    The teleconverter use case is what sold me on this lens. I hope that the TC's get a v2 update.

    Been thinking about that 70-200 but THE WIDE IS GOING CRAZY LATELY

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I KNOW. So many good wide angle lenses out there right now, but that compression from tight lenses... don't sleep on it!

      If you're considering this, but want wider (& maintaining good tele); would the Tamron 35-150mm f2-2.8 be of interest?

    I totally agree with your point. However I would also like you to look at the versatility of Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 lens. Would like your reviews on this lens and the usability of this one lens for most of the scenarios except with need for wide-ultrawide.

      That lens is next on my list to look at honestly because it’s SO good. I tested it briefly earlier this year and my first impressions were 👏🏼

    Do you think I should still pick up a 70-200 if I have the Tamron 35-150? Mainly for high school sports videography

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I would say if you already have a 35-150, unless you NEED that extra reach (e.g., often finding yourself needing to crop in for your final result), then maybe. But personally, if you already have a zoom your happy with, I would invest in good prime lenses to expand your capabilities!

    • @Freewxll614
      @Freewxll614 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DavidZhou gotcha! I have some primes that cover me from 16-55mm and then the Tamron covers the rest but I will definitely keep what you said about cropping in mind!

      @@Freewxll614 hi how was your decision? I'm on the fence between 24-70 & 70-200 combo vs 16-35 & 35-150

    Nice video man. I’ve been subbed to you since that 70-200 mk1 video you mentioned. I love to see how your channel has grown. I picked up the 70-200 GM II on launch day for pairing with an A7Riv. I initially planned on shooting more portraits with it, but I actually ended up shooting mostly high end cars with it. If the current Sigma 70-200 had been out at the time, I would’ve scooped that up and saved $ because I’m happily running only Sigma Art series and Sony GM lenses. From what I’ve seen, I would’ve been happy to have the Sigma, but I’m very glad I plunked down the change for the G Money!💰

      @DavidZhou  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh that's awesome, thanks for sticking around! And yeah, the Sigma Art line has always been incredible when it comes to image quality but I just love the hassle-free first-party experience with the GM lenses.

    70-200 is for the solo youtubers who leave their camera on the other side of mountain

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Ngl, I'm terrified of leaving my camera unattended and the distance I'd have to be for a 200mm shot is so uncomfortable haha

    • @theunkownmr.562
      @theunkownmr.562 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @cyb thas exactly what I was thinking as a detailer. The further i can put my camera back the less chances of it getting knocked over by a hose or getting his with chemicals and water while being able to maintain closer shot from a distance.

      @@theunkownmr.562 this is also the case for macro photography. Longer distance for more working area.

    I have this lens and have the 1.4 and the 2x converters and love it and find I don’t use my Sony 200-600mm lens as much as I do this lens for here in Alaska for the wildlife

      Nice solution!
      If that's the case; are you running a higher MP sensor to compensate for some of that reach?

    I'll take the Tamron 35-150 over a 70-200 basically any day of the week. I rarely need to go past 150, even shooting from the back of a wedding ceremony it's more than enough. I think if I really needed more reach than that, I'd look at a 200-400 or something along those lines. I use the 35-105 focal lengths of the Tamron a ton.

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That Tamron 35-150 is really high on my list for that reason. That 200 is nice for when you have to be farther from the ceremony (depending on venue layout) but the 35-150 focal range makes it an all-day lens. Absolutely perfect for a second shooter as well!

    05:05 Is the model standing in the same place..? Or is it moved back to fit the scale of the frame for every focal length..?

    • @DavidZhou
      @DavidZhou  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The model does not move-I however stepped further back as I zoomed in to keep the same composition to demonstrate how the different focal lengths affect the background and the subject when composed the same way.
