to include disarmed.

Josh i have an Eachine 3 and when i plug in my pack i only get 3 beeps instead of 5 and the quad does not arm, however if i connect the quad to Betaflight my receiver lights up the sticks respond and the motors spin up thru BF. O could sure use your expertise on this problem of which I've never had?

Hi Josh great video as always. I messed up a little here I think... half accidentally I pressed the “return to factory settings” button and as you can imagine I’ve lost everything. Of course now I cannot configure the tiny 6 again because I’m a beginner! Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. And keep it up. What you are doing are. Great help to all of us.
One lesson here is, when you get a new quad, go to the CLI and type "diff all" then save the output. It will help you restore config in the future. For now rebuilding the config from scratch is the only option.
Mmmm That's cool. INav needs that arming disabled warning. Right now it just has system messages on the OSD but the Status command works in the CLI same as you showed with BetaFlight.
Is your pid master class still upto date with the latest beta flight? New to the hobby your vids have helped me so much ! I can’t begin to explain you’re like my fpv anxiety relief . Want to explore into pid tuning and not just copy peoples tunes or them telling me to do this or do that . Josh, i had my arming switch working. But in trying to fix something else, I held the button down on my IRCSYNERGY F3 flight controller and now it wont reconnect? I have the Taranis qx7, vortex 180, and fatshark goggles. I had them all working together at one point and now at a loss as the goggles OSD isnt working right either. Also, using betaflight 10.7 and firmware 4.0.6. Any help would be awesome!

But....when im not in bf the arming was fine...and i can fly. What happen? Does Bf and f4 do not allow arming in when using usb??? But in my spf3 everything arming was fine whether in bf or not everything were okay. Im so confused regarding this....please help sir...
Betaflight 3.4 added a protection where the quad will refuse to arm when plugged in to USB. You can override this by going to the Motors tab and enabled the "props are off" option.

I'm using a tarnished qx7 and have set up all variables. Betaflight shows status of quad at 'Arming disabled' Any help at all would be massively appreciated! Cheers. SP.
Follow the steps in this video to find your arming prevention status code. That will tell you why arming is disabled. Then find the status code in this playlist to find out how to fix it.
When I try to arm it the shows THROTTLE on the OSD. I've already set the bounds so the lower bound its above the throttle minimum. Also on the betaflight main page it shows the info for blocking arm = THROTTLE MSP ARM_SWITCH
If you see THROTTLE then it means the throttle channel is above the Stick Low Threshold. If it seems like you fixed that, go back and double check, because something isn't how you think it is.
@@JoshuaBardwell i found it. The tx (FSi6) was on training mode, and that arming switch would turn all values to 1500 right away. Thats why it wouldnt arm . thank you
I get “Arming disable flags: 0x1004” Upon further inspection, the xm receiver has solid green led so that means bound successfully. But when I plug into bf, click receiver tab and move the sticks,.... nothin. So the rec is bound but not talking to the fc?
You have enabled the prearm mode but you are not activating the prearm mode hence you cannot arm (which is the whole point of the prearm mode). Either delete the prearm mode or correctly set up an aux switch to activate the prearm mode before arming.
what if you have rx loss and still have switches register in bf reciever tab?after crash it wont arm and i already swaped a new r sxr thinking i killed it.
thats what i thought. i hit a powerline at speed in my hglrc batman that diconected the battery and snaped an arm. after i installed a new arm it wont arm but all switches work.naturally i assumed static poped the rx. next I'm tempted to replace the fc. i'll be disapointed when i find something got switched, but i made no changes to xlite or bf. thank you for your help.if it werent for your vids i would not have got through the first week of droning, or even get my xlite to bind to rsxr. not enuf room here to list the insparation and tech support you bring to the hobby
If the receiver tab doesn't show any channels, you need to download the latest version of the betaflight configurator, and then also download the latest betaflight firmware (version 3.5.9 as of today) and flash it to your board. Having a super old firmware on the FC, or having a super old configurator can cause this problem.
Hey josh quick question. I just finished building my quad and I took it out and tested it. It worked great except for a small yaw twitch that I fixed. What kind of maneuvers do you do to "shake down" a quad? or am I good.
Sorry for the bother but whenever I connect my drone to betaflight and connect my remote to the drone as well, my QX7 constantly says telemetry lost, telemetry found, over and over again. I’m pretty sure it’s not brown because it will happen when the drone is across the room from the remote. This problem only occurs when the drone is hooked up to betaflight though.

I have been flying for so many years and few years I have been away and when I come back again to my old hobby everything is harder. People have more and more problems with different things, so many that one has to write a book for all the troubles people go thro to fly a small quad!!!? there are 2-3 possibilities. The duming down of people has really worked!!! or maybe the programmers and people who do these things JUST DONT GIVE A SHEET!!! and the last reason is oh we got to help these few people who make money of this. which all of these reasons are wrong, unmoral
Are you running a super old version of betaflight? Or maybe on a board with not much flash memory? The old version used a hex code for the status flags. It's a bit harder to decipher.
I am not able to get any response in the quad to my transmitter. This happened after just hooking it up to Betaflight. I flew it yesterday and had a soft landing. Now in Betaflight on the receiver tab nothing happens. But when I power down the quad the Taranis X9D says telemetry lost and when I power it up it says telemetry recovered. Is there somewhere I can go for help ? Thanks Richard

Is it a f4 magnum or the emax mini magnum because on some micro stacks , they don't require battery power just USB power when connecting to blheli

Correct. The FC is not configured correctly or the receiver is not wired correctly to the FC.

I have RXLOSS, BADRX, CLI, MSP, and ARMSWITCH. This is supposed to be a bind and fly drone! 😫
Fix rxloss and the others will clear up. Your receiver is not set up right.

I'm running a Naze 32 ANFA version 2 with BTFL 3.2.5 spooled up and got hot on rear right motor (no props on) thanks for that tidbit of info.

Now in Betaflight on the receiver tab nothing happens. But when I power down the quad the Taranis X9D says telemetry lost and when I power it up it says telemetry recovered. Is there somewhere I can go for help ? Thanks Richard
