Worth noting that if you set a PASSPHRASE on the ELRS RX and TX then the need to force the receiver into 'bind mode' should be unnecessary. However, it will only work if all of the other pieces shown are correct too..
Default SSID WiFi password is 'expresslrs', all lowercase.

I had a problem with Matek 2.4 receivers - after flashing from "configurator" or "web page", receiver was constantly rebooting (connect it with USB2UART, then open "serial console" in configurator, if it shows "faults", dumps lot of garbage and uC registers) - what helped was a flashing tool i've found on Matek's page "ESP_NodeMCU-PyFlasher.exe".
I've selected "clear eeprom" or similar option (erase flash, do not remember now) and flashed elrs. It seems that original firmware has different configuration area (size or actual parameters) that are not picked up by new version, and ELRS Configurator is not clearing it by default. I had same problem with both - ELRS-R24-D and ELRS-R24-S.

Hello, I am new to ELRS, I have the Radiomaster TX16s mkII , happy model tx24 pro module and a betafpv elrs lite receiver. I managed to get the module flashed to 3.01 and the receiver flashed via wifi to the same, I did include a binding phrase. When I power cycled after flashing the rx goes into a super fast blink immediately when powering up, I am also unable to bind to it. Any idea? I am at my wits end. I do have another receiver on the way just in case...

Hey great video! just stuck on what you mean that the binding phrase is set the same on BOTH TX and RX? i know i can flash the binding phrase onto the RX but how do i set the binding phrase on the TX controller? i have a TX16S Thanks a lot!!
You must have the same binding pphrase on your ELRS TX external module
I got a question, do you have to flash the TX 16s radio or the elrs receiver when new?
Or can you just get the stock version of each and just bind and fly?
Binding will normally only work if both the radio and receiver are on the same major version of ELRS.. Best of luck.
I have the betaflight rx and tx module on my tx16s MK2 updated both. Installed rx in airplane and it went through binding process flawlessly. Took it to the field and flew the airplane. Following weekend took it back out to the field and nothing. Just a blinking blue light. This mess is so frustrating

Make sure your default gateway router is not set for 10.0.0.1 as mine was because the RX web page won’t come up. I had to re-ip my router to 172.16.0.1 for it to work.

Only if that model provides support for an additional ExpressLRS reciever. I don't expect that it will easily. DJI only want owners to buy and use their stuff... Best of luck
Great video on this topic. Unfortunately during flashing to the latest version via Wifi, I bricked that 5Ch receiver. I know there is a device available to unbrick those nano and other receivers. But no manual how to do that with this receiver. Do you have an solution for this? Thanks anyway.

@@Painless360 Thank you Sir. For me in Canada it is probably cheaper to just buy another receiver than buying that unbrick dongle from BetaFPV if it even would work. But still it would be nice to recover the bricked one. Cheers.
Great video Lee. Looking for steps for changing channel 5 to 6 in expresslrs so it works with Kopilot for mode switch, since Channel 5 is only 2 position and need 3 for kopilot. Also have you tried the Matek CRFS to Sbus for elrs and if so same issue, How to change channel 5 to 6 for mode switch.. HELP please. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestion. Have a great day
In the BetaFPV receiver you can assign the PWM outputs to be any channel you want. On the Matek PWM receiver they don't pinout CH5..

Let the ELRS reviever go to WiFi and connect to it with your PC. Version information is there... Best of luck
My HappyModel module has 2.0 and the BetaFPV RX I got are on 1.0 Do I flash the RX to 2.0 or downgrade the TX to 1.0??? Or will they bind without being on the same?
Update the reciever to version 2.x and it should all work... Best of luck

Another "gotcha" to add to the list: I was getting stuck at the Lua script "Loading..." stage. I needed to remove existing Yaapu scripts that were already loaded to get ExpressLRS script to load. I guess you can only have one or the other.

Hi, this has been soooo helpful because i mistakenly bought the Radiomaster tx12 Mk2 elrs version for my 3D and sports planes.. SO now I'm so relieved i can still use it. Question though: can I use the 5th channel as the slave of the 1st (aileron) for a 2-servo aileron setup without adverse effects?
At the moment the 5th channel needs to be 'high' to enable all of the features you want 'on' when flying. You can remap the other channels on the Rx so that CH5 isn't wasting an output.. See th-cam.com/video/3-l7mEklEY4/w-d-xo.html

Hi I have a question about Receiver in INAV
My RX already binded with my TX (signal shows in TX, led light, sound if Telemetry lost or recovered)
But INAV didnt detect the movement in my TX
Sounds like the bind is good but the connection or/and setup in INAV is wrong. See my INAV for beginners series for how to setup the Rx for SBUS and CRSF..

I was hoping you can help me, I was able to bind my rx but I cannot get ch2 to work..: I’ve verified the servos all work, adjusted and made new models in my zorro and ch2 whether it’s ele or rud it won’t send a signal while the other 3 work great
Check that you can see that channel moving on the radio ok, then move one of the known good servos to that output. If still no joy, check that the PWM output with the issue has power... Best of luck!

Does anyone know why while trying to connect to my rx wifi am forced to enter a password for the network? Since my tx uses elrs v3 I need to update but cannot access the pages to update it

When I plug my battery into my drone there's like a tiny spark happens inside the plugs (xt60? Its nazgul 5hd with 6s fullsend battery). Is this normal? Should I just plug it in faster to avoid it or am I making a mistake?
Am I going to ruin my first drone vrand new and expensive af before I even get through the complicated "bind and fly" process of downloading and updating dozens of software and updates? Who knows 😮💨

I'm getting errors when trying to flash(I guess that's what I'm doing) my radio using elrs configurator.
Unfortunately I can't read code so I have no idea what these errors mean. It suggests that I upload a screenshot of the data log to a discord server lmfao now that's quality design/user interface right there 🤦👌

I'm so stumped with this. I've installed these receivers in 8 models so far and have never had this issue. I'm starting to think it's these happymodel 2 in 1s.
That is odd, I can't see anything about double flash when connected in the manuals for it or on the ELRS site.. If you get an answer, please let me know.

I have managed to bind it up however none of the motors spin I’m using radio master Zorro
What model type? Using a flight controller? What troubleshooting have you already done?

If you new to the sport and ELRS this is not easy. Is there a map/ tree of screen to make it easier for a new guy to find where he needs to go..

Binding is the easiest part. Trying to program the ELRS controller to arm and assigning the buttons is the hard part.
What do you mean when you refer to 'ELRS controller' ? Happy to help if you can explain in a lot more detail what you're trying to do..
@@Painless360 Jumper T Pro Elrs radio. There are no English instructions for programming the switches. Can't even sell it.

Good info mate. Don't forget the bind process. Most newer elrs receivers can enter the bind phrase be powering on and off the FC 3 times in quick succession. This will force the FC to enter bind mode. Don't bother typing bind_rx into the CLI of betaflight....this simply wont work. Also make sure that the ELRX RX firmware is the sameas the ELRS TX firmware. If not then they will also not bind.
The problem I’m having is that when I click on ExptressLRS the information doesn’t populate. All I see is the word Loading…
The external RF settings need to be CRSF or it won't be able to talk to the module. Best of luck

It's getting a bit confusing. Why all the "jumping through hoops" to just fly an RC airplane????? It's not a 787 with people on board. It's just a tiny plane. OpenTx is looking better every time I watch one of these videos. So I will stop watching them.
You can make it as simple or complex as as you want. That's all part of the hobby. Happy flying
It would be worth mentioning that binding is a really uncommon thing to be doing in ELRS.
Setting a binding phrase while flashing makes this whole process unnecessary.
