I lived in Gaeta for 3 years. Such great memories! When I first arrived I lived on Piccollo Alley and could hear the man across from my window snoring at night. I arrived in August and it was so hot. Use to buy my gold in a jewelry store also on the alley called Rispoli.
Loved the video. Brought back memories. I was stationed in Gaeta on the USS Belknap from 86 to 89. We used to explore the WWII tunnels and the abandoned monastery on the hill. Probably have it blocked off now. Love to visit again someday. Thank you for the video.
I was on USS Puget Sound in Gaeta 81-84...loved it over there. Monique's pool hall, 8 1/2 bar, Bills and Vic's I wish I had the recipe for their sub sandwiches. Could make millions on them here in the states. At the end of the alley "The Gut"...there was a restaurant where I had my first calamari been hooked on it ever since.
@@Haystack63 I remember Vic’s. My wife and I had an apartment on Piccolo Alley. There was an awesome restaurant down the alley that was in the basement of a building but I can’t remember the name of it.
Love your vlogs. Lived in Gaeta 30 years ago from 1988 to 1991. A lot has changed. Rented an apartment on what they called the American hill close to where the old American school was before it was torn down. Glad you are documenting your time there.

Great video shipmate. I served on the USS La Salle in Gaeta back in 2000.
My wife served on USS la Salle. Mid 90’s. Ship is decommissioned. She lost 2 ship mates on 9/11.

I have only been here a couple of months now and still exploring the place. I am stationed on a Navy ship docked here in Gaeta.
I love that piccolo ally i have a picture taken on 2006 10:09 😊😇✌ then came back on 2019 for family tour thank you🥰
